Loop Track Renewal Work this Weekend

Track closures Friday night through Monday morning
 
This weekend’s Loop Track Renewal work will require the closure of the inner and outer Loop elevated tracks along Wells and Van Buren streets beginning Friday night through early Monday morning. During this time, several bus routes will be detoured due to street closures in the area.
 

Friday Night to Monday Morning: Wells/Van Buren Track Closure

From 10 p.m. Friday, June 15 through 4 a.m. Monday, June 18, the inner and outer elevated tracks along Wells and Van Buren streets will be closed. During this time, all trains serving the Loop elevated will operate along the Wabash and Lake sections of track.
 
All rail lines serving the Loop will resume normal operations at the start of service on Monday, June 18.

Reroutes for #11, #14, #20, #56, #60 and #124 Buses

From 7 p.m. Friday, June 15 until 6 a.m. Monday, June 18, the following reroutes will be in effect due to the closure of Wells Street from Lake to Monroe, Monroe Street from Franklin to LaSalle, and Randolph Street from LaSalle to Franklin:
 
#11 Lincoln/Sedgwick (Southbound Only)
Southbound #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick buses will travel over the regular route along Wells to Wacker then will operate via Wacker, Clark, Adams to Wells and resume the regular route. Northbound #11 buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route.
 
#14 Jeffery Express
Southbound #14 Jeffery Express buses will operate over the regular route along Washington past Wells to LaSalle then will travel via LaSalle to Monroe and resume the regular route. Northbound #14 buses will operate over the regular route, but will be unable to make any stops between Franklin and LaSalle.
 
#20 Madison, #56 Milwaukee and #124 Navy Pier
Northbound #20 Madison and #56 Milwaukee buses and westbound #124 Navy Pier buses will operate over their regular routes, but will be unable to make any stops between Franklin and LaSalle.
 
Southbound #20 and #56 buses and eastbound #124 buses are not affected and will travel over their regular routes and will serve all posted stops.
 
#60 Blue Island/26th
Westbound #60 Blue Island/26th buses will travel over the regular route along Randolph to LaSalle then will operate via LaSalle, Madison, Wacker to Randolph and then resume the regular route.
 
Eastbound #60 buses will travel over the regular route, but will be unable to make any stops between Franklin and LaSalle.
 
The Loop Track Renewal project is part of Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s Building a New Chicago program, which is updating infrastructure that's critical to the city -- and includes improvements that will help ensure that CTA continues to serve customers as effectively as possible.
