In anticipation of large crowds expected to attend the May Day Immigration Rights Rally scheduled for Thursday, May 1, the CTA expects that up to 46 Loop bus routes traveling in the vicinity of the parade may be impacted with intermittent delays. The parade will step-off at noon from Union Park and then run until approximately 3 p.m. before disbanding at the Dirksen Federal Plaza.

CTA will have extra personnel available on the system as needed to assist customers with rolling reroutes as the parade makes its ways through the Loop. CTA is advising customers to allow extra travel time. To speed travel, customers are encouraged to buy farecards in advance with sufficient value or to add enough value to their existing farecards (either the Chicago Card or magnetic strip farecard) for their return trips later in the day.
