Cleaning Affects Red Line Subway Overnight Friday and SaturdaySewer cleaning in the State Street subway will require Red Line trains to use a single track between Grand and Clark/Division from 11 p.m. Friday, October 18 until 5 a.m. Saturday, October 19 and from 11 p.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday. The work will affect trains serving stations at Clark/Division, Chicago and Grand.
Weekend Construction Closes California and Central Park from 19th to 21st Construction work will close California and Central Park between 19th and 21st from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, October 19 until 5 a.m. Monday, October 21. Buses in both directions on the #94 South California route will be detoured via Cermak, Marshall, Sacramento and Ogden to California. #82 Kimball/Homan buses will be detoured off Central Park via Cermak, Kedzie and 16th to Central Park.
Crane Lift Closes Northbound State Saturday from Congress to Van Buren A crane lifting equipment to the roof of a building at 401 South State will close the northbound lanes of State between Congress and Van Buren from 8:30 a.m. until about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 19. #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #29 State, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Marine/Michigan Express and #147 Outer Drive Express buses will be detoured via Congress, Dearborn and Jackson to State before returning to their regular routes northbound on State.
Halloween Happening Parade Affects Downtown Traffic at Midday Saturday The Halloween Happening Parade will be held downtown Saturday, October 19 from 11 a.m. until about 12:45 p.m. The parade will proceed south on State from Randolph, west on Monroe, and north on Dearborn to the Daley Center at Washington. All buses using State, Dearborn, Madison and Washington will be affected for brief periods as the parade passes and before each street is reopened to traffic. CTA customers should allow extra time for their trips.
Construction Affects Brown Line at Armitage Sunday, October 20Construction at Ogden will require Brown Line trains to use a single track while serving the Armitage station throughout the day until 6 p.m. Sunday, October 20.
Viaduct Work Affects Sox-35th Red Line Station Starting October 21Reconstruction will close the 35th Street entrance to the Sox-35th Red Line Station at the Dan Ryan Expressway beginning Monday, October 21 and continuing until April, 2003. During this period Red Line customers using the Sox-35th station will board and exit trains at the 33rd Street entrance to the station. #35 35th buses will be detoured to serve the station eastbound off 35th via Shields, 33rd, Wentworth, Pershing and LaSalle to 35th. Westbound buses will operate via LaSalle, 33rd and Wentworth back to 35th. Both east and westbound #39 Pershing buses will operate off Pershing via LaSalle, 33rd and Wentworth back to Pershing.
