Need another great reason to take CTA to the Cubs game? Limos, ride-hailing vehicles and taxis will be restricted from picking up and dropping off passengers in close proximity to Wrigley Field in order to reduce traffic congestion.
CTA recommends allowing plenty of travel time and purchasing fares and unlimited-ride passes in advance. More information about purchasing fares is below.
Interruption of O’Hare Branch Blue Line Service between Jefferson Park and Harlem
Signal upgrade work on the O’Hare branch of the Blue Line continues this weekend, resulting in a temporary interruption in service between the Jefferson Park and Harlem stations this weekend from 10 p.m. Fri. July 19 to 4 a.m. Mon. July 22, 2019.
During this period, free bus shuttle service will be provided between the affected stations. CTA encourages customers to allow for extra travel time.
Upgrades to the signal system is part of the $492 million Your New Blue (YNB) program. Considered the largest investment in the Blue Line since it was extended to O’Hare International Airport 30 years ago, Your New Blue is modernizing and improving stations along this critical line as well as making track and signal system improvements to increase service reliability for customers. More project information can be found at transitchicago.com/yournewblue/.
Early AM Pink Line Service Suspended between 54th/Cermak and Pulaski Stations
To allow crews to perform track repairs, service on the Pink Line will be temporarily suspended between the 54th/Cermak and Pulaski stations from 2:15 a.m. until 7:15 a.m. each day on both Sat. July 20 and Sun. July 21.
During this period, free bus shuttle service will be provided between the affected stations. CTA encourages customers to allow for extra travel time.
Buy your unlimited ride passes and fares in advance

Customers can add unlimited ride passes (1-day, 3-day, 7-day and 30-day) or add money to pay per-ride to their Ventra cards ahead of time via the free Ventra app, at rail station Ventra vending machines, online or at nearly 900 local retailers (for locations visit ventrachicago.com or the Ventra app).
Customers can also purchase 1-day unlimited ride tickets ($10) or single-ride tickets ($3) from all Ventra vending machines. Single-ride tickets include up to two transfers in two hours. Customers can also pay their fares with their personal contactless debit or credit cards.
