Celebrating 78 years of CTA

An old, handsome 4000 series train.

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is marking its 78th anniversary—celebrating the indispensable role the agency has played in the growth and success of Chicago and its surrounding suburbs.

In observance of the October 1st anniversary, the CTA will be offering rides on its 1920s-era vintage train cars.

The vintage trains will run between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesday October 1st, on the inner loop, making all regular loop stops.

Normal fares apply, but no additional ticket is needed.
