EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE STARTING THE WEEKEND OF OCTOBER 19-21

Line Trains Starting Friday Night Track work at Kedzie will require trains on the Forest Park Branch of the Blue Line to use a single track while serving the Western and Kedzie stations from 10 p.m. Friday, October 19, until 2 a.m., Monday, October 22. During this period, every other train from O'Hare will operate only to UIC-Halsted, while the rest will continue to the terminal at Forest Park. Trains will run every 10 to 15 minutes between O'Hare and UIC-Halsted, and every 20 to 30 minutes between UIC-Halsted and Forest Park.

Brown and Orange Line Trains Detoured Off Wells For Canopy WorkThe removal of a protective canopy at Randolph/Wells will require Brown and Orange Line trains to serve stations only on the Lake and Wabash sides of the Loop Saturday and Sunday, October 20-21. During this period, trains will operate on a through route from Kimball to Midway. Shuttle buses will be available to take customers from the Clark/Lake and Adams/Wabash stations to the vicinity of closed stations at Washington/Wells, Quincy/Wells, LaSalle/Van Buren and Library-State/Van Buren.

Race for the Cure Will Delay Buses in South Loop Area Saturday MorningNine CTA bus routes that operate through the South Loop area will be delayed from time to time Saturday morning, October 20, by the Race for the Cure, which is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. Beginning and ending on Columbus between Balbo and Roosevelt, the race will proceed along a circuitous route bounded by Columbus on the east, Balbo on the north, Clark on the west and Cullerton on the south. The affected bus routes are #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove, #6 Jeffery Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #12 Roosevelt, #18 16th/18th, #29 State, #62 Archer and #146 Marine/Michigan Express.

Construction Detours Westbound Buses Off Foster from Ashland to Damen Viaduct construction on Foster at Ravenswood that began this week will continue until about December 1, detouring #50 Damen and #92 Foster buses off Foster westbound only. Westbound #92 Foster buses are being detoured via Ashland, Lawrence and Damen back to Foster. #50 Damen buses are starting their southbound trips west on Bryn Mawr from Clark to Damen, where they then return to the regular route southbound on Damen. Buses on both routes will continue to use Foster eastbound, sharing a single lane with other traffic.
