Weekend work to impact service between Green and Pink Line Clinton and Ashland stations

Did you know that CTA provides easy, affordable connections to some of Chicago’s most popular destinations? We’ve also expanded service this summer to make it even more convenient for customers to get to the beach, park, concerts, museums and more this season!

Event service/extra service
Union Park: Ruido Festival - Fri. 6/21 to Sun. 6/23

  • Rail: More frequent service and longer evening trains on the Pink Line
  • Bus: Extra service on the #9 Ashland

Northerly Island: Country Lake Shake – Fri. 6/21 to Sun. 6/23 at 2 p.m.

United Center: Hugh Jackman – Fri. 6/21 at 7 p.m.

Soldier Field: Rolling Stones Concert – Fri. 6/21 and Tues. 6/25 at 7:30 p.m.

Wrigley Field
NY Mets vs. Cubs – Thurs. 6/20 at 7:05 p.m., Fri. 6/21, Sat. 6/22 & Sun. 6/23 at 1:20 p.m.
Atlanta Braves vs. Chicago Cubs – Mon. 6/24, Tues. 6/25 and Wed. 6/26 at 7:05 p.m.

Need another great reason to take CTA to the Cubs game? Limos, ride-hailing vehicles and taxis will be restricted from picking up and dropping off passengers in close proximity to Wrigley Field in order to reduce traffic congestion.

CTA recommends allowing plenty of travel time and purchasing fares and unlimited-ride passes in advance. More information about purchasing fares is below.

Disruption of Green and Pink Line Service between Clinton and Ashland this Weekend
There will be a temporary disruption to Green and Pink Line service this weekend between the Clinton and Ashland stations from 11 p.m. Fri. June 21 until 4 a.m. Mon. June 24, 2019. The Morgan station, which is located between Clinton and Ashland, will be closed for the duration of the service interruption.

During this period, free bus shuttle service will be provided between the affected stations. CTA encourages customers to allow for extra travel time.

This service disruption will allow crews to repair rail tracks as part of CTA’s FastTracks program. FastTracks is designed to provide customers with a faster commute and smoother 'L' ride. More information here: www.transitchicago.com/fasttracks/

Buy your unlimited ride passes and fares in advance
Avoid long lines to buy fares! Customers can add  unlimited ride passes (1-day, 3-day, 7-day and 30-day) or add money to pay per-ride to their Ventra cards ahead of time via the free Ventra app, at rail station Ventra vending machines, online or at nearly 900 local retailers (for locations visit ventrachicago.com or the Ventra app).

Customers can also purchase 1-day unlimited ride tickets ($10) or single-ride tickets ($3) from all Ventra vending machines. Single-ride tickets include up to two transfers in two hours. Customers can also pay their fares with their personal contactless debit or credit cards.
