Slow Zone Work
Southbound Red Line Trains to Temporarily Reroute to Elevated Tracks Next Week

While work is under way to eliminate slow zones, southbound Red Line trains that normally operate through the subway between the Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown stations will reroute to the elevated tracks from 6 a.m. Saturday, February 23 until 6 p.m. Sunday, February 24. Elevated stations are located within a block of Red Line subway stations in the Loop. Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Red Line trains will operate normally between the Fullerton and Howard stations and between the Cermak-Chinatown and 95th stations.

Rerouted trains will stop at the following elevated stations between Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown: Sedgwick, Chicago/Franklin, Merchandise Mart, Clark/Lake, State/Lake, Randolph/Wabash, Madison/Wabash, Adams/Wabash and Roosevelt/Wabash. The Merchandise Mart station is available as an exit only (via stairway) on Saturday morning from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. and on Sunday morning from 12:50 a.m. to 7:10 a.m.

Daytime Single Track in Effect on Brown Line This Weekend
A single track will be in effect on the Brown Line affecting customers who board at the Paulina and Addison stations from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 23.

Northbound customers at the Paulina and Addison stations must board and exit trains on the southbound platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Northbound Red Line Trains Temporarily Reroute at Sheridan
Northbound Red Line trains will be temporarily rerouted to operate on the Purple Express tracks from 7 a.m. until
3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 23 and again during the same hours on Sunday, February 24.

During these times, northbound customers at Sheridan will board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Next Week
Northbound Red Line trains at Sheridan will operate on the northbound Purple Express tracks from 10:50 a.m. until
2 p.m. each day beginning Tuesday, February 26 through Friday, February 29.

During these times, northbound customers at Sheridan will board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Other Events Affecting Service
Southbound Red Line Trains Temporarily Reroute at Wilson Station
From 10 p.m. Friday, February 22 until 4 a.m. Monday, February 25,
southbound Red Line trains will be temporarily rerouted to operate on the Purple Express tracks. Southbound Red Line trains will stop at the Purple Line platform at Wilson station and the Purple Line side of the platform at Sheridan.

During this time, northbound Red Line trains will be unable to stop at the Wilson station. Northbound customers who wish to exit at the Wilson station must travel one stop north to Lawrence and board a southbound train back to Wilson.

Customers at Wilson who wish to travel northbound must board a southbound train and travel one stop south to Sheridan to board a northbound train.

In addition, during this time the auxiliary entrance at the Wilson station will be closed. Customers can access the station through the main entrance on Broadway.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Single Track in Effect on Red Line
A single track will be in effect between the Roosevelt and Grand stations on the Red Line from midnight each night until
4 a.m. the following morning beginning Monday,
February 25 through Friday morning, February 29.

Southbound Red Line customers at the Lake, Monroe, Jackson and Harrison stations must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Single Track in Effect on Blue Line This Weekend
From 11 p.m. Friday, February 22 until 8 a.m. Saturday, February 23,
northbound customers at the UIC-Halsted, Clinton and LaSalle stations must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

From 10 p.m. Saturday, February 23 until 8 a.m. Sunday, February 24, southbound customers at the LaSalle, Clinton and UIC-Halsted stations must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Single Track in Effect Between Blue Line's Grand and LaSalle Stations
A single track will be in effect between the Grand and LaSalle stations on the Blue Line from 7 p.m. Sunday, February 24 until 3 a.m. Monday, February 25.

Southbound customers at the Clark/Lake, Washington, Monroe and Jackson stations must board and exit Blue Line trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Daytime Single Track in Effect on O'Hare Branch of Blue Line This Weekend
A single track will be in effect between the Grand and Damen stations from 10 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Saturday, February 23.

Northbound customers at the Grand, Chicago and Division stations must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

Next Week
A single track will be in effect between the Grand and Damen stations from 11 p.m. Tuesday, February 26 until 4 a.m. Wednesday, February 27 and again during the same hours on Thursday, February 28 until 4 a.m. Friday morning,
February 29.

Northbound customers at the Grand, Chicago and Division stations must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

Single Track in Effect on Blue Line Next Week
A single track will be in effect between the Belmont and California stations on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line from 10 p.m. Monday, February 25 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, February 26.

Southbound customers at the Logan Square station must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Howard Station Construction
The northbound platform at the Howard Red Line station will be temporarily out of service for construction work from 11 p.m. Friday, February 22 until 4 a.m. Monday, February 25. Customers must board trains from the southbound platform.

#19 United Center Express Serves Bulls, Blackhawks and Concerts
CTA will operate its #19 United Center Express buses on the following dates and times:

  • Friday, February 22 at 7 p.m. " Bulls versus Denver Nuggets
  • Saturday, February 23 at 7:30 p.m. " Bon Jovi Concert
  • Sunday, February 24 at 7:30 p.m. " Bon Jovi Concert
  • Tuesday, February 26 at 7:30 p.m. " Bon Jovi Concert
  • Wednesday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. " Blackhawks versus Phoenix Coyotes

Buses will leave every 12 minutes from Michigan and Superior starting two hours before event time until 30 minutes before the events begin. When the events end, #19 buses will depart the United Center approximately every 15 minutes for one hour.

#19 buses will make all stops on Michigan from Superior to Washington, and on Madison from Wabash to Clinton. From Clinton, #19 buses run express to the United Center.

After the event, #19 buses will await customers on the north side of the United Center eastbound on Madison near Gate 3. On the return trip, #19 buses operate through downtown east on Washington to Wacker, then head south to Monroe and east to Michigan, making all stops from Jefferson to Michigan before turning north on Michigan and making all stops from Randolph to Chicago.

Buses Reroute on Weekends for Block 37 Construction
Dearborn between Washington and Randolph will undergo weekend closures due to construction from 9 p.m. each day until 6 a.m. the following morning on the all weekends in February.

Northbound #22 Clark, #36 Broadway and #62 Archer buses will travel over the regular route to Monroe then will operate via Monroe, State, Wacker then return to Dearborn and resume their regular routes.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Bus Stop Temporarily Relocated
The northbound near side bus stop on Halsted at 28th Street has been relocated to a far side bus stop until Tuesday, February 26.

Buses Reroute on Damen
Damen is closed until Tuesday, February 26 for sewer work between Warren and Fulton.Northbound #50 Damen buses will travel over the regular route to Warren then will operate via Warren, Wood, Fulton then return to Damen and resume the regular route.

Southbound buses will travel over the regular route to Fulton then will operate via Fulton, Wood, Washington then return to Damen and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Buses Continue to Reroute for Construction
51st Street between Lowe and Shields continues to be closed for pavement repairs through 3 p.m. Monday, February 25.

Eastbound #51 51st Street buses will travel over the regular route to Halsted then will operate via Halsted, 47th, Wells, 51st, Wentworth then return to 47th and resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via 47th, Halsted to 51st and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

#70 Division
Westbound #70 Division buses continue to undergo reroutes until Friday, March 21 due to street repairs at Division and Kolmar.

Buses will travel over the regular route to Kostner then will operate via Kostner, Augusta, Cicero then return to Division and resume the regular route.
