The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is hosting a virtual Full-Time Bus Operator Career Fair on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, from Noon to 1 p.m. Applicants who are interested in serving our city, seek full-time employment, and possess excellent customer service skills are encouraged to attend the virtual job fair and apply!
In honor of Women’s History Month, applicants attending the virtual fair will not only learn about the benefits of joining the CTA family, they’ll hear some of the exciting and inspiring career journeys taken by women in our Bus Operations department.
To apply for a CTA Bus Operator position, candidates must be 21 years of age; have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record; be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays; and be able to pass a drug and alcohol test, per Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) regulations. Successful candidates will also be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

The starting hourly wage for new, full-time bus operators is $24.27 and after working 46 months can earn top pay of $37.34! Benefits for CTA bus operators include medical and prescription drug plans for employees, their spouses, dependent children (up to age 26), and civil union partners; free transit on CTA and Pace buses, and pension/retirement plan options.
