Southbound Platform at Chicago Avenue Temporarily Closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday Evening

Construction work planned for this weekend on the Brown Line will require a temporary closure of the southbound platform at the Chicago Avenue station on Friday, January 19, Saturday, January 20 and Sunday, January 21. The temporary platform closure changes a previous notice for customers at this station that would allow customers traveling southbound to board and exit at the station. Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

8 p.m. Friday, January 19 to 1 a.m. Saturday, January 20; 6 p.m. Saturday, January 20 to 1 a.m. Sunday, January 21; and 6 p.m. Sunday, January 21 to 12:30 a.m. Monday, January 22 ? Chicago Station
At Chicago Avenue station on the Brown Line, the southbound platform will be temporarily closed. Southbound Brown Line trains will not stop at Chicago Avenue station during these hours. Southbound customers who wish to exit at the station should travel to the Merchandise Mart station, board a northbound Brown Line train and ride back to Chicago Avenue. Southbound customers who want to board at the Chicago Avenue station should board a northbound train and travel to the Sedgwick station to board a southbound Brown Line train.

Normal southbound Brown Line service will resume at the Chicago Avenue station at 4 a.m. on Monday, January 22.
