Take a Ride on the CTA to Check Out Your New Ride at the 2014 Auto Show at McCormick Place

The Chicago Transit Authority is a convenient travel option for those heading to the 2014 Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place. Buses will operate during all show hours through Monday, February 17.

Regular Bus Service

#3 King Drive
Service to McCormick Place will be provided from Fairbanks/Ontario and the South Side every 20 minutes via #3 King Drive buses during the show hours.

#21 Cermak
From North Riverside Park Mall on the West Side and from Mercy Hospital on the South Side, #21 buses will operate to McCormick Place approximately every 12 to 20 minutes.

In addition, customers also can take the CTA's Red Line and transfer to #21 buses at the Cermak-Chinatown station.

Auto Show Shuttle Service

CTA will provide bus shuttle service between downtown rail lines and McCormick Place during the weekends and on weekdays.

Downtown – McCormick Place
Special Auto Show buses will operate between the Ogilvie Transportation Center and McCormick Place approximately every 12 to 20 minutes on weekdays and every 10 to 20 minutes on weekends from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. These buses will have either “Auto Show Bus” or “Metra Stations/Via Downtown” in their destination signs depending on the direction of travel.

Auto Show buses start their trips from Ogilvie Transportation Center on Clinton at Madison, making stops south on Clinton and east on Jackson to Wabash. A stop also will be made on Columbus at 11th Street to serve the Museum Campus. From Columbus and 11th Street, the buses will run express to McCormick Place.

Customers can connect to buses on Jackson from the Blue Line at Dearborn, the Red Line at State, and from Brown, Green, Orange and Pink Line trains serving the Adams/Wabash station (one block north of Jackson) at Wabash.

Halsted Orange Line – McCormick Place (Weekends Only)
On weekends only, a shuttle will operate approximately every 20 minutes between McCormick Place and the Halsted Orange Line station beginning 9 a.m. to 11 pm.

From the Halsted Orange Line station, shuttle buses will travel via Cermak Road to McCormick Place. Outbound buses will travel the reverse route. The shuttle buses will be identified with “To McCormick Place” or “Orange Line” in their destination signs depending on the direction of travel.

CTA Fares

For bus customers who use CTA fare media, fares are $2 and transfers are an additional 25 cents. For rail customers the fare is $2.25 and transfers are an additional 25 cents. The fare for bus customers paying cash is $2.25. Transfers are not available for customers paying fares in cash.
