Take CTA to Opening Day

April 3, 2017

CTA service gets you steps away from Wrigley and Guaranteed Rate Fields

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is an affordable and convenient way to get to Chicago Cubs and White Sox home baseball games all season long.

Chicago White Sox baseball at Guaranteed Rate Field

Guaranteed Rate Field is just a block west of the Sox-35th stop on the Red Line and just three blocks west of the 35th-Bronzeville-IIT stop on the Green Line.

Fans can also use CTA’s #1 Bronzeville/Union Station, #4 Cottage Grove, #24 Wentworth, #29 State, #35 35th (connects with Orange Line and Green Lines), #39 Pershing (connects with Orange Line and Green Lines) and #44 Wallace/Racine to get to, or within a few blocks of, the ballpark.

Chicago Cubs baseball at Wrigley Field

Wrigley Field is just a half block west of the Addison stop and a couple blocks south of the Sheridan stop on the Red Line.

During weeknight Cubs games all season long, Howard-bound (northbound) Red Line trains will operate with increased frequency between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Also during weeknight games, Loop-bound (southbound) Purple Line Express trains will stop at Sheridan, just a couple blocks north of the ballpark.

During all Cubs night games, Yellow Line trains will operate from Howard to Skokie until midnight.

Fans can also use CTA’s #8 Halsted, #22 Clark or #152 Addison (connects to the Brown and Blue lines) to get to, or within a few blocks of, Wrigley Field. The CTA provides extra service on the #80 Irving Park and #152 Addison routes for all Cubs home games.
