Headed to Lollapalooza? Don’t Forget Your ‘Wallet’!

To celebrate four days of amazing music in Chicago, CTA to offer special Lollapalooza farecard ‘wallets’ to customers purchasing 1-, 3-, 7- or 30-day unlimited ride passes

CTA is ready to get music fans to their favorite bands at Lollapalooza this week, and to celebrate will offer for the first time free, limited-edition, commemorative farecard wallets to customers who buy CTA 1-, 3-, 7- or 30-day unlimited-ride passes.

CTA is the best way to get to the fest--all day and every day. It’s fast. It’s convenient. It’s affordable. And, CTA unlimited-ride passes are a great value for Lolla fans. A 7-day pass will cover the entire fest, including trips to after-shows. Three-day (72-hour) and one-day (24-hour) passes are also a great value – the more you ride, the more you save!

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, August 2-4, CTA will sell Ventra unlimited-ride tickets at select ‘L’ locations from sales tables. Any rider purchasing a 1-day, 3-day or 7-day unlimited ride pass will receive the wallet free. The free wallets will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following locations (while supplies last):

  • Wednesday: O’Hare (Blue Line) and Chicago (Red Line)
  • Thursday: O’Hare (Blue Line) and Roosevelt (Red/Green/Orange, elevated station entrance)
  • Friday: Lake (Red Line, Lake-Randolph mezzanine entrance) and Midway (Orange Line)


Sales tables accept cash only. Vending machines at the station accept cash or credit cards. Passes can also be purchased via the Ventra app and Ventra website.

Getting to Lollapalooza

Several CTA trains and buses conveniently stop near the festival site in Grant Park, and we’re running extra train and bus service so you don’t miss your favorite band.

If you’re taking Metra downtown, good news! -- CTA buses provide easy connections with and quick trips to and from Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center.
