The annual Grant Park Music Festival begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 19, and extra CTA buses on three routes will be available to serve concertgoers after every performance of the 1999 season through Saturday, August 21.
Grant Park concerts are held in the Petrillo Music Shell, at Jackson and Columbus Drives, a block east of Michigan Avenue and just north of Buckingham Fountain. The music shell can be reached from almost any bus and 'L' line that serves the Loop at times the concerts are being offered.
Following each concert, extra buses on the #6 Jeffery Express, #146 Marine/ Michigan and #151 Sheridan routes will await riders westbound on Jackson just west of Lake Shore Drive, directly adjacent to the music shell.
After customers have finished boarding, buses on the #6 Jeffery Express route will turn south from Jackson onto Columbus and proceed over the regular route to the Far South Side.
#146 Marine/Michigan and #151 Sheridan buses will go west on Jackson and then north via Michigan, inner Lake Shore, Stockton and Sheridan en route to their regular North Side destinations.
