EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE OVER THE WEEKEND OF MAY 10 - 12

'L' Structure Work at Wells/Wacker Delayed Until Weekend of May 17-19 Due to forecasted storms, the Chicago Department of Transportation has postponed the installation of a new 'L' structure at Wells and Wacker until next weekend, May 17-19. Regular Brown Line service will operate to the Loop over the weekend of May 10-12.

Bus Service Across Franklin/Orleans Bridge Delayed until Monday, May 13Due to a delay in the reopening of the Franklin/Orleans Bridge across the Chicago River, northbound #37 Sedgwick/Ogden and #125 Water Tower Express buses will remain on their detoured routing Friday, May 10. Starting in the morning rush period Monday, May 13, buses on both routes will return to Franklin for trips north. #125 buses will reach Franklin via Canal and Washington.

Ongoing Late Night Track Work Affects Red Line Trains North of Granville Ongoing track work will require northbound Red Line trains to bypass stations at Loyola, Morse and Jarvis from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Thursday and Friday nights, May 9 -10, and again Monday through Friday, May 13 - 17. Customers intending to exit northbound trains at the bypassed stations should ride north to Howard and change to a southbound train. Customers traveling north from the stations should ride a southbound train to Granville and change to a northbound train.

Construction Closes Pulaski at Cermak Over Next Two Weekends #53 Pulaski buses will be detoured for the next two weekends by construction on the Cermak (Douglas) branch of the Blue Line north of Cermak. From 1 a.m. Saturday, May 11, until 3 a.m. Monday, May 13, and during the same hours May 18 ? 20, northbound buses will be detoured off Pulaski via Cermak, Kostner, and 16th back to Pulaski. Southbound buses will make the same detour in reverse.

Helicopter Lift Detours Buses Off Michigan at Van Buren Early SaturdayMichigan will be closed in both directions between Van Buren and Congress from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. Saturday, May 11, for a helicopter lift, detouring six bus routes. #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove and #6 Jeffery Express buses will travel north via Michigan, Congress, State and Monroe to Michigan. #126 Jackson buses will end their downtown trips via Jackson, State and Monroe to Michigan before starting new trips west on Adams. #3, #4, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express and #147 Outer Drive Express buses will travel south via Michigan, Adams, State and Congress back to Michigan.

Weekend Service Resumes Saturday for Buses to Grant Park Museums Weekend/holiday service on the #130 Grant Park Treasures bus route between Ogilvie Transportation Center (North Western Station), Union Station and the downtown lakefront museums, will resume Saturday, May 11, and continue through Labor Day, September 2. Starting westbound on Madison in front of the Ogilvie Center, #130 buses leave every 15 minutes from 9:35 a.m. on Saturdays and 10:35 a.m. Sundays/holidays. After stopping for Union Station on Jackson at Canal, #130 buses proceed via Jackson, State, Congress, Michigan, Balbo and Columbus to the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium. #130 buses make return trips from the Planetarium to the stations until 6:05 p.m.

Weekend Bus Service to 63rd Street Beach Starts Saturday, May 11 #63 63rd buses will begin serving the 63rd Street beach on weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. until 9:30 p.m., starting Saturday, May 11, and continuing through Sunday, September 29. At other times, #63 buses, which are equipped with bicycle racks, will end their trips at 63rd/Stony Island.

Sewer Work Affects Red Line Subway Overnight Saturday, May 11 Overnight sewer cleaning in the State Street subway will require all Red Line trains to use the northbound track between Lake and Roosevelt from 10 p.m. Saturday, May 11, until 6 a.m. Sunday, May 12. During this period, trains will run 15 minutes apart in both directions while serving stations at Lake, Washington, Monroe, Jackson, Harrison and Roosevelt.

Y-Me Race Sunday Morning Detours Buses Off Columbus Columbus Drive will be closed between Roosevelt and Balbo from early Sunday, May 12, until 1 p.m. for the Y-Me Race in Grant Park. During this period, buses on the #6 Jeffery Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #130 Grant Park Treasures and #146 Marine/Michigan Express routes will use Michigan instead of Columbus between Roosevelt and Balbo.
