Temporary changes to Red Line service between Roosevelt and Fullerton this weekend;Extra service provided for various concerts throughout the city
Make the most of the summer season and get to all your favorite outdoor activities affordably and conveniently using CTA.
Customers can spend even less by taking advantage of CTA’s promotional discount on three of its most popular unlimited-ride passes, available until Labor Day:
- 1-day/24-hour pass: $5 (down from $10)
- 3-day/72-hour pass: $15 (down from $20)
- 7-day pass: $20 (down from $28)
These specially discounted multi-day passes can be used to travel to sporting events, concerts, festivals, and other events happening this season, while those headed to Chicago’s popular beaches, lakefront and downtown attractions can take advantage of CTA’s extra bus service.
Weekend Work to Temporarily Impact Red Line Service
- Between 11 p.m. Fri. (8/27) and 4 a.m. Mon. (8/30), Howard-bound Red Line trains only will run on the elevated tracks from Roosevelt to Fullerton (More details here)
- 95th-bound Red Line trains will operate in the subway, but will bypass Roosevelt
- Bus shuttle service will operate both north- and southbound between Roosevelt and Cermak-Chinatown every 10 to 15 minutes
- This service change is due to track maintenance work in the State Street Subway

- Sun. 8/29 at 1:10 p.m.
Rise Against concert at Northerly Island – Sat. 8/28 at 7 p.m.
- Extra service on #130 Museum Campus and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express
Various concerts at Wrigley Field
- Sun. 8/29 at 8 p.m. – Aventura concert
- Mon. 8/30 at 6:30 p.m. - Maroon 5 concert
Special service:
- #152 Addison: More frequent service before and after concerts
- #80 Irving Park: More frequent service before concerts
- Yellow Line: Later service (until midnight from Howard Station)
- Purple Line: Loop-bound trains will stop at Sheridan for weeknight shows
