Pink Line service impacts between the Loop and Polk

March 29, 2016

Currently, Pink Line trains are running only between 54th/Cermak and Racine on the Blue Line.

Pink Line trains will make all stops between 54th/Cermak and Polk, then continue to the Racine Blue Line stop. Customers can transfer to Blue Line trains to continue the trip to the Loop.

Customers traveling from the Loop can take the Blue Line to Racine, then switch to 54th/Cermak-bound Pink Line trains.

Pink Line trains will run approximately every 15 minutes. Customers are advised to allow additional travel time. Pink Line trains are also expected to see crowding.

Service on other rail lines is not expected to be impacted, though the Blue Line may see some delays during the AM and PM rush hours.

Pink Line riders traveling between Polk and the Loop are encouraged to consider the #157 Streeterville/Taylor bus as an alternative. CTA will add additional service during the rush hours.

The service change is the result of damage to a signal relay house near Ashland/Lake. No timetable has been set for restoration of regular Pink Line service.

CTA personnel will be on hand at stations to assist customers. Customers can also get service updates at www.transitchicago.com or via Twitter @cta.
