Between Fullerton and Roosevelt, northbound and southbound Red Line trains will operate on the elevated tracks from 11 p.m. Friday, May 18 until 5 p.m. Sunday, May 20 due to planned construction and maintenance work.

Customers are asked to allow extra travel time.

Red Line trains will operate normally from Howard to Fullerton, and from 95th to Cermak-Chinatown. Rerouted Red Line trains will stop at the following elevated stations between Cermak-Chinatown and Fullerton: Roosevelt/Wabash, Adams/Wabash, Madison/Wabash, Randolph/Wabash, State/Lake, Clark/Lake, Merchandise Mart, Chicago/Franklin and Sedgwick. In addition to running Red Line trains on the elevated tracks, CTA will operate three bus shuttles that will operate throughout the reroute to help customers make their normal connections. All shuttle service will connect to elevated stations where customers will be able to board northbound and southbound Red Line trains.

Bus shuttle service will operate between the Clark/Division station and North/Clybourn station, stopping at the Sedgwick station where customers may board Red Line trains.

Bus shuttle service also will operate from the Grand/State and Chicago/State stations to the Chicago/Franklin station where customers may board Red Line trains.

Additional bus shuttle service will operate between Jackson/State, Harrison/State and Roosevelt/Wabash where customers may board Red Line trains.

Northbound Red Line trains will resume normal service through the subway at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 20. Southbound Red Line trains will continue to operate over the elevated tracks until 1 a.m. Monday, May 21.

Customers who wish to travel southbound from downtown stations can access southbound Red Line trains at any of the elevated stations along Wabash or Lake streets. Customers who wish to travel southbound from the Grand, Chicago, Clark/Division or North/Clybourn Red Line stations can board a northbound train and exit at Fullerton to board southbound Red Line trains on the southbound platform.

Southbound customers who wish to exit at the Grand, Chicago, Clark/Division or North/Clybourn stations should travel to the Roosevelt station and board a northbound Red Line train.
