Slow Zone Work
Blue Line Single Track in Effect This Weekend for Slow Zone Work

This weekend CTA will temporarily suspend service on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line between Western/Milwaukee and Clark/Lake on Friday, August 24 from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. Monday, August 27, in order to replace rail ties. Bus shuttles will operate as a substitute for rail service making stops at Western/Milwaukee, Damen, Division, Chicago, Grand, Clark/Lake, Washington, Monroe and Jackson.

Weeknights through mid-September single tracks typically will be in effect from Grand to Division from 8 p.m. each night until 4 a.m. the following morning, Monday nights through Friday mornings. Customers will board and exit trains on one side of the platform.

CTA customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Red Line Trains to Temporarily Reroute to Elevated Tracks This Weekend
Northbound Red Line trains from Cermak/Chinatown to Fullerton that normally operate through the subway will reroute to the elevated tracks from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, August 27 through Friday, August 31.

Rerouted northbound trains will stop at the following elevated stations between Cermak/Chinatown and Fullerton: Roosevelt/Wabash, Adams/Wabash, Madison/Wabash, Randolph/Wabash, State/Lake, Clark/Lake, Merchandise Mart, Chicago/Franklin and Sedgwick. Please note, the Merchandise Mart station is available as an exit only (via stairway) from
1 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Northbound Red Line trains will operate normally between the Fullerton and Howard stations and between the 95th Street and Cermak/Chinatown stations. Southbound Red Line service is not affected.

Customers are asked to allow extra travel time.

Southbound Red Line Service Temporarily Suspended at Argyle and Lawrence
Southbound Red Line trains will temporarily operate on southbound Purple Line tracks at the Argyle and Lawrence stations. Southbound Red Line trains will be unable to stop at the Argyle and Lawrence stations from 9 p.m. Friday, August 24 until 9 p.m. Saturday, August 25.

Southbound customers who wish to exit at Argyle and Lawrence should exit at Wilson and board a northbound train or ride the #36 Broadway or #151 Sheridan buses.

Northbound Red Line service is not affected. Normal southbound service will resume at Argyle and Lawrence at
9 p.m. Saturday.

CTA customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Southbound Red Line Service Temporarily Suspended at Jarvis, Morse and Loyola Stations
Southbound Red Line trains will be temporarily unable to stop at the Jarvis, Morse and Loyola stations from 10 p.m. Thursday, August 23 until 4:30 a.m. Friday, August 24 and again from 10 p.m. each night until 4:30 a.m. each morning from Sunday, August 26 through Thursday, August 30.

Southbound customers who want to exit at Jarvis, Morse or Loyola should board a northbound train at Granville and ride back to these stations. Southbound customers who want to board at these stations should board a northbound train, exit at Howard and board a southbound train.

CTA customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Northbound Red Line service is not affected.

Other Events Affecting Weekend Service
Jackson Closed for Viva Chicago and Chicago Jazz Fest

Jackson will be closed between Michigan and Lake Shore Drive from 10 a.m. Thursday, August 23 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, September 3 for Viva Chicago and the Chicago Jazz Fest in Grant Park.

#134 Stockton/LaSalle Express, #151 Sheridan, #135 Clarendon/LaSalle Express and #136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express buses will travel along Lake Shore Drive to Grand then will operate via Grand, Lower Lake Shore Drive, Wacker, Upper Wacker, Harrison then travel north on Franklin and resume the regular route.

Northbound #156 LaSalle buses will operate via Columbus, Monroe to Lake Shore Drive and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Buses Reroute for Construction
State Street will be closed between Washington and Randolph for construction work at Block 37 from 8 a.m. Saturday,
August 25 until 5 a.m. Monday, August 27.

Twelve CTA bus routes will be rerouted to adjacent streets. The routes include:

Columbus Closed for Triathlon
Columbus will be closed between Roosevelt and Balbo
from 3 a.m. Saturday, August 25 until 7 p.m. Sunday,
August 26 for the Accenture Chicago Triathlon 2007.

#6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #14 Jeffery Express, #130 Grant Park Treasures and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will operate in both directions via Columbus, Roosevelt, Michigan, Balbo. Northbound buses will return to Michigan and resume the regular route. Southbound buses will return to Columbus and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra time.

Additional Service Provided for Bears Pre-Season Game Saturday
CTA will provide additional and later service on the #12 Roosevelt, #128 Soldier Field Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express for the Bears pre-season game Saturday, August 25 versus the San Francisco 49ers. The game begins at 7 p.m.

#12 Roosevelt will operate additional buses between State Street and Soldier Field.

#128 Soldier Field Express will operate non-stop between the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and Soldier Field for the convenience of Bears fans. Service will operate from
5:15 p.m. until 7:35 p.m. After the game, buses will leave Soldier Field every few minutes for one hour.

The special fare for #128 buses is $1 for full fare customers and 50 cents for reduced fare customers. The exact cash fare is required to receive the special rate.

#146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express will operate additional buses to Soldier Field every few minutes for two hours before games start and one hour after games end.

In addition to the extra bus service, CTA will operate longer Orange and Green Line trains for customers traveling to and from Soldier Field. The stations are at Roosevelt and State, a few blocks west of the stadium. CTA will operate longer trains and provide additional Customer Assistants at the Roosevelt Green and Orange Line elevated and Red Line subway stations to assist fans.

Buses Reroute for Parade
Buses along the #54 Cicero, #57 Laramie, #70 Division and #72 North Avenue routes will undergo reroutes from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday, August 25 for the Parade for Jesus assembly.

Southbound #54 Cicero buses will travel over the regular route to North Avenue then will operate via Laramie, Division then return to Cicero and resume the regular route.

Northbound #57 Laramie buses will travel over the regular route to Division then will operate via Central, North Avenue then return to Laramie and resume the regular route.

Westbound #70 buses will travel over the regular route to Cicero then will operate via Augusta, Laramie then return to Division and resume the regular route.

Eastbound #72 North Avenue buses will travel over the regular route to Laramie then will operate via Division, Cicero then return to North Avenue and resume the regular route.

Downtown Streets Closed for Filming
Beginning Thursday
LaSalle will be closed between Jackson and Adams from
6 p.m. Thursday, August 23 until 8:30 p.m. Friday,
August 24 and between Jackson and Madison from 8:30 p.m. Friday until 11 p.m. Sunday, August 26. In addition, Jackson, Adams and Monroe will be closed between Clark and Wells from 5 a.m. Saturday, August 25 until 8 p.m. Sunday.

Southbound #14 Jeffery Express and eastbound #60 Blue Island/26th buses will travel over the regular route to Washington then will operate via Washington, Clark, Monroe, Michigan. #14 Jeffery buses will continue along Michigan and resume the regular route. #60 Blue Island buses will head east on Madison then return to Michigan and resume the regular route.

Eastbound #20 Madison and southbound #56 Milwaukee buses will travel over the regular route to Washington then will operate via Washington, Clark, Monroe. #20 buses will continue east on Monroe to State, Washington, Michigan then return to Madison and resume the regular route. #56 buses will travel from Monroe to Michigan to Madison then resume the regular route.

Westbound #126 Jackson and southbound #151 Sheridan buses will travel over the regular route to Dearborn then will operate via Dearborn, Madison, Wacker then return to Adams and resume the regular route. Northbound #151 and eastbound #126 buses will travel over the regular route to Canal then will operate via Canal, Washington then return to Jackson and resume the regular route.

Northbound #134 Stockton/LaSalle Express, #135 Clarendon/LaSalle Express, #136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express and #156 LaSalle buses will travel over the regular route to Franklin then will operate via Washington to LaSalle and resume the regular route. Southbound #134 and #156 buses will travel over the regular route to Madison then will reroute via Madison, Wacker to Adams and resume the regular route.

There is no weekend service on the #134, #135 and #136 routes.

Downtown Buses Reroute for Filming
Beginning Saturday
Northbound #145 Wilson/Michigan Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will undergo reroutes from 7 p.m. each night until 6 a.m. each morning beginning Saturday, August 25 through Monday, August 27.

Buses will operate over the regular route to Wacker then will operate via Wabash, South Water then return to Michigan and resume the regular route. Southbound buses are not affected.

Beginning Sunday
Seven CTA bus routes will undergo reroutes from 7 p.m. Sunday August, 26 until 6 a.m. Monday, August 27 and again at the same time Monday night until Tuesday morning, August 28.

Southbound #2 Hyde Park Express, #6 Jackson Park Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will operate via Michigan, Randolph to State and resume the regular route. Northbound #146 Inner Drive Michigan Express buses will operate via Washington, Michigan to Wacker then return to Michigan and resume the regular route. Northbound #2 and #6 buses are not affected.

Northbound #29 State buses will operate via State, Randolph, Dearborn, Wacker then return to State and resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Wacker, Clark, Washington then return to State and resume the regular route.

Southbound #36 Broadway and #62 Archer buses will operate via State, Wacker, Clark, Washington then return to State and resume the regular route.

Northbound #144 Marine/Michigan Express, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express and #146 Clarendon/Michigan Express buses will operate via State, Washington, Michigan, Wacker then return to Michigan and resume the regular route.

State Closed for Construction
State Street is closed between Chicago and Pearson until
3 p.m. August 31. Northbound #36 Broadway buses are traveling over the regular route to Chicago then operating via Chicago, Dearborn, Oak and returning to State to resume the regular route. Southbound buses are not affected.

New Bus Stop
A new near side bus stop on the #126 Jackson route will be installed at Ashland and Congress beginning Sunday,
August 26. The stop will serve westbound buses that detour through the Illinois Medical District on nights and weekends and will provide a more convenient transfer to #9 Ashland buses.

Single Track in Effect on Brown Line This Weekend
From 3 a.m. Saturday, August 25 until 3 a.m. Monday,
August 27 customers will board Brown Line trains on one side of the platform at Kedzie station due to a single track that will allow construction crews to repair grade crossings at Albany and Spaulding.

The Spaulding Avenue auxiliary entrance to Kedzie station will also be unavailable to customers during these hours.

Chicago Closed for Helicopter Lift
Chicago will be closed at Larrabee for a helicopter lift from
8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday, August 25. #66 Chicago buses operate in both directions via Chicago, Larrabee, Crosby, Division, Halsted then return to Chicago and resume the regular route.

UPDATE
Buses Reroute for Water Main Repairs

The reroute has ended for the #4 Cottage Grove buses due to repairs at the intersection of 67th and Cottage Grove.

Buses along the #67-67th /69th /71st and #N5 South Shore Night route continue to undergo reroutes due to the work.

Eastbound buses will travel over the regular route to Cottage Grove then will operate via Marquette, Maryland then return to 67th and resume the regular route. Westbound buses will travel over the regular route to Ellis then will operate via Marquette, Cottage Grove, then return to 67th and resume the regular route.
