Structure Work Affects Blue Line O'Hare Branch at Damen SundayStructural work on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line between Damen and Armitage will require trains to use a single track while serving stations at Damen and Western from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, March 24. Blue Line customers should allow extra time to complete their trips. From 6 a.m. until 9 a.m. Sunday, Damen Avenue will be closed beneath the 'L' tracks, detouring #50 Damen buses via Division, Ashland, and Milwaukee back to Damen in both directions.
Shamrock Shuffle Race Affects Traffic Through West Loop Sunday Preparations for the Shamrock Shuffle Race will close Columbus Drive from Roosevelt to Monroe Sunday, March 24, from about 6 a.m. until 1 p.m., detouring #6 Jeffery Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry and #146 Marine/Michigan Express buses from Columbus to Michigan between Roosevelt and Balbo. The race itself will start at about 9:30 a.m. via Columbus, Monroe, Aberdeen, Adams, Racine, Jackson, Dearborn and Monroe back to Columbus. Buses on 15 routes that operate on or cross streets used by the racers may be delayed for up to 15 minutes at a time, but will remain on their routes.
Hellenic Heritage Parade Closes Halsted at Randolph Sunday Afternoon Three CTA bus routes that operate on or cross Halsted will be detoured Sunday afternoon for the Hellenic Heritage Parade that will proceed south on Halsted from Randolph to Van Buren, starting at 2:30 p.m. #8 Halsted buses will be detoured northbound via Harrison, Jefferson and Lake back to Halsted, and southbound via Lake, Desplaines, and Harrison to Halsted. #20 Madison buses will be detoured westbound via Jefferson, Lake and Morgan back to Madison, and eastbound via Morgan, Lake and Desplaines to Washington. #126 Jackson buses will be detoured eastbound via Morgan, Harrison and Jefferson to Jackson, and westbound via Desplaines, Harrison, and Morgan to Van Buren.
Construction Closes Belmont at Kedzie Sunday and Cicero Monday Viaduct reconstruction will close Belmont just east of Kedzie from 8 p.m. Sunday, March 24, until 6 a.m. Monday, March 25, and during the same hours overnight Monday, detouring #77 Belmont buses off Belmont in both directions via Kedzie, Diversey and California back to Belmont. Starting Monday, March 25, and continuing for about four weeks, Belmont will also be closed eastbound only for sewer work east of Cicero. During this period eastbound buses will be detoured via Cicero, Addison, Milwaukee and Pulaski back to Belmont.
