EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE STARTING THURSDAY, AUGUST 9

Orange Line Trains Detoured to Inner Loop Tracks after 8 p.m. August 9-11 Canopy work over the inner Loop 'L' tracks at Randolph/Wells will require Orange Line trains to operate on the outer Loop tracks from 8 p.m. until service ends around midnight Thursday, August 9, through Saturday, August 11. During this time, Orange Line trains will make their first Loop stop northbound at Adams/Wabash. They will then stop at all station platforms opposite the ones they usually serve as they proceed north on Wabash, west on Lake, south on Wells and east on Van Buren back to Wabash for trips south to Midway.

Signal Work Affects Red Line Subway Early Saturday and SundaySignal renewal work will require Red Line trains to use a single track while serving subway stations from Roosevelt to Lake from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday, August 11, and from 1:30 a.m. until 8 a.m. Sunday, August 12. During this time, trains will operate approximately every 20 minutes in both directions.

Bud Billiken Parade Detours Six Bus Routes Saturday, August 11#3 King Drive, #28 Stony Island, #43 43rd, #47 47th#51 51st, and #55 Garfield routes will be affected. (See attached release for details.)

Overnight Sewer Cleaning Affects Blue Line Saturday, August 11 Sewer cleaning in the Blue Line subway will require trains on the O'Hare branch to use a single track while serving the Grand, Chicago and Division stations from 10 p.m. Saturday, August 11, until 10 a.m. Sunday, August 12.

Buses Detoured Off Washington for Bridge Work Sunday, August 12Maintenance work will close the Washington Street bridge across the Chicago River Sunday, August 12, from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. During this time eastbound #20 Madisonand #56 Milwaukee buses will be detoured via Canal, Lake and Wacker back to the regular route at Washington.

Buses Detoured Off State At Night for Bridge Work August 12-13Maintenance work will close the State Street bridge Sunday and Monday nights from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. During this time, #29 Statebuses will be detoured northbound via Randolph, Dearborn and Kinzie back to State, and southbound from Grand via Wabash and Randolph to State. #36 Broadway buses will operate south via Hubbard, Clark and Lake back to State. #62 Archer buses will end their trips downtown via Dearborn and Lake to State.

Buses Detoured Off Division At Night for Bridge Work August 12-15#70 Division buses will be detoured off Division for bridge work from 10 p.m. through 6 a.m. nightly from Sunday, August 12, through early Thursday, August 16. When the bridge over the North Branch of the river east of Elston is closed from late Sunday through early Tuesday, #70 buses will be detoured via Elston, Milwaukee, Chicago and Halsted to Division in both directions. When the bridge over the Canal just west of Halsted is closed from Tuesday night through early Thursday, the detour will be via Hooker and Halsted to Division.

Sewer Work at Aldine Detours Buses Off Broadway August 13-16Sewer construction on Broadway at Aldine will detour #36 Broadway buses off Broadway via Belmont, Lake Shore and Addison to Broadway in both directions from 9 a.m. Monday, August 13, through 4 p.m. Thursday, August 16.
