Late Night Single Tracks in Effect on Red and Purple Lines Next Week Due to Track Maintenance

Southbound Red Line Service Temporarily Suspended at Jarvis, Morse and Loyola Stations Late Weeknights
Southbound Red Line trains will temporarily operate on southbound Purple Line tracks at the Jarvis, Morse and Loyola stations and will be unable to stop at those stations due to track maintenance work to eliminate slow zones on the following dates and times:

  • 10 p.m. Monday, July 30 until 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 31
  • 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 31 until 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 1
  • 10 p.m. Wednesday, August 1 until 4:30 a.m. Thursday, August 2
  • 10 p.m. Thursday, August 2 until 4:30 a.m. Friday, August 3

Southbound customers who want to exit at Jarvis, Morse or Loyola should board a northbound train at Granville and ride back to these stations. Southbound customers who want to board at these stations should board a northbound train, exit at Howard and board a southbound train.

CTA customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Northbound Red Line service is not affected. Normal southbound service will resume at Jarvis, Morse and Loyola at 4:30 a.m. each following morning.

Single Track in Effect on Purple Line for Track Maintenance
A single track will be in effect between Central and Linden on the Purple Line for track maintenance. Southbound customers boarding at the Central station must board on the northbound side of the tracks during the following dates and times.

  • 10 p.m. Wednesday, August 1 until 4:30 a.m. Thursday, August 2
  • 10 p.m. Thursday, August 2 until 4:30 a.m. Friday, August 3

Regular southbound service will resume at 4:30 a.m. on Friday.
