07/31/01

Extra CTA buses on the #130 Grant Park Treasures and #146 Marine/Michigan Express routes will operate to the south end of Grant Park for the Radiohead concert at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, featuring the Beta Band and Kid Koala. The concert will be held at Arvey Field, on Columbus just north of Roosevelt.

From 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., extra buses on the #130 route will operate every few minutes from the Ogilvie Transportation Center (North Western Station) and Union Station to Columbus/Roosevelt.

#130 buses, which regularly run only on summer weekends and holidays, stop for Ogilvie Center westbound on Madison between Canal and Clinton and for Union Station eastbound on Jackson at Canal. For the concert Wednesday they will go east on Jackson, south on Michigan, and east on Roosevelt to a stop northbound on Columbus adjacent to Arvey Field.

After the concert ends, #130 buses will await customers southbound on Columbus at Roosevelt for return trips to both Metra stations.

Also serving Arvey Field for the concerts will be shuttle buses on the #146 route, which will supplement regular service southbound on State from Kinzie.

Operating every few minutes from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., extra #146 buses will continue south on State to Roosevelt and go east to Columbus, where they will stop northbound adjacent to Arvey Field.

After the concert ends, #146 shuttle buses will await customers southbound on Columbus at Roosevelt for trips to State Street downtown, where transfers can be made to other CTA service.

Arvey Field can also be reached from fully accessible Red, Green and Orange Line 'L' stations at Roosevelt, which are about three blocks west of Columbus on Roosevelt.
