CTA to Open New Elevators at Brown Line Belmont and Fullerton Stations 12/28/2009

The newly installed elevators at CTA’s Belmont and Fullerton stations will be available for customers’ use this week. The elevator at Belmont will go into service on Tuesday, December 29 and the one at Fullerton will begin operation on Thursday, December 31. CTA Bus Tracker Information Now Available On-Demand via New Text Messaging Feature 12/22/2009

Chicago Transit Authority President Richard L. Rodriguez introduced a new Bus Tracker feature that will make bus arrival information accessible to customers via text messaging beginning today. By sending a text message to 41411 with “CTABUS” and a bus stop identification number, customers will receive the estimated arrival times of the next two buses at their bus stop. CTA Helping Employees Prepare for Layoffs 12/18/2009

With more than 1000 employees scheduled for layoffs in February, the CTA is taking measures to help affected employees plan and prepare. A series of workshops have been scheduled in January to provide information on unemployment benefits and job search tips and the CTA is also trying to connect employees with companies that are hiring.
