Chicago Station Temporary Closure

How does this affect my trip?
The Chicago Blue Line station will temporarily close.

Please use the nearby station at Grand.

A free bus shuttle will operate between the Chicago and Grand stations.

#56 Milwaukee buses are also available as alternate service to reach Grand station, downtown, or other destinations along the Blue Line.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
We are performing station construction to improve the Chicago station as part of the Your New Blue modernization program.

Boarding Change, Delays Between Clark/Lake and Damen

How does this affect my trip?
Board/exit all trains on the Forest Park-bound side of the platform at the Grand and Division stations.

Trains in both directions will operate on the same track between Clark/Lake and Damen, resulting in minor delays.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
We are performing station construction to improve the Chicago station as part of the Your New Blue modernization program.


GREEN, PINK LINES


Dec 14 – 16
2am Sat to 4am Mon

Bus Substitution Between Ashland and Loop Stations

How does this affect my trip?
Shuttle buses will replace rail service between Ashland and Clark/Lake.

Green Line trains will operate between Harlem/Lake and Ashland, and between Ashland/63rd-Cottage Grove and the Loop. Trains to/from 63rd Street will operate clockwise around the Inner Loop on the side also used by Orange Line trains.

Pink Line trains will operate between 54th/Cermak and Ashland, only.

From the Loop, use shuttle buses to Ashland from Clark/Lake:

  • from stations on Lake or Wabash, take a Brown Line train to Clark/Lake
  • from stations on Wells or Van Buren, take any train to Clark/Lake

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
We are making track improvements to remove slow zones and to improve rail service along the Green and Pink lines as part of the FastTracks Program.

RED LINE

Howard-bound Trains Bypass Lawrence thru Jarvis, Boarding Change at Sheridan and Wilson

How does this affect my trip?
Lawrence thru Jarvis stations: 
Howard-bound trains will not stop at Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn, Bryn Mawr, Thorndale, Granville, Loyola, Morse, or Jarvis stations.

Shuttle bus: Shuttle buses will provide service toward Howard between Wilson and Howard, stopping along Broadway or Sheridan Road at the corner nearest the affected Red Line station (see map below). Transfer at Wilson from Howard-bound Red Line trains to the shuttle bus.

Train service:

For service to these stations, take a Howard-bound train to Howard and transfer to a 95th-bound train.

For service from these stations, take a 95th-bound train to Wilson and transfer to a Howard-bound train.

Sheridan and Wilson stations: Howard-bound trains will stop at their normal platform. At Sheridan, board/exit trains on the outer tracks instead of the inner tracks. At Wilson, board/exit trains on the Purple Line side of the Howard- and Linden-bound platform.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
We are making track improvements in preparation for the Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) project.

How does this affect my trip?
Northbound #44 Wallace/Racine
buses will operate via Racine, 76th, Loomis, and 74th, then resume their normal route on Racine.

Southbound #44 buses are not affected.

Eastbound #75 74th/75th buses will operate via 74th, Loomis, 76th, and Morgan, then resume their normal route on 74th.

Westbound #75 buses are not affected.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to railroad viaduct work at Racine/74th.


#70 Division Temporary Reroute

9am, Tue, Dec 10 to 4pm, Mon, Dec 30 or completion

How does this affect my trip?
9am, Tue, Dec 10 to 4pm, Mon, Dec 30 : Eastbound
buses will begin their trips at Division/Austin, operate via, Austin, Augusta, and Central, then resuming their normal route on Division. 

9am, Tue, Dec 10 to 4pm, Fri, Dec 20: Westbound buses will operate via Division, Central, North Avenue,
and Austin, ending their trips at Division/Austin.

4pm, Fri, Dec 20 to 4pm, Mon, Dec 30: Westbound buses will operate via Division, Central, Augusta, and Austin, ending their trips at Division/Austin.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to a water main work on Division between Austin and Massasoit.


#152 Addison Temporary Reroute 

9am, Thu, Dec 5, 2019 to 5pm, Mar 2, 2020 or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Westbound
buses will operate via Addison, Harlem, Irving Park, and Forest Preserve Drive, then resume their normal route on Addison.

Eastbound buses are not affected.  

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to utility work on Addison between Ozanam and Octavia.
