Other Events Affecting Service
CTA Provides Service to Health and Fitness Expo and LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon
CTA is a convenient travel option to the Health and Fitness Expo on Friday and Saturday, October 5 and 6, and for spectators and participants heading to The LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 7.
More frequent service on the #3 King Drive route will operate between McCormick Place and Chicago and Michigan streets for the Health and Fitness Expo from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, October 5 and again from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, October 6.
On Sunday, the marathon begins at 8 a.m. just north of Jackson on Columbus Drive with the course winding through numerous city neighborhoods.
Earlier service will operate on the #3 King Drive. Bus routes in the vicinity of the marathon also will be impacted with intermittent reroutes and/or delays. CTA will operate longer trains to accommodate spectators.
CTA recommends customers allow extra travel time.

Cubs Host Diamondbacks in NLDS Playoff Games
The Chicago Cubs will host the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 3 of the National League Division Series on Saturday, October 6 at 5:07 p.m. and again on Sunday at 12:07 p.m.
(if necessary).
More frequent service will operate on CTA's Red Line which provides direct service to Wrigley Field via the accessible station at Addison; however, customers should expect more crowded trains Sunday due to The LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon and allow extra travel time. Fans can transfer to Red Line trains from all other rail lines and from most east-west bus routes.
Several CTA bus routes also provide convenient service to Wrigley Field: #152 Addison; #154 Wrigley Field Express; #8 Halsted buses which operate north on Halsted from 79th Street to Broadway/Waveland; and #22 Clark buses which operate north through the Loop on Dearborn and south on Clark from Howard.

Weekend Brown Line Single Track in Effect
A two-phase single track will be in effect between the Merchandise Mart and Sedgwick stations on the Brown Line from 5:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 6.
From 5:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. southbound customers boarding at the Sedgwick and Chicago stations will board on the northbound platform.
From 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. northbound customers boarding at the Chicago and Sedgwick stations will board on the southbound platform.
CTA recommends customers allow extra travel time.
Late Night Single Tracks in Effect on Blue Line Next Week
O'Hare Branch
A single track will be in effect between the Addison and Montrose stations on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line from 11 p.m. Tuesday, October 9 until 4 a.m. Wednesday morning and again in the same location during the same hours on Thursday, October 11 to 4 a.m. Friday morning.
Northbound customers boarding at the Irving Park station should board on the southbound side of the platform.
CTA recommends customers allow extra travel time. Southbound service is not affected.
Forest Park Branch
A single track will be in effect between the UIC-Halsted and LaSalle stations on the Forest Park branch of the Blue Line from 11 p.m. Monday, October 8 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, October 9.
Northbound customers at the UIC-Halsted, Clinton and LaSalle stations should board and exit all trains on the southbound side of the platform.
Southbound service is not affected.
From 11 p.m. Wednesday, October 10 until 4 a.m. Thursday morning a single track will be in effect between the LaSalle and Halsted stations.
Southbound customers at the LaSalle, Clinton and Halsted stations should board trains on the northbound side of the platform.
Northbound service is not affected.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Red Line Trains Temporarily Reroute at Sheridan
Southbound Red Line trains will operate on the Purple Line tracks at Sheridan from 10 a.m. each morning until 2 p.m. each afternoon on Thursday, October 4 and Friday, October 5 and again next week during the same hours beginning Monday, October 8 through Friday, October 12.
Southbound customers at Sheridan will board and exit trains on the Purple Line side of the platform.
Buses Reroute for Parade
The #18 16th/18th and #21 Cermak route buses will undergo reroutes from noon until 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 6 for the Double Ten Parade 95th Anniversary of Chinese Independence.
#18 16th/18th buses will operate in both directions via Cermak, Archer, Clark, Red Line terminal then return to Cermak and resume the regular route.
#21 Cermak buses will operate in both directions via Cermak, Archer, Clark then return to Cermak and resume the regular route.
Buses Reroute for Breast Cancer and HIV Awareness Walk
On Saturday, October 6 from 7 a.m. until noon, #111 Pullman/111th/115th buses will undergo temporary reroutes to adjacent streets for the Breast Cancer and HIV Awareness walk.
Division Closed for Construction
Division is closed at Kolmar until approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 31 for a construction project.
Westbound #70 Division buses will reroute via Division, Kostner, Augusta, Cicero then return to Division and resume the regular route.
Canal Bridge Closed for Repairs
The Canal Street Bridge over the south branch of the Chicago River is closed due to bridge work until October 30.
With the exception of Sunday, October 7, #18 16th/18th buses will operate in both directions via 18th, Canal, Clark, Cermak to the Red Line terminal then resume the regular route.
Buses Undergo Temporary Reroute
On Saturday, October 6 and October 13, buses on #10 Museum of Science & Industry and #55 Garfield routes will undergo reroutes from 4 p.m. each day until 12:30 a.m. each morning due to the temporary closure of the Museum Drive bus terminal.
Buses will travel over their respective regular routes to 57th Street then will operate via 57th to Cornell to the Museum of Science & Industry west lot then head north and resume the regular route.
Buses Undergo Reroute on Belmont
#77 Belmont buses will be rerouted from 9:15 pm. Monday, October 8 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, October 9 and again in the same location during the same hours on Tuesday, October 9 until Wednesday morning, October 10.
Buses will operate in both directions via Belmont, Sheffield, Addison, Halsted then return to Belmont and resume the regular route.
Pulaski Bus Terminal Temporarily Closed
The bus terminal at 81st and Pulaski used by #53A South Pulaski buses and #79 79th buses serving Bogan High School is temporarily closed until 6 a.m. Monday, October 8 due to repair work. Customers will board and exit buses outside the terminal.
