Hop on CTA to All Your Easter Weekend Festivities

CTA’s trains and buses will get you to various concerts, sporting events and Easter egg hunts; Construction work to temporarily impact the Brown and Orange Lines

CTA will get you to school, work, appointments and all other destinations in between. Customers can save money by purchasing an unlimited rides pass, either the 1-Day ($5) – far more economical and convenient than the price of gas and parking - or the 3-Day ($15) pass – a real budget-saving move.

Service for Upcoming Events

United Center Events

  • Shane Gillis – Fri. 4/3 and Sat. 4/4 at 8 p.m.
  • Phoenix Suns vs. Chicago Bulls – Sun. 4/5 at 2:30 p.m.
  • Twice – Mon. 4/6 and Tue. 4/7 at 8 p.m.

Service:

  • Rail: Take the Green Line and exit at the new Damen station or exit at the Ashland station from either a Green or Pink line train.
  • Get to and from these events via the #20 Madison and #50 Damen bus routes. Customers can also take the #19 United Center Express route post event.

Soldier Field

  • Nashville SC vs. Chicago Fire FC – Sat. 4/4 at 7:30 p.m.

Service:

  • Rail: The Red, Orange and Green lines provide the closest access to Soldier Field. Exit at the Roosevelt station.
  • Bus: Service on the #146 Inner Lake Shore/Michigan Express route.

Rate Field:

  • Toronto Blue Jays vs. White Sox – Home Opener: Fri. 4/3 at 1:10 p.m., Sat. 4/4 and Sun. 4/5 at 1:10 p.m.
  • Baltimore Orioles vs. White Sox – Mon. 4/6 and Tue. 4/7 at 6:07 p.m., Wed. 4/8 at 2:07 p.m.

Service:

  • Red Line: Rate Field is just one block west of the Sox-35th station.
  • Green Line: The 35th-Bronzeville-IIT station is just three blocks east of the ballpark.
  • #35 31st/35th: The #35 route (which connects with Orange and Green lines) is the main bus route providing service to the stadium and operates during all game times.
  • Adjacent bus routes: Several CTA bus routes serve the ballpark area, including:
    • #1 Bronzeville/Union Station (during Monday – Friday rush periods only)
    • #4 Cottage Grove
    • #24 Wentworth (which runs Monday – Friday to 8:30 p.m.)
    • #29 State
    • #31 31st (which runs Monday – Friday to 7 p.m.)
    • #39 Pershing (which connects with Orange and Green lines)
    • #44 Wallace/Racine

Beach Service to the Lakefront

Now through mid-August, Weekend/Holiday beach service will operate directly to Chicago’s beaches on the following bus routes:

Construction Work to Temporarily Impact Brown Line Service

  • Between 2:45 a.m. on Mon. 4/6 and 10 p.m. on Fri. 4/17, Loop-bound Brown Line trains will not stop at the Western station. (More details)
  • For Loop-bound service from this station, take a Kimball-bound train to Rockwell and transfer to a Lop-bound train.
  • For Loop-bound service to this station, take a Loop-bound train to Damen and transfer to a Kimball-bound train.
  • This service change is due to improvements at the Western Brown Line station.

Weekend Work to Temporarily Impact Orange Line Service

  • Between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sat. 4/4, rail service on the Orange Line will operate on the same track between Midway and Kedzie. (More details)
  • Customers should board/exit all trains on the Midway-bound side of the platform at the Pulaski station.
  • This service change is due to track maintenance work to ensure that trains continue to operate safely along the Orange Line.
