Hop on CTA As You Move Across the Chicagoland Area

CTA’s trains and buses are the best and most affordable ways to get to various sporting events and concerts across town; Construction work to impact the Red Line, Brown Line, Purple Line Express and the Blue Line

Let CTA get you to all your appointments around town whether large or small. Customers can save money by purchasing an unlimited rides pass, either the 1-Day ($5) – far more economical and convenient than the price of gas and parking - or the 3-Day ($15) pass – a real budget-saving move.  

Service for Upcoming Events

United Center Events

  • Washington Wizards vs. Chicago Bulls – Fri. 4/11 at 7 p.m.
  • Winnipeg Jets vs. Chicago Blackhawks – Sat. 4/12 at 6 p.m.
  • J Balvin – Sun. 4/13 at 8 p.m.

Service:

  • Rail: Take the Green Line and exit at the new Damen station or exit at the Ashland station from either a Green or Pink line train.
  • Bus: Get to and from the following events via the #20 Madison and #50 Damen bus routes. Customers can also take the #19 United Center Express route post event.

Rate Field

  • Boston Red Sox vs. White Sox – Fri. 4/11 at 6:40 p.m., Sat. 4/12 at 3:10 p.m. and Sun. 4/13 at 1:10 p.m.
  • Athletics vs. White Sox – Tue. 4/15 and Wed. 4/16 at 6:40 p.m., Thu. 4/17 at 1:10 p.m.

Service:

  • Red Line: Rate Field is just one block west of the Sox-35th station.
  • Green Line: The 35th-Bronzeville-IIT station is just three blocks east of the ballpark.
  • #35 31st/35th: The #35 route (which connects with Orange and Green lines) is the main bus route providing service to the stadium and operates during all game times.
  • Adjacent bus routes: Several CTA bus routes serve the ballpark area, including:
    • #1 Bronzeville/Union Station (during Monday – Friday rush periods only)
    • #4 Cottage Grove
    • #24 Wentworth (which runs Monday – Friday to 8:30 p.m.)
    • #29 State
    • #31 31st (which runs Monday – Friday to 7 p.m.)
    • #39 Pershing (which connects with Orange and Green lines)
    • #44 Wallace/Racine

Soldier Field

Service on the #146 Inner Lake Shore/Michigan Express route

  • Inter Miami CF vs. Chicago Fire FC – Sun. 4/13 at 3:30 p.m.

Construction Work to Temporarily Impact Red Line, Brown Line and Purple Line Express Service

  • Between Wed. 4/9 at 10 p.m. and Sat. 4/19 at 4 a.m., customers will board/exit 95th-bound Red Line trains on the Purple and Brown line side of the 95th- and Loop-bound platform  at the Belmont station. (More details)
  • Red Line trains to 95th will share the outside track with Purple Line Express and Brown Line trains to the Loop through Belmont station, which may result in minor delays.
  • This service change is to accommodate track and signal construction for the Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) project.

Weekend Work to Temporarily Impact Blue Line Service

  • Rail service will be suspended from Fri. 4/11 at 10 p.m. to Mon. 4/14 at 4 a.m., between the Illinois Medical District station and the UIC-Halsted station. (More details)
  • During this suspension, the Blue Line will operate between O’Hare and UIC-Halsted and between Forest Park and Illinois Medical District.
  • Shuttle buses will provide service in both directions between Illinois Medical District and UIC-Halsted.
  • This service suspension is due to construction work at the Racine Blue Line station and Morgan substation.

Weekend Work to Temporarily Impact Brown Line Service

  • Kimball-bound Brown Line trains will not stop at the Diversey station on the following dates:
  • For Kimball-bound service to this station, take a Kimball-bound train to the Wellington station and transfer to a Loop-bound train back to Diversey.
  • For Kimball-bound service from this station, take a Loop-bound train to Fullerton and transfer to a Kimball-bound train.
  • Fullerton Station: Board Kimball-bound Brown Line trains on the Red Line side of the Howard- and Kimball-bound platform.
  • This service change is due to track maintenance work to ensure that trains continue to operate safely along the Brown Line.
