Rail Lines


BLUE LINE

9am, Mon, Mar 30 to 9am, Thu, Jul 30 or completion

Montrose Station South Entrance Temporary Closure

How does this affect my trip?
The south entrance/exit to the Montrose Blue Line station will be temporarily closed.

Please use the north entrance/exit located across the street, the north side of Montrose Avenue.

For safety, please cross the street at signal-protected crosswalks only – the nearest to the station at Kilbourn Avenue to the east and Knox Avenue to the west.

Note: 5am, Mon,Apr 6 to 5pm, Sat, Oct 31 or completion - #78 Montrose buses will operate in both directions via Montrose, Cicero, Lawrence, Elston, and Montrose.

Why is service being changed?
The south entrance will be temporarily closed due to IDOT construction on the Montrose Street bridge over the I-94 Expressway.

Delays Between Jefferson Park and Harlem (O’Hare branch)

How does this affect my trip?
Trains in both directions will operate on the same track between Jefferson Park and Harlem (O’Hare branch), resulting in minor delays.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
We are performing track maintenance to ensure that trains continue to operate safely along the Blue Line.


RED LINE

Granville, Thorndale and Bryn Mawr Temporary Station Closure

How does this affect my trip?
Granville, Thorndale and Bryn Mawr stations will temporarily close for the weekend.

For access to/from the area around these stations:
Early morning thru late evening: Use #36 Broadway buses on Broadway, or #147 Outer Drive Express or #151 Sheridan buses on Sheridan Road. Board #36, #147 and #151 buses free at stops nearest the affected Red Line stations, Loyola and Berwyn. Transfer between Red Line trains and buses at Loyola and Berwyn:

  • At Loyola (accessible), connect to #147 buses, or walk 1-1/2 blocks south to connect to #36 or #151 buses at Devon/Magnolia (1/2-block west of Broadway).
  • At Berwyn, connect to #36 buses, or walk 2-1/2 blocks east to connect to #147 or #151 buses at Sheridan/Berwyn.  

Overnight: Between 10pm and 6am, free shuttle buses will provide service between Loyola (accessible) and Berwyn, stopping near the affected Red Line stations. Transfer at Loyola or at Berwyn between Red Line trains and shuttle buses.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
We are performing track and signal construction in preparation for the Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) project.

Temporary Reroute 
#22 Clark

9am, Thu, Apr 2 to 4pm, Fri, Apr 24 or completion 

How does this affect my trip? 
Northbound #22 Clark 
buses will operate via Polk, State, and Ida B. Wells, then resume their normal route on Dearborn. 

Northbound #24 Wentworth buses will operate via Harrison, State, and Ida B. Wells, then resume their normal route on Dearborn. 

Northbound #62 Archer buses will operate via State and Ida B. Wells, then resume their normal route on Dearborn. 

Southbound #22, #24, and #62 buses are not affected. 

Allow extra travel time. 

Why is service being changed? 
Buses are rerouted due to construction at Dearborn/Harrison. 


Temporary Reroute
#29 State
#62 Archer


9am, Fri, Mar 27 to 4pm, Sun, Apr 5 or completion

How does this affect my trip?
#29 State
and #62 Archer buses will operate in both directions via, State, 18th Street, Wabash, 14th Place, and State.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to construction on State between 14th and 16th.


#53 Pulaski Temporary Reroute

9am, Mon, Mar 30 to 5pm, Mon, May 25 or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Buses will operate in both directions via Pulaski, Addison, Kimball, Elston, and Pulaski.

Due to the reroute, #53 buses will not connect with the Blue Line at the Irving Park station. During the reroute, connect between #53 buses and Blue Line trains at the Addison station.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to sewer construction on Pulaski between Dakin and Irving Park.


#92 Foster Temporary Reroute

9am, Wed, Apr 1 to 4pm, Wed, Apr 15 or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Buses will operate in both directions via Foster, California, Bryn Mawr, Lincoln, and Foster.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to sewer work at Foster/Washtenaw.

 

#126 Jackson Temporary Bus Stop Change

Fri, Mar 27, 2020 to Fri, Mar 26, 2022 or completion     

How does this affect my trip? 
The eastbound bus stops at the northeast corners of Jackson/Halsted and Jackson/ Desplaines will be temporarily discontinued. 

Board eastbound buses at the southeast corner of Van Buren/Halsted and at the northeast corner of Jefferson/Van Buren.    

Why is service being changed?  
These bus stops are relocated due to the Jane Byrne Interchange construction project. 
 

#126 Jackson Temporary Reroute

9am, Fri, Mar 27, 2020 to 9am, Fri, Mar 25, 2022  or completion   

How does this affect my trip? 
Eastbound
 buses will operate via Jackson, Halsted, Van Buren, and Jefferson, then resume their normal route on Jackson.  

Westbound buses are not affected.

Allow extra travel time.  

Why is service being changed? 
Buses are rerouted due to the Jane Byrne Interchange construction project.


#152 Addison Temporary Reroute

How does this affect my trip?
Eastbound
buses will begin their trips at the Addison/Cumberland terminal, operate via Addison, Cumberland, Forest Preserve Drive, Irving Park, and Harlem, then resume their normal route on Addison.

Westbound buses are not affected.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to utility construction at Addison/Pioneer.
