BLUE LINE

Bus Substitution Between Jefferson Park and Harlem (O’Hare branch) Stations

How does this affect my trip? 
Shuttle buses will replace rail service between Jefferson Park and Harlem (O’Hare branch).

Trains will operate between O’Hare and Harlem (O’Hare branch), and between Jefferson Park, downtown, and Forest Park.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed? 
We are making signal improvements to allow trains to operate more efficiently along the Blue Line as part of the Your New Blue modernization program.

GREEN and PINK LINES

Bus Substitution Between Ashland and Loop Stations

How does this affect my trip?
Shuttle buses will replace rail service between Ashland and Clark/Lake.

Green Line trains will operate between Harlem/Lake and Ashland, and between Ashland/63rd-Cottage Grove and the Loop. Trains to/from 63rd Street will operate clockwise around the Inner Loop on the side also used by Orange Line trains.

Pink Line trains will operate between 54th/Cermak and Ashland, only.

From the Loop, use shuttle buses to Ashland from Clark/Lake:

  • from stations on Lake or Wabash, take a Brown Line train to Clark/Lake
  • from stations on Wells or Van Buren, take any train to Clark/Lake

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
We are making track improvements to remove slow zones and to improve rail service along the Green and Pink lines as part of the FastTracks Program.

#4 Cottage Grove Temporary Reroute

9am to 10am or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Northbound buses will operate via Michigan, Randolph, State, and Wacker, ending their trips at Wacker/Wabash.

Southbound buses will begin their trips at Wacker/Wabash, operate via Wacker and Michigan to South Water, then continue their normal route on Michigan.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to a helicopter lift.


#6 Jackson Park Express Temporary Reroute

Sat, Aug 24
7am to 9am or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Buses will operate in both directions via South Hyde Park, 53rd, and Lake Park.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to a helicopter lift on East Hyde Park between 51st and 53rd.


#6 Jackson Park Express Temporary Reroute

9am to 10am or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Northbound
buses will operate via Michigan, Randolph, Dearborn, ending their trips at Dearborn/Lake.

Southbound buses will begin their trips at Dearborn/Lake, operate via Dearborn and Wacker, then
resume their normal route on State.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to a helicopter lift.

How does this affect my trip?
Northbound #6 Jackson Park Express
, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, and #J14 Jeffery Jump buses will operate via Columbus, Roosevelt, and Michigan to Balbo.

#10 buses will resume their normal route on Balbo.

#6 and #J14 buses will continue their normal route on Michigan.

Between Michigan/Balbo and Roosevelt/Columbus, southbound #6, #10, and #J14 buses will operate via Michigan and Roosevelt, then resume their normal route on Columbus.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to the 2019 Transamerica Chicago Triathlon.
 

#78 Montrose Temporary Reroute

5am to 3pm or completion

How does this affect my trip?
(Beach Trips Only)
Eastbound buses will operate via Wilson, Marine, and Montrose, ending their trips at Montrose/Marne.

Westbound buses will begin their trips at Montrose/Marine, then continue their normal route on Montrose.

Buses will not serve the Montrose Beach..

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to the Chicago Triathlon SuperSprint and Kids Tri event.


#124 Navy Pier Express Temporary Reroute

9am to 10am or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Eastbound
buses will operate via Washington, State, and Illinois to Columbus, then continue their normal route on
Illinois.

Westbound buses will operate via Grand and State, then resume their normal route on Madison.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to a helicopter lift.


Temporary Reroute
#146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express
#147 Outer Drive Express


Sun, Aug 25
5am to 12:30pm or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Southbound #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express
and #147 Outer Drive Express buses will operate
via Foster, Marine, Sheridan, Cannon, Stockton, LaSalle Drive, and Inner Lake Shore Drive, then resume their normal route on Michigan.

Northbound #146 and #147 buses are not affected.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to the 2019 Transamerica Chicago Triathlon Bike Course.
