Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning Weekend of May 16-18

Slow Zone Work
Red Line Trains Temporarily Rerouted at Belmont
Northbound Red Line trains will be temporarily rerouted to operate on the Brown Line tracks from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, May 19.

During this time, northbound customers at Belmont must board and exit trains from the northbound Brown Line side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Red Line Trains Temporarily Rerouted at Fullerton and Belmont
Red Line trains will be temporarily rerouted to operate on Brown Line tracks at the Fullerton and Belmont stations from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day beginning Tuesday, May 20 through Friday, May 23. Northbound customers must board and exit trains from the Brown Line side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Weekend Blue Line Service from Cumberland to Rosemont Temporarily Suspended
Rail service between the Cumberland and Rosemont Blue Line stations will be temporarily suspended in both directions from 9 p.m. Friday, May 16 to 3 a.m. Monday, May 19 in order to replace deteriorated rail ties, tie plates and spikes.

Bus shuttles will operate as a substitute for rail service between the Cumberland and Rosemont stations. Extra travel time is advisable.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on O'Hare Branch of the Blue Line
From 8 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Tuesday, May 20 through Friday morning, May 23,
a single track will be in effect at the Cumberland and Rosemont Blue Line stations. Northbound customers at the Cumberland and Rosemont stations must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Yellow Line - Other Events Affecting Service
Weekend Yellow Line Service Temporarily Suspended
This weekend crews will be replacing rail and street grade crossings to improve track conditions along the Yellow Line.

From 11 p.m. Friday, May 16 until 4 a.m. Monday, May 19, service along the Yellow Line will be temporarily suspended.

During this time, #97 Skokie buses will serve as a substitute for rail service between the Howard and Skokie rail stations. Extra travel time is advisable.

Blue Line - Other Events Affecting Service
Single Track in Effect on Forest Park Branch of Blue Line
A late night single track will be in effect between the Western and Racine Blue Line stations from 9 p.m. Monday, May 19 until 4 a.m. the following morning.

Northbound customers at the Medical District and Racine stations must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Green Line - Other Events Affecting Service
Late Night Single Track in Effect on Green Line
While crews conduct track maintenance and repair work, a single track will be in effect between the Harlem and Austin Green Line stations. From 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Sunday, May 18 through Thursday, May 22.

Southbound customers at the Oak Park, Ridgeland and Austin stations must board and exit trains on the northbound side of platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

New/Updated Changes in Bus Service
Buses Rerouted Due to Temporary Street Closure
Due to the Yellow Line Grade Crossing Rehabilitation project, Oakton Street between Skokie Boulevard and LaCrosse Avenue will be closed from 8 p.m. Thursday, May 15 until 5 a.m. Thursday, May 22.

During this time, #97 Skokie buses operating in both directions will travel over the regular route to Oakton then will operate via Oakton, Skokie Boulevard, Searle Parkway, Niles Avenue then return to Oakton and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Buses Rerouted on Ridge Avenue Due to Road Reconstruction
Effective 5 a.m. Friday, May 16 until 5 a.m. Thursday, July 31, the #201 Central Ridge and #206 Evanston Circulator buses will be rerouted due to road reconstruction on Ridge Avenue between Howard Street and Main Street.

Southbound #201 and #206 buses will travel over the regular route to Ridge Avenue then will operate via Ridge, Main, Asbury, Howard, Ridge and then resume the regular route.

Temporary Removal of Bus Stop This Weekend
Effective 10 p.m. Friday, May 16 until 5 a.m. Monday, May 19, the eastbound far side service stop at Monroe/Wabash will be temporarily eliminated due to nearby construction work. This stop is served by the #14 Jeffrey Express, #20 Madison, #56 Milwaukee and the #60 Blue Island/26th buses.

Temporary Relocation of Bus Boarding Location
From 4 a.m. Saturday, May 17 until 5 a.m. Monday, May 19, the bus boarding location at the Howard Station served by the #22 Clark and #97 Skokie buses will be temporarily relocated to the far east portion of the terminal where the Pace bus #290 Touhy Avenue currently stops.

Buses Rerouted Due to Temporary Street Closure
From 5 a.m. Monday, May 19 until further notice, #103 West 103rd buses will be temporarily rerouted near the 2600 block of west 103rd Street due to CSX Railroad grade crossing replacement.

#103 buses operating in both directions will travel over the regular route to 103rd Street then will operate via 103rd, Western, 99th, California to 103rd and resume the regular route.

Buses Reroute at Clark and Polk
Until further notice, #22 Clark and #36 Broadway buses will be rerouted in the area of Clark and Polk streets.

Southbound #22 Clark buses will travel over the regular route to Clark then will operate via Clark, Congress, Wells for the end of route. Northbound buses will leave from Wells then will operate via Wells, Harrison, Dearborn and then resume the regular route.

Southbound #36 Broadway buses will travel over the regular route to State then will operate via State, Congress to Wells for the end of the route. Northbound will leave from Wells to Harrison, Dearborn and then resume the regular route.

Temporary Bus Stop Relocation
Due to construction, the westbound far side service stop at Roosevelt and Clark will be temporarily relocated to a near side stop beginning Friday, May 16 until further notice. This bus stop is served by the #12 Roosevelt, #127 Madison/Roosevelt Circulator and #62 Archer (Owl service).

Bus Reroute Due to Construction
Beginning Monday, May 19 until Friday, May 30, 108th Street between Avenue F and State Line Road will be closed due to construction. Southbound #100 Jeffrey Manor Express buses will travel over the regular route to Avenue C then will operate via Avenue C, 112th Street, State Line Road, 106th Street and then resume the regular route.

Ongoing Bus Reroutes
Buses Rerouted on Pulaski Due to Construction
#53 Pulaski buses are rerouting until Tuesday, July 15 due to water main repairs at Pulaski and Roscoe.

#53 buses will operate in both directions via Pulaski, Belmont, Cicero, Addison then return to Pulaski and resume the regular route.

Buses Reroute for Construction Through September
#87 87th buses continue to be rerouted in both directions until 5 a.m. Wednesday, September 17 due to street reconstruction.

Eastbound buses will travel over the regular route to Vincennes then will operate via Vincennes, 83rd, Lafayette then return to 87th and resume the regular route. Westbound buses will travel over the regular route to State then will operate via State, 83rd, Vincennes then return to 87th and resume the regular route.

Buses Reroute Downtown for Construction
From midnight each night until 6 a.m. the following morning Randolph Street will be closed from State to Dearborn through Saturday, November 1.

In addition, Dearborn Street is closed between Washington and Randolph from 9 p.m. each day until 6 a.m. the following morning through Saturday, November 1.

Northbound #22 Clark, #36 Broadway and #62 Archer buses will travel over the regular route to Washington then will operate via Monroe, State, Wacker then return to Dearborn and resume the regular route.

Bridge Reconstruction Reroutes Buses
Reroute of #205 Chicago/Golf buses will continue until November 16, due to bridge reconstruction on Emerson between Leland and McCormick.

#205 Buses will operate in both directions via Church, McCormick to Golf and then resume the regular route.

Bus Service Changes Due to Construction at State and Grand
#36 Broadway and southbound #29 State buses are rerouting until further notice at Grand Avenue and State Street due to construction at the Red Line's Grand station.

Southbound #36 and #29 buses will travel over the regular route to Grand then will operate via Clark to Illinois then return to State and resume the regular route.

Northbound #36 buses will travel over the regular route to Dearborn then will operate via Dearborn to Ohio, then return to State and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Buses Reroute Due to Construction
Halsted is closed at Root Street between the hours of 6 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. and again at 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. each day until further notice, due to construction.

#43 43rd buses will operate in both directions via Halsted, 45th Street, Morgan to Exchange and then resume the regular route.

#60 Blue Island/26th Buses Rerouted Due to Lane Closure
Until further notice, Laflin Street between Cermak and 21st Place will be closed to all traffic due to construction at Benito Juarez School.

#60 Blue Island/26th buses operating in both directions will travel over the regular route to Cermak then will operate via Cermak, Loomis, 21st Street then return to Laflin and resume the regular route.
