Sewer Work Closes Grand at Orleans Late Friday Until Early TuesdayGrand Avenue will be closed for sewer construction between Orleans and Union from 7 p.m. Friday, January 17 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, January 21. #65 Grand buses will be detoured off Grand in both directions via Orleans, Chicago and Halsted back to Grand. For about eight weeks starting Tuesday, January 21, #65 buses will follow the same detour westbound only.
Construction Closes Western at 21st Over the Weekend and Week NightsConstruction on the Cermak (Douglas) branch of the Blue Line will close Western between 21st and Cullerton from 10 p.m. Friday, January 17 until 6 a.m. Monday, January 20, and overnight Monday through Friday, January 20-24 from 7:30 p.m. until 7 a.m. #49 Western and #X49 Western Express buses will be detoured northbound via Cermak, Hoyne and 19th back to Western, and southbound via 18th, Hoyne and Cermak to Western.
Structure Work Affects Near North Side Brown Line Service SundayStructural work will require Brown Line trains to use a single track while serving the stations at Sedgwick and at Chicago Avenue from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, January 19. During this period, trains will operate every 15 minutes instead of 10 minutes apart.
Construction Closes Columbus from Balbo to Roosevelt Starting Sunday Construction of a new pedestrian underpass to the Museum Campus will close Columbus between Balbo and Roosevelt starting at 5 p.m. Sunday, January 19 and continuing through June. Buses that regularly use Columbus will be detoured to Michigan between Balbo and Roosevelt. The affected routes are #2 Hyde Park Express, #6 Jeffery Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #14 South Lake Shore Express, #127 NW/Madison and #146 Marine/Michigan Express.
