Slow Zone Work
Temporary Suspension of Blue Line Service Between O'Hare and Rosemont Continues
While work is under way to eliminate slow zones, service between the O'Hare and Rosemont Blue Line stations continues to be temporarily suspended. Bus shuttle service has been implemented in place of rail service between the O'Hare and Rosemont stations. The bus shuttles run 24 hours a day, the same hours of operation as the Blue Line.
Normal rail service will resume Monday, July 28.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Red Line Subway Trains Temporarily Rerouted to Elevated Tracks This Weekend
Service on the Red Line between the Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown stations will be temporarily rerouted in both directions from the subway to the elevated tracks from 9 p.m. Friday, July 11 until 3 a.m. Monday, July 14. Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.
Bus shuttle service will also be available between select Red and Brown Line stations.
Rerouted trains will stop at the following elevated stations between Cermak-Chinatown and Fullerton: Roosevelt/Wabash, Adams/Wabash, Madison/Wabash, Randolph/Wabash, State/Lake, Clark/Lake, Merchandise Mart, Chicago/Franklin, Armitage and Sedgwick. The Merchandise Mart station is available as an exit only (via stairway) on Saturday morning from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. and Sunday morning from 12:50 a.m. to 7:10 a.m.

Next Week
Southbound Red Line trains will be rerouted to the elevated tracks from 9 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning beginning Monday, July 14 through Friday morning, July 18. Northbound service is not affected during these times.
Southbound Red Line trains will operate normally between the Howard and Fullerton stations and between the Cermak-Chinatown and 95th stations.
Rerouted southbound trains will stop at the following elevated stations between Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown: Armitage, Sedgwick, Chicago/Franklin, Merchandise Mart, Clark/Lake, State/Lake, Randolph/Wabash, Madison/Wabash, Adams/Wabash and Roosevelt/Wabash. The Merchandise Mart station is available as an exit only (via stairway) from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Southbound Single Track in Effect on O'Hare Branch of the Blue Line Next Week
From 8 p.m. each night until 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Tuesday, July 15 through Friday morning, July 18, a single track will be in effect for southbound Blue Line trains between the Jefferson Park and Montrose stations.
Southbound customers at the Montrose station must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.
Southbound Single Track in Effect on Brown Line
A single track will be in effect for southbound Brown Line trains between the Addison and Southport stations from 3 a.m. Saturday, July 12 until 10 p.m. Sunday, July 13.
During this time, southbound customers at the Addison and Southport stations must board and exit trains from the northbound platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Next Week
From 8 p.m. each night to 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Monday, July 14 through Friday morning, July 18, a single track will be in effect for southbound Brown Line trains between Addison and Southport. During this time, southbound customers at the Addison and Southport stations must board and exit trains from the northbound platform.

Red Line - Other Events Affecting Service
Temporary Closure of Wilson Platform Reroutes Red Line Trains This Weekend
Due to work on the main platform at the Wilson Red Line station, northbound trains will temporarily bypass the Wilson station from 10:30 p.m. Friday, July 11 until 4 a.m. Monday, July 14.
Northbound Red Line customers traveling to Wilson should instead exit at Lawrence and board a southbound train to Wilson. Customers boarding at Wilson traveling northbound must board a southbound train and exit at either Sheridan or Addison to board a northbound train.
Southbound Red Line customers must board and exit trains from the auxiliary, Purple Express Line platform.
CTA operators will announce the direction of each train. Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Blue Line - Other Events Affecting Service
Late Night Single Track in Effect for Blue Line Subway This Weekend
A late night single track will be in effect for southbound Blue Line trains between the Grand and LaSalle stations from 10 p.m. Friday, July 11 until 7 a.m. the following morning. During this time, southbound customers at the Clark/Lake, Washington, Monroe and Jackson stations must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Saturday Night
From 9 p.m. Saturday, July 12 until 2 a.m. the following morning, a single track will be in effect for northbound Blue Line subway trains between the Grand and Damen subway stations. During this time, northbound customers at the Grand, Chicago and Division stations must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Early Sunday Morning Single Track in Effect for Blue Line Subway
A single track will be in effect for northbound Blue Line trains between the LaSalle and Grand stations from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, July 13.
During this time, Blue Line customers at the Jackson, Monroe, Washington and Clark/Lake stations must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Late Night Single Track in Effect for Forest Park Branch of Blue Line
From 9 p.m. Monday, July 14 to 4 a.m. the following morning, a single track will be in effect for southbound Blue Line trains between the Racine and Western stations.
Southbound customers at the Racine and Medical District stations must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Howard Terminal Rehabilitation Project
Weekend Platform Closure at Howard
Due to construction work associated with the Howard Terminal Rehabilitation project, the east platform, where northbound customers normally board and exit trains, will be out of service from 8 p.m. Friday, July 11 until 2 a.m. Monday, July 14.
During this time, all Red, Purple and Yellow Line customers must board and exit trains from the west platform, where southbound customers normally board.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
New/Updated Changes in Bus Service
#55A 55th/Austin Buses Continue to be Rerouted Until Sunday Evening
Due to the Saint Symphrosa Church Carnival, Austin Avenue at 61st Street is closed until 6 p.m. Sunday, July 12.
Westbound #55A 55th/Austin buses will travel their regular route along Austin to 61st then operate via 61st to Meade (past 63rd) and then resume the regular route. Eastbound buses will operate along Austin to 63rd then will travel via 63rd, Mayfield, 61st to Austin and then resume the regular route.
Late Night Reroute of #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick Buses on Thursday
Due to work associated with the Brown Line Capacity Expansion project, Lincoln Avenue at Paulina will be closed to all traffic from 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10 until 5 a.m. the following morning.
#11 Lincoln/Sedgwick buses operating in both directions will travel along Lincoln to Addison then operate via Addison, Ashland to Lincoln and then resume the regular route.
Taste of Park Ridge Temporarily Reroutes #68 Buses This Weekend
From 4 p.m. Thursday, July 10 until noon Sunday, July 13, the Park Ridge Metra station will be closed for the annual Taste of Park Ridge festival. During this time, #68 Northwest Highway buses will operate over the regular route to Washington and Summit then travel via Summit to Northwest Highway and resume the regular route.
Temporary Relocation of #152 Addison Bus Stop This Weekend
Due to work associated with the Brown Line Capacity Expansion project, the eastbound stop on Addison at the Brown Line station served by #152 Addison buses will be temporarily relocated to a nearside stop at Wolcott. The temporary relocation of this bus stop will be in effect from 5 p.m. Saturday, July 12 until 8 p.m. Sunday, July 13.
Late Night Reroute of #77 Belmont Buses on Wednesday
Due to work associated with the Brown Line Capacity Expansion project, Belmont Avenue at the Brown Line station will be closed to all traffic from 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 16 until 5 a.m. the following morning.
During this time, #77 Belmont buses operating in both directions will travel along Belmont to Sheffield and then will operate via Sheffield, Addison, Halsted to Belmont and then resume the regular route.
Ongoing Bus Reroutes
Buses Rerouted on Ridge Avenue Due to Road Reconstruction
Due to road reconstruction on Ridge Avenue between Howard Street and Main Street, the #201 Central Ridge and #206 Evanston Circulator buses will be rerouted until 5 a.m. Thursday, July 31.
Southbound #201 and #206 buses will travel along Ridge then will operate via Main, Asbury, Howard, Ridge and then resume the regular route.
Buses Reroute for Construction Through September
#87 87th buses continue to be rerouted in both directions until 5 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, due to street reconstruction.
Eastbound buses will travel over the regular route to Vincennes then will operate via Vincennes, 83rd, Lafayette then return to 87th and resume the regular route. Westbound buses will travel over the regular route to State then will operate via State, 83rd, Vincennes then return to 87th and resume the regular route.
Buses Rerouted on Saturdays for the Near North Farmer's Market
From 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. every Saturday through October 25, Division Street between State and Clark will be closed for the Near North Farmer's Market.
During this time, southbound #36 Broadway buses will travel over the regular route to Clark then will operate via Clark, Maple to State and then resume the regular route. Northbound #36 buses will operate over the regular route to State then will travel via State, Elm to Clark and then resume the regular route.
Eastbound #70 Division buses will travel over the regular route to Division and then will operate via Division, Clark, Maple to Dearborn and resume the regular route. Westbound service is not affected.
Buses Reroute Downtown for Construction
From midnight each night until 6 a.m. the following morning Randolph Street will be closed from State to Dearborn through Saturday, November 1.
In addition, Dearborn Street is closed between Washington and Randolph from 9 p.m. each day until 6 a.m. the following morning through Saturday, November 1.
Northbound #22 Clark, #36 Broadway and #62 Archer buses will travel over the regular route along Dearborn to Monroe and will then operate via Monroe, State, Wacker to Dearborn and then resume the regular route.
Bridge Reconstruction Reroutes Buses
Reroute of #205 Chicago/Golf buses will continue until November 16, due to bridge reconstruction on Emerson between Leland and McCormick.
#205 buses will operate in both directions via Church, McCormick to Golf and then resume the regular route.
Railroad Bridge Repairs Reroute #75 74th/75th Buses
Until Wednesday, December 31, 2008, #75 74th/75th buses will be rerouted on weekdays only from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. due to railroad bridge repair work in the 7500 block of South Loomis Street.
#75 buses operating in both directions will travel along 74th Street to Ashland then will operate via Ashland, 76th, Racine to 74th and then resume the regular route.
Buses Rerouted on Harrison Due to Construction
Harrison Street between Paulina Street and Ashland Avenue continues to be closed until Thursday, January 1, 2009, due to the construction of the Harrison Street Tunnel. During this time, eastbound #7 Harrison and #126 Jackson buses will be rerouted.
Eastbound #7 buses will travel over the regular route to Paulina then will operate via Polk, Ashland to Harrison and resume the regular route.
Eastbound #126 buses will travel over the regular route to Harrison then will operate via Harrison, Wood, Polk, Ashland to Harrison and resume the regular route.
Bus Stops Along Solidarity Drive Temporarily Removed Due to Construction
Until further notice, all bus stops along Solidarity Drive served by the #12 Roosevelt and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will be temporarily removed due to construction.
Customers traveling to and from the Shedd Aquarium should exit and board #12 and #146 buses at McFetridge Drive.
Buses Reroute at Clark and Polk
Until further notice, #22 Clark and #36 Broadway buses will be rerouted in the area of Clark and Polk streets and will not be providing any service south of Harrison.
Southbound #22 Clark customers traveling to Polk will need to transfer to a #24 Wentworth bus prior to Congress (or a #129 West Loop/South Loop bus available only on weekdays during the morning and evening rush periods) to complete their trip.
Southbound #36 Broadway customers traveling to Polk will need to transfer to a #29 State or #62 Archer bus prior to Congress to complete their trip.
Both northbound #22 and #36 customers can board buses north of Harrison on Dearborn.
Bus Service Changes Due to Construction at State and Grand
#36 Broadway and southbound #29 State buses are rerouting until further notice at Grand Avenue and State Street due to construction at the Red Line's Grand station.
Southbound #36 and #29 buses will travel over the regular route to Grand then will operate via Clark to Illinois then return to State and resume the regular route.
Northbound #36 buses will travel over the regular route to Dearborn then will operate via Dearborn to Ohio, then return to State and resume the regular route.
Buses Reroute Due to Construction
Halsted is closed at Root Street between the hours of 6 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. and again at 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. each day until further notice, due to construction.
#43 43rd buses will operate in both directions via Halsted, 45th Street, Morgan to Exchange and then resume the regular route.
#60 Blue Island/26th Buses Rerouted Due to Lane Closure
Until further notice, Laflin Street between Cermak and 21st Place will be closed to all traffic due to construction at Benito Juarez School.
#60 Blue Island/26th buses operating in both directions will travel over the regular route to Cermak then will operate via Cermak, Loomis, 21st Street then return to Laflin and resume the regular route.
