Extra CTA buses will serve the annual Grant Park Music Festival, which begins Saturday, June 17. Most concerts are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. throughout the 2000 season, which continues through Saturday, August 19.
The concerts are held in the Petrillo Music Shell, at Jackson and Columbus Drives, a block east of Michigan Avenue and just north of Buckingham Fountain. The music shell can be reached from any bus or 'L' line that serves the Loop.
Extra buses on the #6 Jeffery Express, #146 Marine/Michigan and #151 Sheridan routes will await concertgoers after each performance at Jackson and Columbus Drives. Departing #6 Jeffery Express buses will operate south on Columbus and proceed over the regular route to the South Side.
During Celebrate on State, June 17 and 18, extra #146 Marine/Michigan and #151 Sheridan buses leaving the Grant Park Music Festival will go west on Jackson and then north via Michigan, inner Lake Shore, Stockton and Sheridan en route to their regular North Side destinations. At other times the buses will operate via Michigan, Adams, State, and Washington before returning to Michigan to continue their trips north.
