Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning Weekend of November 23-25

Southbound Red Line Trains to Temporarily Reroute to Elevated Tracks Next Week

Southbound Red Line trains that normally operate through the subway between the Fullerton and Cermak/Chinatown stations will reroute to the elevated tracks from 9 p.m. each day until
5 a.m. the following morning beginning Monday, November 26 through Thursday morning, November 29.

Red Line trains will operate normally between the Howard and Fullerton stations and between the 95th Street and Cermak/Chinatown stations. Rerouted Red Line trains will stop at the following elevated stations: Roosevelt/Wabash, Adams/Wabash, Madison/Wabash, Randolph/Wabash, State/Lake, Clark/Lake, Merchandise Mart, Chicago/Franklin and Sedgwick.

Red Line Trains Temporarily Reroute at Sheridan
Northbound Red Line trains will operate on the northbound Purple Express tracks at Sheridan from 10:50 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, November 23 and again from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 24 and Sunday, November 25.

During these times northbound customers at Sheridan will board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of the platform.

CTA customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Southbound Red Line service is not affected.

Next Week
From 10:50 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day beginning Tuesday, November 27 through Friday, November 30, northbound Red Line trains will operate on the northbound Purple Express tracks at Sheridan. During these times, northbound customers at Sheridan will board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of the platform.

CTA customers are advised to allow extra travel time. Southbound service is not affected.

Late Night Single Tracks in Effect on Blue Line's O'Hare Branch
A single track will be in effect between the Harlem and Cumberland stations on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line from 8 p.m. each day until 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Monday, November 26 through Thursday morning, November 29.

Southbound customers at Harlem must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. Northbound service is not affected.

Other Events Affecting Service
Single Tracks in Effect on Dan Ryan Branch of Red Line

A single track will be in effect between the 63rd and 69th Street stations on the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line from 11 p.m. each day until 4:30 a.m. the following morning on Friday, November 23 and next week beginning Monday, November 26 through Wednesday, November 28.

Northbound customers at 63rd Street must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

Daytime Reroute at Belmont Next Week
Southbound Red Line trains will temporarily reroute to the Brown Line tracks at Belmont Monday, November 26, Tuesday, November 27 and Wednesday, November 28 from 9 a.m. until
3 p.m. " each day. Southbound Red Line customers must board on the Brown Line side of the platform.

Late Night Single Tracks in Effect on Blue Line's Forest Park Branch
A single track will be in effect between Western and Racine on the Forest Park branch of the Blue Line from 10 p.m. Friday, November 23 until 4 a.m. Saturday, November 24. Southbound customers at the Racine and Medical Center stations must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. Northbound service is not affected.

Late Night Single Tracks in Effect on Blue Line's O'Hare Branch
A single track will be in effect between the Harlem and Cumberland stations on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line from 4 p.m. Saturday, November 24 until 4 a.m. Sunday, November 25.

Southbound customers at Harlem must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Several Downtown Routes Undergo Reroute for Thanksgiving Day Parade
Sixteen CTA bus routes that operate downtown will undergo temporary reroutes for the McDonald's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Thursday, November 22. The parade is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and proceed north on State from Congress to Randolph.

CTA will detour buses operating in the vicinity of the parade from early morning until the parade ends. Customers should allow extra travel time.

In anticipation of large crowds for the event, longer trains will operate on the Blue, Brown and Orange lines. Additional CTA personnel will be available in the downtown area to assist customers.

Buses Undergo Reroute for Tree Lighting Ceremony
Washington will be closed from Clark to Dearborn and Clark will be closed from Washington to Randolph from 5 p.m. until
6 p.m. on Friday, November 23 for the annual tree lighting ceremony at Daley Plaza.

Southbound #14 Jeffery Express, eastbound #20 Madison and #X20 Washington/Madison Express, southbound #56 Milwaukee, eastbound #60 Blue Island/26th and eastbound #127 Madison/Roosevelt Circulator buses will operate via Wacker, Monroe to Michigan. #14 buses, #60 and #127 Madison will then resume the regular route on Michigan. #20, #X20 and #56 will travel to Madison and then resume the regular routes.

Southbound #22 Clark, southbound #24 Wentworth will travel over the regular route to Randolph and then will operate via Randolph, LaSalle, Monroe then return to Clark and resume the regular route.

Eastbound #124 Navy Pier and northbound #157 Streeterville buses will travel over the regular route to Wacker then will operate via Wacker, Wacker Place to South Water and then resume the regular route.

Eastbound #129 West Loop/South buses in the evening will travel over the regular route to Wacker then will operate via Wacker, Monroe to Clark and then resume the regular route.

Holiday Hours in Effect on #10 Museum of Science & Industry Bus Route
With the exception of a few select dates, hours of operation on the #10 Museum of Science & Industry route will be extended from Friday, November 16 through Sunday, January 6, 2008. During this time, the Museum of Science & Industry will open at9:30 a.m. Closing time will vary.

Service on the #10 will begin operating at 8:55 a.m. from Chestnut/Lake Shore Drive each morning and the last bus will depart from the Museum of Science & Industry approximately 40 minutes after the museum closes.

The #10 will not operate from Wednesday, November 21; Tuesday, December 25; and Wednesday, January 2 through Friday, January 4. The museum is closed on Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25.

Dorchester Closed for Construction
Dorchester will be closed between 60th and 61st streets from
6 a.m. Monday, November 26 through 3 p.m. Monday,
January 7 due to construction.

Eastbound #59 59th/61st buses will travel over the regular route to 61st then will operate via, Cottage, 60th, Dorchester, Midway Plaisance, Stony Island to 60th. Westbound buses will operate via 60th, Dorchester, Cottage Grove then return to 61st and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.
