EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE OVER THE WEEKEND OF DECEMBER 14 - 16

#19 Buses Serve United Center for Concerts Thursday and Friday Nights CTA will operate its #19 United Center Express buses to the United Center for the Q101 Twisted 8 concert at 5:15 p.m.Thursday, December 13, and for the WGCI Big Jam 2 concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, December 14. Starting about two hours before each event, and continuing until 30 minutes before the concert, #19 buses will operate every 12 minutes, southbound on Michigan from Chicago. Additional stops are made on Michigan at Illinois and Randolph before the buses turn west on Madison and stop at Wabash, State, Wells and Clinton. Buses then run express to the United Center. After the concerts, #19 buses will make return trips downtown and to North Michigan Avenue via Madison, Green and Washington to Michigan, where all stops are made north to Chicago.

Sewer Work Affects Blue Line Subway Service Late Friday and SaturdaySewer cleaning in the Dearborn subway will require Blue Line trains to use a single track while serving the Clark/Lake, Washington, Monroe and Jackson stations from 10 p.m. Friday, December 14, until 6 a.m. Saturday, December 15, and during the same hours late Saturday into Sunday morning.

Extra Buses on South Cicero for Later Hours at Ford City December 15-16 Later service will be provided on the #54B South Cicero bus route to accommodate extended hours at the Ford City Mall Saturday and Sunday, December 15 -16. For the 11 p.m. mall closing on Saturday, an extra #54B bus will leave the mall at 12:03 a.m. for a trip north to Archer. For the 10 p.m. mall closing Sunday, extra #54B buses will leave Ford City about every 20 minutes from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. for trips north to Cermak, and then every 20 minutes until 11 p.m. for trips north to Archer. CTA's #79 79th buses, which also serve Ford City, regularly operate to the mall until 12:30 a.m. nightly.
