10/01/99

Track repairs at Austin Boulevard, near the west end of the Forest Park (Congress) branch CTA's Blue Line, will require replacing trains with free bus shuttle service between the Cicero station and the Forest Park terminal from late Friday, October 1, through early Monday, October 4.

Blue Line trains will operate as far west as Cicero Avenue in Chicago, where customers will change to buses for free shuttle service to the rail stations at Austin, Oak Park Avenue, Harlem and Forest Park.

The free bus shuttle service will be in effect from 9:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, through 4:00 a.m. Monday, October 4 while the repair work is taking place. During this period, customers traveling west of the Cicero station should allow 10 to 15 minutes of extra travel time.

Notices about the track work and the free bus shuttle service are being posted at each of the four affected rail stations and on Blue Line trains. Bus shuttle service frequency will correspond to the appropriate weekday, Saturday or Sunday train schedule.

Track work at other locations on the Forest Park branch of the Blue Line will be scheduled for other weekends later this year.
