Extra Weekday Service on 48 CTA Bus Routes, Six Rail Lines and Additional Weekend Train Service Begins Sunday 12/15/2012

The Chicago Transit Authority will begin offering additional bus and rail service on the transit system’s most crowded routes starting Sunday, December 16, as part of a previously announced plan to reduce uncomfortable crowding and help meet growing ridership demand. The plan is the equivalent of $16 million in added service to bus and rail routes that are used by more than 76 percent of CTA’s customers – and comes at no additional cost to taxpayers and riders. Lawrence Red Line Station Re-Opens Late Friday Night 11/28/2012

Beginning at 11:59 p.m. Friday, November 30, CTA Red Line trains will resume serving the cleaner, brighter and renewed Lawrence station. The station is the sixth of seven stations to undergo a six-week temporary closure as part of the Red Line North Interim Improvement project.
