Daytime Single Tracks in Effect on Blue Line This Weekend

A single track will be in effect between the Grand and Damen stations on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line from 6 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. each day on Saturday,January 19 and Sunday, January 20 and again from 11 p.m. on Thursday,January 24 until 4 a.m. Friday, January 25.

Southbound customers boarding at the Division, Chicago and Grand stations must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Blue Line Next Week
A single track will be in effect between the Addison and Belmont stations on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line from 10 p.m. Tuesday, January 22 until 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 23.

Southbound customers at Addison and Belmont stations must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Wednesday
A single track will be in effect between the Harlem and Jefferson Park stations on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line from
9 p.m. Wednesday, January 23 until 4 a.m. Thursday, January 24.

Southbound customers at the Jefferson Park station must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Single Track in Effect on Red Line
Due to construction work, a single track will be in effect between the Roosevelt and Grand stations on the Red Line from midnight Friday, January 18 until 4 a.m. Saturday, January 19.

Northbound Red Line customers at the Roosevelt, Harrison, Jackson, Monroe and Lake stations must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Next week
From 11 p.m. each night until 4 a.m. each following morning beginning Monday, January 21 through Saturday morning, January 26, a single track will be in effect between the Roosevelt and Grand stations on the Red Line.

Northbound Red Line customers at the Roosevelt, Harrison, Jackson, Monroe and Lake stations must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Temporary Reroutes of Red Line Trains at Belmont
Due to construction work associated with the Fullerton, Diversey and Belmont stations, southbound Red Line trains will be rerouted to operate on the southbound Brown Line tracks at Belmont from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day beginning Monday, January 21 through Friday,
January 25.

Southbound Red Line customers will board and exit trains on the Brown Line side of the platform.

Customers are asked to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the route of each train.

Northbound Red Line Trains Temporarily Reroute at Sheridan
Northbound Red Line trains will operate on the northbound Purple Line Express tracks from 10:50 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day beginning Tuesday, January 22 through Friday, January 25.

During these times, northbound customers at Sheridan will board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of the platform.

CTA customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

North Avenue Entrance Temporarily Closed at North/Clybourn Station
The North Avenue entrance to the North/Clybourn Red Line entrance will be temporarily closed until further notice due to construction.

Customers can access the station through the Clybourn Avenue station and the entrance adjacent to the bus turnaround.

#19 United Center Express Serves Bulls and Blackhawks Games
CTA will operate its #19 United Center Express buses for the following dates and times:

  • Friday, January 18 at 8:30 p.m. " Bulls versus Golden State Warriors
  • Saturday, January 19 at 7:30 p.m. " Bulls versus Detroit Pistons
  • Wednesday, January 23 at 7:30 p.m. " Bulls versus Indiana Pacers
  • Thursday, January 24 at 7:30 p.m. " Blackhawks versus Columbus Blue Jackets

Buses will leave every 12 minutes from Michigan and Superior starting two hours before game time until 30 minutes before the game begins. When the game ends, #19 buses will depart the United Center approximately every 15 minutes for one hour.

#19 buses will make all stops on Michigan from Superior to Washington, and on Madison from Wabash to Clinton. From Clinton, #19 buses run express to the United Center.

After the game, #19 buses will await customers on the north side of the United Center eastbound on Madison near Gate 3. On the return trip, #19 buses operate through downtown east on Washington to Wacker, then head south to Monroe and east to Michigan, making all stops from Jefferson to Michigan before turning north on Michigan and making all stops from Randolph to Chicago.

Bus Stops Relocated
The northbound bus stop at 63rd and Pulaski that serves the #53A South Pulaski and the #53A South Pulaski Limited routes has been relocated from a far side stop to a near side stop.

#20 Madison
The westbound bus stop at Madison and Western that serves the #20 Madison route has been relocated from a far side stop to a near side stop.

Buses Reroute Due to Harrison Street Bridge Closure
The Harrison Street Bridge over the south branch of the Chicago River will be closed until January 28.

#11 Lincoln/Sedgwick buses will reroute in both directions via Harrison, Canal, Jackson then return to the regular route.

Buses Continue to Reroute for Construction
51st Street between Lowe and Shields continues to be closed for pavement repairs through 3 p.m. Monday, February 25.

Eastbound #51 51st Street buses will travel over the regular route to Halsted then will operate via Halsted, 47th, Wells, 51st, Wentworth then return to 47th and resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via 47th, Halsted to 51st and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

#70 Division
Westbound #70 Division buses continue to undergo reroutes until Friday, March 21 due to street repairs at Division and Kolmar.

Buses will travel over the regular route to Kostner then will operate via Kostner, Augusta, Cicero then return to Division and resume the regular route.

Dorchester Remains Closed for Construction
Dorchester continues to be closed between 60th and 61st streets through 3 p.m. Friday, February 11.

Eastbound #59 59th/61st buses will travel over the regular route to 61st then will operate via Cottage, 60th, Dorchester, Midway Plaisance, Stony Island to 60th. Westbound buses will operate via 60th, Dorchester, Cottage Grove then return to 61st and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.
