EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE OVER THE LABOR DAY WEEKEND

CTA To Operate on a Sunday Schedule Labor Day, Monday, September 2All CTA buses and trains will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule for Labor Day, Monday, September 2.

Extra Service for Jazz Festival in Grant Park Thursday through SundayExtra CTA buses will provide service for the annual Chicago Jazz Festival in Grant Park Thursday, August 29, through Sunday, September 1.

Changes Begin This Weekend for Bus Routes Serving Lakefront Beaches will have the following changes in service: Weekday service to the 63rd Street and North Avenue beaches will end Friday, August 30. #63 63rd and #72 North buses will continue to serve the beaches on weekends through Sunday, September 29. Service to the Montrose beach by #78 Montrose buses will end for the season on Saturday, August 31.

Museum and Navy Pier service changes include: #10 Museum of Science & Industry buses will end weekday service to the Museum at 57th and Lake Shore on Friday, August 30. Weekend/holiday #10 service to the Museum continues to operate year-round (except on Chirstmas Day). Labor Day, Monday, September 2, will be the last day of service for #124 Navy Pier Express buses to Navy Pier and for #130 Grant Park Treasures buses that serve downtown lakefront museums on weekends from May through August.

Visitors can continue to use CTA service to reach lakefront museums and Navy Pier by the following means: The Museum of Science & Industry is served daily by #6 Jeffery Express buses that operate south through downtown on State. Navy Pier is served by buses on the #29 State, #56 Milwaukee, #65 Grand and #66 Chicago routes. Downtown lakefront museums are served by #146 Marine/Michigan Express buses that operate through downtown on State.

Cleaning Affects Red Line Subway Overnight Friday and SaturdaySewer cleaning in the State Street subway will require Red Line trains to use a single track between Lake and Roosevelt from 11 p.m. Friday, August 30 until 7 a.m. Saturday, August 31, and during the same period overnight Saturday. Trains will operate every 15 minutes in both directions while serving the stations at Lake, Washington, Monroe, Jackson, Harrison and Roosevelt.

Fiesta Boricua Causes Detours for Division and California Buses Sunday The Fiesta Boricua will close Division from Western to California Sunday, resulting in the detour of #70 Division buses in both directions via Humboldt, Augusta, and Western to Division. #52 Kedzie/California buses will also be detoured in both directions via Augusta, Western and North to California.

Street Work Closes Homan North of Roosevelt Starting Tuesday Street reconstruction will close Homan between Arthington and Grenshaw starting Tuesday, September 3, and continuing through early next year. Northbound #82 Kimball/Homan buses will be detoured off Homan via Roosevelt, Kedzie, and Congress back to Homan. Southbound buses will be detoured via Harrison, Kedzie and Roosevelt to Homan.
