Slow Zone Work
Red Line Trains to Temporarily Reroute to Elevated Tracks

While work is under way to eliminate slow zones, both north and southbound Red Line trains that normally operate through the subway between the Cermak-Chinatown and Fullerton stations will reroute to the elevated tracks from 9 p.m. Friday, April 25 until 3 a.m. Monday, April 28. Elevated stations are located within a block of Red Line subway stations in the Loop. Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Red Line trains will operate normally between the Fullerton and Howard stations and between the 95th and Cermak-Chinatown stations.

Rerouted trains will stop at the following elevated stations between Cermak-Chinatown and Fullerton: Roosevelt/Wabash, Adams/Wabash, Madison/Wabash, Randolph/Wabash, State/Lake, Clark/Lake, Merchandise Mart, Chicago/Franklin and Sedgwick. The Merchandise Mart station is available as an exit only (via stairway) on Saturday morning from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. and Sunday morning from 12:50 a.m. to 7:10 a.m.

Bus shuttle service will operate between the Clark/Division station and North/Clybourn station, stopping at the Sedgwick Brown Line station where customers may board Red Line trains.

Bus shuttle service also will operate from the Grand/State and Chicago/State stations to the Chicago/Franklin Brown Line station where customers may board Red Line trains.

Additional bus shuttle service will operate between Jackson/State, Harrison/State, Jackson/Wabash and Roosevelt/Wabash where customers may board Red Line trains.

Next Week
Northbound Red Line trains will be rerouted from the subway to the elevated tracks from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on four nights next week from Monday, April 28 through Friday morning, May 2.

Northbound Red Line trains will operate normally between the Fullerton and Howard stations and between the 95th Street and Cermak-Chinatown stations.

Southbound Red Line service is not affected weeknights.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Weekend Blue Line Service from Jefferson Park to Cumberland Temporarily Suspended
Rail service between the Jefferson Park, Harlem and Cumberland Blue Line stations will be temporarily suspended from 9 p.m. Friday, April 25 to 3 a.m. Monday, April 28 in order to replace deteriorated rail ties, tie plates and spikes.

Bus shuttles will operate as a substitute for rail service between the Jefferson Park, Harlem and Cumberland stations. Extra travel time is advisable.

Red Line Trains Temporarily Reroute at Sheridan This Weekend
Both north and southbound Red Line trains will be temporarily rerouted to operate on the Purple Express tracks from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26. During this time, all customers at Sheridan must board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of the platform.

Sunday
Northbound Red Line trains will be temporarily rerouted to operate on the Purple Express tracks from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27. During this time, northbound customers at Sheridan must board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

North and Southbound Red Line Trains Temporarily Reroute at Sheridan
From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day beginning Tuesday, April 29 through Friday, May 2,
north and southbound Red Line trains will be temporarily rerouted to operate on the Purple Express tracks.

Customers at the Sheridan station must board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of the platform. Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Brown Line Trains Temporarily Reroute Between Fullerton and Belmont
From 6 a.m. Saturday, April 26 until 6 p.m. Sunday, April 27,
northbound Brown Line trains will be temporarily rerouted between Fullerton and Belmont while crews conduct slow zone elimination work.

During this time, northbound Brown Line trains will be unable to stop at Diversey. Northbound Brown Line customers who wish to exit at Diversey should exit at Belmont and board a southbound train to Diversey. Customers boarding at Diversey who wish to travel northbound should board a southbound train and exit at Fullerton to board a northbound train.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Next Week
From 8 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Monday, April 28 through the morning of Friday, May 2, northbound Brown Line trains will again be temporarily rerouted to operate on Red Line tracks.

During these times, northbound Brown Line trains will be unable to stop at Diversey. Northbound Brown Line customers who wish to exit at Diversey should exit at Belmont and board a southbound train to Diversey. Customers boarding at Diversey who wish to travel northbound should board a southbound train and exit at Fullerton to board a northbound train.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Blue Line Service Changes
Beginning Monday, April 28, the frequency of service along the Forest Park and O'Hare branches of Blue Line will be increased during morning and evening rush periods.

In addition, weekday morning and evening rush service will be eliminated on the 54th/Cermak Blue Line branch due to low ridership. Key destinations along the 54th/Cermak branch such as the UIC campus will continue to be served by the Pink Line, Forest Park Blue Line, #7 Harrison and #38 Ogden/Taylor.

Other Events Affecting Service
Late Night Single Track in Effect for Blue Line Subway This Weekend

A single track will be in effect between the Division and Grand stations from 11 p.m. Friday, April 25 until 6 a.m. Saturday, April 26 and then again from 10 p.m. Saturday, April 26 until 6 a.m. Sunday, April 27.

During these times, southbound customers at the Division, Chicago and Grand stations must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Daytime Single Track in Effect on Green Line
A single track will be in effect between the Austin and Oak Park stations on the Green Line from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, April 26.

Northbound customers at the Austin, Ridgeland and Oak Park stations must board and exit trains on the southbound platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Single Track in Effect on Brown Line
Due to track maintenance work, a single track will be in effect along the Brown Line from 9 p.m. each day until 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Sunday, April 27 through Tuesday, April 29.

Southbound customers at the Kedzie station must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Forest Park Branch of Blue Line
A single track will be in effect between the LaSalle and UIC-Halsted stations on the Blue Line from 9 p.m. Monday, April 28 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, April 29.

Northbound customers at the LaSalle, Clinton and UIC-Halsted stations must board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Late Night Single Track in Effect at the Cumberland Blue Line Station
From 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 until 4 a.m. Wednesday, April 30,
a single track will be in effect at the Cumberland Blue Line station. Northbound customers at the Cumberland station must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on O'Hare Branch of the Blue Line Next Week
A single track will be in effect between the Cumberland and Harlem Blue Line stations from 8 p.m. each night until 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Wednesday, April 30 through Friday morning, May 2.

Southbound customers at the Cumberland and Harlem stations must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Brown Line Next Week
A single track will be in effect between the Francisco and Western stations on the Brown Line from 9 p.m. each day until 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Wednesday, April 30 through Friday morning, May 2.

Southbound customers at the Francisco and Rockwell stations must board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

Southbound customers at the Western station must board and exit trains from the northbound platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

South Entrances to Grand Red Line Station Temporarily Closed
The southeast and southwest entrances to the Grand Red Line station are temporarily closed due to the reconstruction of the Grand station mezzanine and platform.

Customers can access the station from the northeast and northwest entrances.

In addition, the westbound near side stop at Grand and State served by #65 Grand buses has been relocated to a far side stop.

#19 United Center Express Serves Concerts
CTA will operate its #19 United Center Express buses on the following dates and times:

  • Saturday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. " Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige concert
  • Sunday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. " Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige concert

Buses will leave every 12 minutes from Michigan and Superior starting two hours before the concert begins. When the concert ends, #19 buses will depart the United Center approximately every 15 minutes for one hour.

#19 buses will make all stops on Michigan from Superior to Washington, and on Madison from Wabash to Clinton. From Clinton, #19 buses run express to the United Center.

After the concert, #19 buses will await customers on the north side of the United Center eastbound on Madison near Gate 3. On the return trip, #19 buses operate through downtown east on Washington to Wacker, then head south to Monroe and east to Michigan, making all stops to Michigan before turning north on Michigan and making all stops from Randolph to Chicago.

Bus Service Extended
Effective Monday, April 28, select weekday buses operating along the #53A South Pulaski and #53AL South Pulaski Limited routes will be extended to serve the 115th/Springfield CTA bus terminal.

Buses operating to 115th/Springfield will display "to 115th/Keeler" destination signs.

Bus Service Changes Due to Construction at State and Grand
#36 Broadway and southbound #29 State buses are rerouting until further notice at Grand Avenue and State Street due to construction at the Red Line's Grand station.

Southbound #36 and #29 buses will travel over the regular route to Grand then will operate via Clark to Hubbard then return to State and resume the regular route.

Northbound #36 buses will travel over the regular route to Dearborn then will operate via Dearborn to Ohio, then return to State and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

In addition, effective immediately the near side service stop located at Grand and State serviced by the westbound #29 State, #36 Broadway and #65 Grand buses has been relocated to a near side service stop at Grand and Dearborn until further notice.

Buses Reroute for Viaduct Repairs This Weekend
#67 67th/69th/71st buses will be rerouted in both directions beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, April 25 through 5 a.m. Monday, April 28 due to viaduct repairs.

Buses operating in both directions will travel over the regular route to Western then will operate via Western, 67th, Damen, 69th and resume the regular route.

Bus Service Stop Relocation
Effective immediately, the near side service stop located at Madison and Wells will be returned to a far side stop. This stop is served by westbound #14 Jeffrey Express, #20 Madison, #X20 Washington/Madison Express, #56 Milwaukee, #60 Blue Island/26th Street, #124 Navy Pier, #127 Madison/Roosevelt Circular and #157 Streeterville buses.

Ravenswood 5K Run Reroutes Buses
From 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Sunday, April 27, Wilson between Leavitt and Giddings; Damen between Leland and Paulina; and Irving Park between Hermitage and Wilson will be closed for the Ravenswood 5K Run.

#50 Damen buses will operate in both directions via Damen, Montrose, Western, Lawrence then return to Damen and resume the regular route.

#78 Montrose buses will operate in both directions via Montrose, Damen, Irving Park, Ashland then return to Montrose and resume the regular route.

Westbound #80 Irving Park and #X80 Irving Park Express buses will travel over the regular route to Ashland then will operate via Ashland, Addison, Damen and then return to Irving Park and resume the regular route.

Eastbound #145 Wilson/Michigan Express buses will travel over the regular route to Lawrence and then will operate via Lawrence, Ashland, Wilson and then resume the regular route.

Bridge Reconstruction Reroutes Buses
Beginning at 5 a.m. Monday, April 28, #205 Chicago/Golf buses will be rerouted until November 16, due to bridge reconstruction on Emerson between Leland and McCormick.

#205 Buses will operate in both directions via Church, McCormick to Golf and then resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Buses Rerouted Due To Construction Through May 10
Westbound #170 University of Chicago/Midway and #192 University of Chicago Hospitals Express buses continue to be rerouted until May 10, due to construction on 59th Street at Drexel.

#170 buses will travel over the regular route to Ellis then will operate via Ellis, Midway Plaisance, Drexel to Cottage Grove and then resume the regular route.

#192 University of Chicago Hospitals Express buses will travel over the regular route to Ellis then will operate via Ellis, Midway Plaisance, Drexel, Midway Plaisance then return to Cottage Grove and resume the regular route.

A temporary stop has been placed on Drexel to accommodate the service.

Buses Rerouted Due to Construction
Southbound #201Central/Ridge and #206 Evanston Circulator buses will be rerouted until 5 a.m. Thursday, July 31 due to street reconstruction.

#201 and #206 buses will travel over the regular route to Greenleaf then will operate via Greenleaf, Asbury, Howard, Ridge and then resume the regular route.

Buses Rerouted on Pulaski Due to Construction
#53 Pulaski buses are rerouting until Tuesday, July 15 at Pulaski and Roscoe, due to water main repairs.

#53 buses will operate in both directions via Pulaski, Belmont, Kimball, Addison then return to Pulaski and resume the regular route.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

Buses Reroute for Construction Through September
#87 87th buses continue to be rerouted in both directions until 5 a.m. Wednesday, September 17 due to street reconstruction.

Eastbound buses will travel over the regular route to Vincennes then will operate via Vincennes, 83rd, Lafayette then return to 87th and resume the regular route. Westbound buses will travel over the regular route to State then will operate via State, 83rd, Vincennes then return to 87th and resume the regular route.

Buses Reroute Downtown for Construction
From midnight each night until 6 a.m. the following morning Randolph Street will be closed from State to Dearborn through Saturday, November 1.

In addition, Dearborn Street is closed between Washington and Randolph from 9 p.m. each day until 6 a.m. the following morning through Saturday, November 1.

Northbound #22 Clark, #36 Broadway and #62 Archer buses will travel over the regular route to Washington then will operate via Monroe, State, Wacker then return to Dearborn and resume the regular route.

Buses Reroute Due to Construction
Halsted is closed at Root Street between the hours of 6 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. and again at4 p.m. until 6 p.m. each day until further notice, due to construction.

#43 43rd buses will operate in both directions via Halsted, 45th Street, Morgan to Exchange and then resume the regular route.

Buses Reroute at Clark and Polk
Until further notice, #22 Clark and #36 Broadway buses will be rerouted in the area of Clark and Polk streets.

Southbound #22 buses will travel over the regular route to Harrison then will operate via Harrison, Wells for the end of route. Northbound buses will leave from Harrison-Wells via Wells, Polk, Dearborn and then resume the regular route.

Southbound #36 Broadway buses will travel over the regular route to State then will operate via State, Harrison, Wells for the end of the route. Northbound will leave from Harrison-Wells via Wells, Polk, Dearborn and then resume the regular route.
