CTA’s trains and buses will get you to various sporting events and the No Kings March and Rally in the Loop; Construction work to temporarily impact the Red Line

CTA is a great way to move all around town. Customers can save money by purchasing an unlimited rides pass, either the 1-Day ($5) – far more economical and convenient than the price of gas and parking - or the 3-Day ($15) pass – a real budget-saving move.

Service for Upcoming Events

No Kings March and Rally

Grant Park – Sat. 3/28

Rally starts at 1:30 p.m.

  • Rail: All rail lines downtown will get you access to the race area.
    • Loop Elevated: Exit at either Washington/Wabash or Adams/Wabash
    • Red and Blue Lines: Exit at Jackson and walk a couple blocks east
  • Bus: Multiple bus routes in the area will be rerouted. For additional route information check our website: https://www.transitchicago.com/schedules/

United Center Events

  • NCAA March Madness: Sweet 16 – Fri. 3/27 at 6:35 p.m.
  • NCAA March Madness: Elite 8 – Sun. 3/29 at TBD
  • Winnipeg Jets vs. Chicago Blackhawks – Tue. 3/31 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Indiana Pacers vs. Chicago Bulls – Wed. 4/1 at 7 p.m.

Service:

  • Rail: Take the Green Line and exit at the new Damen station or exit at the Ashland station from either a Green or Pink line train.
  • Get to and from these events via the #20 Madison and #50 Damen bus routes. Customers can also take the #19 United Center Express route post event.

Soldier Field

  • Mexico vs. Belgium Soccer – Tue. 3/31 at 8 p.m.

Service:

  • Rail: The Red, Orange and Green lines provide the closest access to Soldier Field. Exit at the Roosevelt station.
  • Bus: Service on the #146 Inner Lake Shore/Michigan Express route.

Wrigley Field

  • Washington Nationals vs. Chicago Cubs – Fri. 3/27 at 1:20 p.m.
  • Los Angeles Angels vs. Chicago Cubs – Mon. 3/30 and Tue. 3/31 at 6:40 p.m. and Wed. 4/1 at 1:20 p.m.

Service:

  • Red Line: The Addison station is located just a half block east of Wrigley Field.
  • Purple Line: Before weekday night games/events, Loop-bound Purple Line Express trains will stop at the Sheridan station.
    • NEW FOR 2026: Linden-bound Purple Line Express trains will stop at Sheridan for all weekday Cubs day games. Exit out the Budweiser Bleacher Gate and walk 2.5-blocks north to Sheridan for trains to Howard and Linden. (More details)
  • Yellow Line: Take the Yellow Line and transfer at Howard to the Red Line; continue to Addison station. To accommodate fans returning home, the Yellow Line will run for an hour later from Howard – until midnight – for all night games at Wrigley Field. (More details)
  • #152 Addison:  The #152 route will provide additional service on Cubs game days, with more frequent service two hours before and one hour after all games.
  • Adjacent bus routes: Several CTA bus routes serve the Wrigley Field area, including:
  • #8 Halsted
  • #22 Clark
  • #36 Broadway
  • #80 Irving Park
  • #151 Sheridan

Beach Service to the Lakefront

Starting Sun. 3/29 through mid-August, Weekend/Holiday beach service will operate directly to Chicago’s beaches on the following bus routes:

Weekend Work to Temporarily Impact Red Line Service

  • Between 10 p.m. Fri. 3/27 to 8 a.m. Sat. 3/28, Howard-bound trains will not stop at the Addison station. (More details)
    • For service to this station, take a Howard-bound train to Sheridan or Wilson and transfer to a 95th-bound train.
    • For service from this station, take a 95th-bound train to Belmont and transfer to a Howard-bound train.
    • Consider using the adjacent Red Line stations at Sheridan and Belmont, where trains in both directions will continue to stop.
  • At the Sheridan station, board/exit trains in both directions on the Howard-bound platform.
  • These service changes are due to track maintenance to ensure that trains continue to operate safely along the Red Line.
