CTA’s trains and buses are your rides to all the various sporting events around the city; Temporary bus reroutes on southbound State Street between Wacker and Randolph due to construction work
CTA is your best designated driver to get around town. Customers can save money by purchasing an unlimited rides pass, either the 1-Day ($5) – far more economical and convenient than the price of gas and parking - or the 3-Day ($15) pass – a real budget-saving move.

United Center Events
- Carolina Hurricanes vs. Chicago Blackhawks – Thu. 4/9 at 7:30 p.m.
- Orlando Magic vs. Chicago Bulls – Fri. 4/10 at 7 p.m.
- St. Louis Blues vs. Chicago Blackhawks – Sat. 4/11 at 4 p.m.
- Buffalo Sabres vs. Chicago Blackhawks – Mon. 4/13 at 7:30 p.m.
- San Jose Sharks vs. Chicago Blackhawks – Wed. 4/15 at 7:30 p.m.
Service:
- Rail: Take the Green Line and exit at the Damen station or exit at the Ashland station from either a Green or Pink line train.
- Get to and from these events via the #20 Madison and #50 Damen bus routes. Customers can also take the #19 United Center Express route post event.
Soldier Field
- Atlanta United FC vs. Chicago Fire FC – Sat. 4/11 at 7:30 p.m.
Service:
- Rail: The Red, Orange and Green lines provide the closest access to Soldier Field. Exit at the Roosevelt station.
- Bus: Service on the #146 Inner Lake Shore/Michigan Express route.
Wrigley Field
- Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Chicago Cubs – Fri. 4/10, Sat 4/11 and Sun. 4/12 at 1:20 p.m.
Service:
- Red Line: The Addison station is located just a half block east of Wrigley Field.
- Purple Line: Before weekday night games/events, Loop-bound Purple Line Express trains will stop at the Sheridan station.
- NEW FOR 2026: Linden-bound Purple Line Express trains will stop at Sheridan for all weekday Cubs day games. Exit out the Budweiser Bleacher Gate and walk 2.5-blocks north to Sheridan for trains to Howard and Linden. (More details)
- Yellow Line: Take the Yellow Line and transfer at Howard to the Red Line; continue to Addison station. To accommodate fans returning home, the Yellow Line will run for an hour later from Howard – until midnight – for all night games at Wrigley Field. (More details)
- #152 Addison: The #152 route will provide additional service on Cubs game days, with more frequent service two hours before and one hour after all games.
- Adjacent bus routes: Several CTA bus routes serve the Wrigley Field area, including:
- #8 Halsted
- #22 Clark
- #36 Broadway
- #80 Irving Park
- #151 Sheridan
Rate Field
- Tampa Bay Rays vs. White Sox – Tue 4/14 and Wed. 4/15 at 6:40 p.m. and Thu. 4/16 at 1:10 p.m.
Service:
- Red Line: Rate Field is just one block west of the Sox-35th station.
- Green Line: The 35th-Bronzeville-IIT station is just three blocks east of the ballpark.
- #35 31st/35th: The #35 route (which connects with Orange and Green lines) is the main bus route providing service to the stadium and operates during all game times.
- Adjacent bus routes: Several CTA bus routes serve the ballpark area, including:
- #1 Bronzeville/Union Station (during Monday – Friday rush periods only)
- #4 Cottage Grove
- #24 Wentworth (which runs Monday – Friday to 8:30 p.m.)
- #29 State
- #31 31st (which runs Monday – Friday to 7 p.m.)
- #39 Pershing (which connects with Orange and Green lines)
- #44 Wallace/Racine

Beach Service to the Lakefront
Now through mid-August, Weekend/Holiday beach service will operate directly to Chicago’s beaches on the following bus routes:

Temporary Bus Reroutes Downtown on Southbound State Street
- Starting at 9 a.m. on Mon. 4/13 until Mon. 5/25, Southbound State Street will be closed between Wacker and Randolph. (More details)
- Northbound buses are not affected.
- Buses traffic will be rerouted. Board buses as follows:
- Board southbound #2 Hyde Park Express, #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #29 State, #36 Broadway, and #62 Archer buses at State/Washington.
- Board southbound #146 Inner Lake Shore/Michigan Express and #148 Clarendon/Michigan Express buses at Michigan/Madison.
- These Southbound buses are affected due to construction.
