The following navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move through main tier links and expand / close menus in sub tiers. Up and Down arrows will open main tier menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.
Effective, Monday, January 5, 2026, the State/Lake Loop Elevated station will temporarily close. Please use the accessible Clark/Lake or Washington/Wabash stations, located within a few blocks of the State/Lake station. To transfer between the Red Line at Lake station and the Loop ‘L’ lines, use Washington/Wabash.

Austin Green Line station main entrance reopens Fri, Aug 7 at 1pm. It will be accessible to riders w/disabilities, incl. a new elevator for step-free access.
Loop-bd Purple Line Express trains will stop at Sheridan for all weekday Cubs night games; Linden-bd trains will stop at Sheridan for weekday Cubs day games.
Effective, now, the State/Lake Loop Elevated station is closed for reconstruction into 2029. Please use adjacent stations at Clark/Lake or Washington/Wabash.
The elevator at 35th- Bronzeville- IIT (Green Line) is temporarily out-of-service.
The Loop-bound platform elevator at Diversey (Brown, Purple Lines) is temporarily out-of-service.
The elevator to/from either platform at Merchandise Mart (Brown, Purple Lines) is temporarily out-of-service.
