EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER 12 – 14

26th Street Closed for Festival and Parade26th Street is closed between Cicero and Kostner for the Little Village Festival going on now through 12 a.m. Monday, September 15. During this closure, #60 Blue Island-26th buses will operate in both directions via Cermak, Cicero and to the terminal at 24th Place.

Additionally, 26th Street will be closed from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 14 between Cicero and California for the 26th Street Mexican Independence Day Parade. #60 Blue Island-26th buses will operate in both directions via California, Cermak, Cicero and to the terminal at 24th Place.

Movie Filming Closes Broadway in Two Locations over the WeekendMovie production will close Broadway between Lawrence and Wilson from 11:59 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday. #36 Broadway buses will operate in both directions via Lawrence, Sheridan, Wilson, back to Broadway then resume the regular route.

Broadway also will be closed between Lawrence and Montrose from 8 p.m. Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday. #36 buses will operate in both directions via Lawrence, Sheridan, back to Broadway then resume the regular route.

Movie Filming Closes 79th Street until Mid-September Filming will close 79th Street between Escanaba and Exchange intermittently for 16 days until Wednesday, September 17. On the affected dates, the closures will occur from approximately 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. #79 79th buses will be rerouted in both directions via Yates, 75th, South Shore Drive, back to 79th then resume the regular route. Due to weather and other circumstances, these dates are subject to change.

Damen Closes for Ongoing Renovation of the Cermak (Douglas) Branch of the Blue LineDamen will be closed between Cullerton and 21st Street from 5 a.m. Saturday until 6 p.m. Sunday for the continuing renovation of the Cermak (Douglas) Branch of the Blue Line. #50 Damen buses will operate in both directions via Cermak, Ashland, 18th, back to Damen then resume the regular route.

More Frequent Bus Service Provided for Jackson Park Festival#10 Museum of Science and Industry buses will operate every 15 minutes during regular service hours (8:55 a.m. until 5:40 p.m. Saturday and Sunday) for customers attending the Osaka Garden Festival in Jackson Park this weekend.

Longer Purple Line Trains Provided for Northwestern Wildcats FootballThe Northwestern Wildcats host Miami of Ohio at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Longer Purple Line trains will operate beginning at 9 a.m. and after the game as crowds warrant. Ryan Field is just west of the Central station in Evanston.

Special Yellow Line Service Provided for Celtic FestYellow Line trains will operate from 9 a.m. until midnight Saturday and Sunday for customers attending Celtic Fest from 11 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. in Grant Park. Yellow Line trains, which typically do not operate on weekends, connect to Red Line trains at Howard for trips downtown.

Halsted Bridge Closed for CleaningThe Halsted Street bridge over the south branch of the Chicago River is closed for cleaning daily from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. until Tuesday, September 16. #8 Halsted buses will operate in both directions via Archer, Loomis, Cermak, back to Halsted then resume the regular route.

39th Street Closed for Metra Viaduct Work39th Street is closed at LaSalle while the old Rock Island Metra viaduct is demolished and reconstructed. 39th Street is expected to reopen Monday, September 22 at 5 p.m. Eastbound #39 Pershing buses will operate via LaSalle, 35th, State, back to 39th then resume the regular route. Westbound #39 buses will operate via State, 35th, Wentworth, back to 39th then resume the regular route.

Construction Closes 103rd until the End of SeptemberStreet reconstruction has closed the eastbound lanes of 103rd Street between Dauphin and Cottage Grove. The closure is expected to last until September 30.#106 East 103rd buses will operate eastbound via King Drive, 107th, Cottage Grove, back to 103rd then resume the regular route.

Construction Closes McCormick until Early OctoberMcCormick is closed between Devon and Lincoln for construction until Monday, October 6. #11 Lincoln buses will operate in both directions via Devon, Kedzie, back to Lincoln then resume the regular route.

#82 Kimball/Homan buses will operate in both directions via Homan, Devon, back to Kimball then resume the regular route.
