Events Affecting CTA Service Memorial Day Weekend May 27 - 30

#24 Wentworth Buses Resume Normal Routing Beginning FridayConstruction on Clark between Polk and 15th Street has ended. #24 Wentworth buses will return to their normal routing beginning at 5 a.m. Friday, May 27.

Madison Street Bridge Repairs Suspended over Holiday WeekendRepairs to the Madison Street bridge over the Chicago River will be suspended Friday, May 27 and Monday, May 30 for the Memorial Day holiday. Repairs will resume on Tuesday, June 1 and the bridge will be closed from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. weekdays until Monday, June 6. The closures will affect buses on the #14 Jeffery Express, #20 Madison, #56 Milwaukee, #60 Blue Island, #124 Navy Pier?and #157 Streeterville routes.

#124 Navy Pier Bus Route Operates Later Summer Hours Beginning FridayThe #124 Navy Pier bus route will operate until midnight instead of 10:30 p.m. from Navy Pier to the downtown Metra stations beginning Friday, May 27 through Labor Day, Monday, September 5. The last bus will leave Union Station at 11:30 p.m. weeknights and at 11:35 p.m. Saturday and Sunday nights.

Memorial Day Parade Closes Several Downtown Streets SaturdayState Street and its cross streets from Wacker Drive to Van Buren will be closed from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28 for the Memorial Day Parade. Buses on the #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #14 Jeffery Express, #20 Madison, #29 State, #36 Broadway, #56 Milwaukee, #60 Blue Island/26th, #62 Archer, #124 Navy Pier, #126 Jackson, #130 Grant Park Treasures, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan routes will operate on adjacent streets. CTA supervisors will be available to provide assistance for the duration of the parade.

Additional Service Provided for International Soccer Game Saturday Additional service will be provided on the #130 Grant Park Treasures bus route for an international soccer game between the United States and the United Kingdom Saturday, May 28 at 2 p.m. The additional bus service will begin at noon and continue until one hour after the game ends or as crowds warrant.

Lake Shore Drive Closes for ?Bike the Drive? SundayLake Shore Drive will be closed between Bryn Mawr and 57th Street from 5 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 29 for ?Bike the Drive." The ride begins and ends in Grant Park at Columbus/Balbo. Several CTA bus routes will be rerouted during the event.

#6 Jackson Park Express buses will operate in both directions via Lake Park, 47th, King Drive, Cermak, Michigan, then resume the regular route.

#10 Museum of Science & Industry buses will operate in both directions via Michigan, Cermak, King Drive, 47th, Lake Park, 56th, Stony Island, 57th, Cornell to the west parking lot of the museum, where they will begin their return trips.

#12 Roosevelt buses will operate in both directions via Michigan, 14th, Indiana, back to Roosevelt then resume the regular route. Customers wishing to go to the Museum Campus should get off the #12 bus at Roosevelt/Michigan and walk one block north to the pedestrian walkway at 11th/Michigan.

#14 Jeffery Express buses will operate in both directions via Lake Shore Drive, 47th, Indiana, 31st, Michigan, to Madison, then resume the regular route. Customers can use the pedestrian walkway at 11th/Michigan to access the Museum Campus.

#55 Garfield buses will operate in both directions via 55th, Stony Island, 57th, Cornell into the west parking lot of the Museum of Science and Industry where they will begin their return trips.

#81 Lawrence buses will operate in both directions via Lawrence, Clarendon, Wilson to Marine, then resume the regular route.

#84 Peterson buses will operate in both directions via Sheridan, Foster, Broadway, Berwyn, Sheridan to Bryn Mawr, then resume the regular route.

#130 Grant Park Treasures buses will operate in both directions via Roosevelt, Michigan, 14th, Indiana, back to Roosevelt, then resume the regular route.

#145 Wilson/Michigan Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will operate in both directions via Melrose, Inner Lake Shore Drive, Sheridan, Stockton, LaSalle, Inner Lake Shore Drive, Michigan, then resume the regular route. The #146 will operate only to Michigan/Roosevelt instead of the Museum Campus. Customers on the #146 wishing to visit the Museum Campus should get off at 11th/Michigan and use the pedestrian walkway.

#147 Outer Drive Express buses will operate in both directions via Marine, Inner Lake Shore Drive, Sheridan, Stockton, LaSalle, Inner Lake Shore Drive, Michigan, then resume the regular route.

Customers participating in ?Bike the Drive? can use CTA to get there. All CTA buses have bike racks mounted on the front of buses that can carry two bicycles. CTA trains also allow bicycles. The two-bike limit on rail cars will be relaxed from 3 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday on all CTA rail lines. CTA rail operators will determine whether a bike will fit on a rail car or if the car is too crowded.

Run and Parade Close Streets in Beverly on MondayLongwood will be closed between 96th and 111th Streets from 8 a.m. until noon Monday, May 30 for the Beverly Ridge Run and Memorial Day Parade. #103 West 103rd buses will operate in both directions via 103rd, Beverly, 95th, Western, back to 103rd, then resume the regular route.

#112 Vincennes buses will operate in both directions via Vincennes, 115th, Western, back to 115th, then resume the regular route.

Parade Closes Bryn Mawr MondayBryn Mawr will be closed between Clark and Ashland from 10 a.m. until noon Monday for the AMVETS Post 243 Memorial Day Parade. Northbound #50 Damen buses will operate via Foster, Damen, Clark, Catalpa, Ashland, back to Foster, then resume the regular route. Southbound service will not be affected.

Summer Weekday Service to Museum of Science and Industry ResumesSummer weekday service on the #10 Museum of Science & Industry bus route resumes Tuesday, May 31 and runs through Labor Day. Buses operate every 15 - 30 minutes weekdays and every 15 minutes weekends and holidays beginning at 8:55 a.m. from Michigan/Delaware Monday through Saturday. Sunday service begins at 9:25 a.m. During these expanded summer service hours, the last bus will leave the Museum of Science and Industry to downtown at 6:10 p.m. #10 buses operate year-round on weekends and holidays, except Christmas Day and on weekdays from Thanksgiving through New Year's Day.

Overnight Track Maintenance Temporarily Closes Three Southbound Red Line Platforms Beginning TuesdayTrack maintenance on the north end of the Red Line will take place from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. each night from Tuesday night, May 31 through Thursday night, June 2. As a result, southbound trains will not stop at the Granville, Thorndale and Bryn Mawr stations. During these hours, customers wishing to exit at those stations will need to travel to the Berwyn station and transfer to northbound trains back to those stations.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Forest Park Branch of the Blue Line Beginning TuesdayDue to track maintenance, single track service will be in effect eastbound between Pulaski and Kedzie from 9 p.m. until 4:30 a.m. each night from Tuesday, May 31 through Thursday, June 2.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Next WeekDue to track maintenance on the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect northbound between 45th and 33rd Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Tuesday night, May 31 and southbound during the same hours and in the same location Wednesday night, June 1. Single track service will be in effect during those same hours southbound between 45th and 55th Streets Thursday night, June 2.

63rd Street Closed for CSX Railroad Viaduct Repairs 63rd Street is closed westbound only between Damen and Western from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. weekdays until Friday, June 24. Westbound #63 63rd buses are operating via 63rd, Damen, 59th, Western, back to 63rd, then resuming the regular route. Eastbound service is not affected.

Jeffery Boulevard Closed for Sewer Construction Jeffery Boulevard is closed between 87th and 93rd Streets through July 15. #14 Jeffery Express and #15 Jeffery Local buses are operating in both directions via Jeffery, 93rd, Stony Island, 87th, back to Jeffery, then resuming the regular route.

Lake Red Line Subway Entrance Temporarily Closed for RenovationsThe Lake Street station entrance to the Red Line is temporarily closed and is only available as an exit during all hours until late summer. Customers are encouraged to use the adjacent Red Line subway station entrance at Washington.

Trains continue to stop at the Lake Street subway station during all hours.Customers wishing to exit at the north end of the Lake station should walk north and use the newly renovated stairway. They also may enter and exit at the Randolph/Washington exit at the south end of the station.
