Daytime Single Tracks in Effect on Brown Line This Weekend

A single track will be in effect at the Brown Line's Paulina and Addison stations from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday,
January 26.

Northbound Brown Line customers at the Paulina and Addison stations must board and exit trains on the southbound platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Other Events Affecting Service
Single Track in Effect on Red Line

Due to construction work, a single track will be in effect between the Roosevelt and Grand stations on the Red Line from midnight Friday, January 25 until 4 a.m. Saturday, January 26.

Northbound Red Line customers at the Roosevelt, Harrison, Jackson, Monroe and Lake stations must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Next week
From midnight each night until 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Monday, January 28 through Saturday morning, February 2, a single track will be in effect between the Roosevelt and Grand stations on the Red Line.

Northbound Red Line customers at the Roosevelt, Harrison, Jackson, Monroe and Lake stations must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Temporary Reroutes of Red Line Trains at Belmont
Due to construction work associated with the Fullerton, Diversey and Belmont stations, southbound Red Line trains will be rerouted to operate on the southbound Brown Line tracks at Belmont from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day beginning Monday, January 28 through Friday morning, February 1.

Southbound Red Line customers will board and exit trains on the Brown Line side of the platform.

Customers are asked to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the route of each train.

Northbound Red Line Trains Temporarily Reroute at Sheridan
From 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day on Saturday,
January 26 and Sunday, January 27,
northbound Red Line trains will temporarily operate on the northbound Purple Express tracks.

During these times, northbound customers at Sheridan will board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of the platform.

CTA customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Next week
Northbound Red Line trains will operate on the northbound Purple Express tracks from 10:50 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day beginning Tuesday, January 29 through Friday,
February 1.

During these times, northbound customers at Sheridan will board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of the platform.

CTA customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Temporary Reroutes of Red and Brown Line Trains at Fullerton and Belmont
Due to construction work associated with the Fullerton, Diversey and Belmont stations, northbound Red and Brown line trains will be rerouted to operate on the southbound Red Line tracks at Fullerton and Belmont on Saturday, January 26 from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Northbound Red and Brown line customers will board and exit trains on the southbound Red Line side of the platform. Southbound Red and Brown line customers will board and exit trains on the southbound Brown Line side of the platform.

During this time, northbound Brown Line trains will be unable to stop at Wellington station; therefore, customers who want to exit at Wellington should continue to ride north to Belmont and then take a southbound train to Wellington. Northbound customers who wish to board at Wellington should take a southbound train to Fullerton and board a northbound train.

Customers are asked to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Two-Phase Single Track in Effect on Brown Line on Sunday
A two-phase single track will be in effect on the Brown Line between the Sedgwick and Armitage stations from 6:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 27.

From 6:30 a.m. until noon, northbound customers boarding at the Armitage station must board and exit trains on the southbound platform.

From noon until 5 p.m., southbound customers at the Armitage station must board and exit trains on the northbound platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Three-Phase Single Track in Effect on Blue Line This Weekend
A three-phase single track will be in effect between the California and Addison stations on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line from 11 p.m. Friday, January 25 until 10 a.m. Saturday, January 26.

From 11 p.m. until midnight Friday, January 25, northbound customers at the Logan Square station must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

From midnight Friday, January 25 until 4 a.m. Saturday, January 26, northbound customers at the Logan Square, Belmont and Addison stations must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

From 4 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday, January 26, northbound customers at the Logan Square stations must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Saturday night
From 11 p.m. until midnight Saturday, January 26 southbound customers at the Logan Square station must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

From midnight Saturday, January 26 until 4 a.m. Sunday, January 27, southbound customers at the Logan Square, Belmont and Addison stations must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

From 4 a.m. until 10 a.m. Sunday, January 27, southbound customers at the Logan Square station must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Blue Line Next Week
A single track will be in effect between the Damen and Grand stations on the Blue Line from 11 p.m. Sunday, January 27 until 4 a.m. Monday, January 28.

Southbound customers at the Division, Chicago and Grand stations must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Wednesday
From 11 p.m. Wednesday, January 30 until 4 a.m. Thursday, January 31 and again from 11 p.m. on Thursday, January 31 until 4 a.m. Friday, February 1, a single track will be in effect between the Grand and Damen stations on the Blue Line's O'Hare branch.

Northbound customers at Grand, Chicago and Division stations must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Late Night Single Track in Effect Between Harlem and Jefferson Park on Blue Line O'Hare Branch
A single track will be in effect between the Harlem and Jefferson Park station on the Blue Line's O'Hare branch from 9 p.m. Tuesday, January 29 until 4 a.m. Wednesday, January 30.

Southbound customers at the Jefferson Park station must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Main Entrance at 79th Red Line Station Temporarily Closed Saturday
The main entrance to the 79th Street Red Line station will be closed temporarily from7 a.m. until 3 pm. Saturday, January 26 for repairs.

Customers can access the station through the auxiliary entrance on the north side of 79th Street.

During the closure of the main entrance, east and westbound #74 74th/75th buses will temporarily make stops northbound on State Street at 79th.

Eastbound #79 79th Street buses will make stops on 79th at Lafayette and 79th at State.

Escalator Temporarily Out of Service at Harlem Blue Line Station
The escalator leading from the platform to the mezzanine at the Harlem Blue Line station on the O'Hare branch will be temporarily out of service from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29.

Customers can access the mezzanine and platform via the stairway and elevator.

#19 United Center Express Serves Bulls Games
CTA will operate its #19 United Center Express buses for the following dates and times:

  • Friday, January 25 at 7:30 p.m. " Bulls versus Charlotte Bobcats
  • Sunday, January 27 at Noon ? Bulls versus Phoenix Suns
  • Tuesday, January 29 at 7:30 p.m. " Bulls versus Minnesota Timberwolves

Buses will leave every 12 minutes from Michigan and Superior starting two hours before game time until 30 minutes before the game begins. When the game ends, #19 buses will depart the United Center approximately every 15 minutes for one hour.

#19 buses will make all stops on Michigan from Superior to Washington, and on Madison from Wabash to Clinton. From Clinton, #19 buses run express to the United Center.

After the game, #19 buses will await customers on the north side of the United Center eastbound on Madison near Gate 3. On the return trip, #19 buses operate through downtown east on Washington to Wacker, then head south to Monroe and east to Michigan, making all stops from Jefferson to Michigan before turning north on Michigan and making all stops from Randolph to Chicago.

Montrose Closed for Repairs
Montrose is closed between Ashland and Damen until
February 7 due to street and water main repairs. #78 Montrose buses are being rerouted in both directions via Damen, Wilson, Ashland and Montrose then return to the regular route.

Fullerton Closed to Eastbound Traffic at Leclaire Next Week
The eastbound lane on Fullerton at Leclaire will be closed from 9 a.m. Monday,January 28 until 6 p.m. Friday, February 1 for repairs.

Eastbound #74 Fullerton buses will travel over the regular route to Laramie then will operate via Laramie, Grand, Armitage, Cicero then return to Fullerton and resume the regular route.

Former Mayor's Funeral May Impact Buses
The funeral procession for former Mayor Eugene Sawyer will travel from 90th at Stony Island to 67th at Greenwood beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 26.

Northbound #28 Stony Island buses may be subject to reroute and will operate via Stony Island, 93rd, Jeffery, 87th then return to Stony Island and resume the regular route. In addition, The following routes may be delayed during the procession: #67/69/71st, #71 71st/South Shore, #75 74th/75th, 79 79th and #87 87th routes.

Madison/Monroe State Street Subway Entrance Temporarily Closed
The Red Line subway station entrance on State at Monroe/Madison will be temporarily closed from 9 a.m. until
10 a.m. Saturday due to a helicopter lift.

Red Line customers can access the station through the entrance on State at Monroe/Adams.

Buses Reroute Due to Harrison Street Bridge Closure
The Harrison Street Bridge over the south branch of the Chicago River will be closed until February 1.

#11 Lincoln/Sedgwick buses will reroute in both directions via Harrison, Canal, Jackson and resume the regular route.

Buses Reroute Due to Madison Street Bridge Closure
Madison Street will be closed over the Chicago River due to repairs on the Madison Street Bridge from 9:30 a.m. until
2:30 p.m. each day beginning Monday, January 28 through Friday, February 1.

Northbound #14 Jeffery Express, #56 Milwaukee and westbound #20 Madison and #X20 Washington/Madison Express buses will travel over the regular route to Wacker then will operate via Wacker, Randolph, Clinton and return to Madison and resume their regular routes.

Westbound #60 Blue Island/26th Street, #124 Navy Pier and southbound #157 Streeterville buses will travel over the regular route to Wacker then will operate via Wacker, Randolph, Clinton, Madison then return to Clinton and resume their regular routes.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Clark Street Closed for Construction Work
Clark Street will be closed between Harrison and Polk from
8 a.m. Saturday, January 26 until 3:30 p.m. Sunday,
January 27 due to construction.

#22 Clark buses will operate via Harrison and Dearborn. Customers at Polk who wish to board #22 Clark buses must walk one block and board buses at Harrison.

Buses Reroute on Weekends for Block 37 Construction
Dearborn between Washington and Randolph will undergo weekend closures due to construction. Starting this weekend from 9 p.m. Friday, January 25 until 6 a.m. Monday,
January 28, northbound #22 Clark, #36 Broadway and #62 Archer buses will travel over the regular route to Monroe then will operate via Monroe, State, Wacker then return to Dearborn and resume their regular routes.

This reroute will continue all four weekends in February.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Helicopter Lift Affects 12 Bus Routes
State Street will be closed between Madison and Monroe, and Madison will be closed between Wabash and Dearborn from
8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Sunday, January 27 due to a helicopter lift.

Southbound #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will operate over the regular route to Wacker then will operate via Wacker, Clark, Monroe and then return to State and resume the regular route.

Northbound #10 Museum of Science & Industry and #29 State buses will travel over the regular route to Adams then will operate via Adams, Dearborn then return to Wacker and resume the regular route.

Southbound #14 Jeffery Express buses will travel to Monroe and Clark then will operate via Clark, Jackson to Michigan and resume the regular route.

Southbound #29 State and #36 Broadway buses will travel over the regular route to Randolph then will operate via Randolph, Clark, Monroe then return to State and resume the regular route.

#56 Milwaukee and #20 Madison buses will travel to Monroe and Dearborn then will operate west on Madison and resume the regular route.

Eastbound #60 Blue Island/26th Street buses will travel to Dearborn then will operate via Wacker, Michigan, Randolph and then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via Randolph, Clark to Madison and then resume the regular route.

Northbound #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express buses will travel over the regular route to Adams then will operate via Adams, Dearborn, Wacker to Michigan and then resume the regular route.

Northbound #151 Sheridan buses will travel over the regular route to Dearborn then will operate via Dearborn, Monroe to Michigan and resume the regular route.

Buses Continue to Reroute for Construction
51st Street between Lowe and Shields continues to be closed for pavement repairs through 3 p.m. Monday, February 25.

Eastbound #51 51st Street buses will travel over the regular route to Halsted then will operate via Halsted, 47th, Wells, 51st, Wentworth then return to 47th and resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via 47th, Halsted to 51st and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

#70 Division
Westbound #70 Division buses continue to undergo reroutes until Friday, March 21 due to street repairs at Division and Kolmar.

Buses will travel over the regular route to Kostner then will operate via Kostner, Augusta, Cicero then return to Division and resume the regular route.

Dorchester Remains Closed for Construction
Dorchester continues to be closed between 60th and 61st streets through 3 p.m. Friday, February 11.

Eastbound #59 59th/61st buses will travel over the regular route to 61st then will operate via Cottage Grove, 60th, Dorchester, Midway Plaisance, Stony Island to 60th. Westbound buses will operate via 60th, Dorchester, Cottage Grove then return to 61st and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.
