Blue Line – Other Events Affecting Service

Late Night Trains to Operate on the Same Tracks on the Forest Park Branch Next Week

All Blue Line trains will be routed to operate on the westbound (to Forest Park) tracks between the Western and UIC-Halsted stations from 10 p.m. Monday, September 13 until 4 a.m. the following morning and then again from 10 p.m. Tuesday, September 14 until 4 a.m. the following morning, due to track maintenance work.
 
During these times, Blue Line customers at the Illinois Medical District and Racine stations traveling eastbound (to O’Hare) must board and exit trains from the westbound (to Forest Park) side of the platform.
 
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
 
Wednesday and Thursday Night
From 10 p.m. Wednesday, September 15 until 4 a.m. the following morning and then again from 10 p.m. Thursday, September 16 until 4 a.m. the following morning, trains will be routed to operate on the westbound (to Forest Park) tracks between the Racine and LaSalle stations as track maintenance and sewer cleaning work continues.
 
During these times, Blue Line customers at the UIC-Halsted, Clinton and LaSalle stations traveling eastbound (to O’Hare) must board and exit trains from the westbound (to Forest Park) side of the platform.
 
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
 

Red Line – Other Events Affecting Service

Late Night Trains to Operate on the Same Tracks at the 47th Street Station Next Week

All late night Red Line trains will be routed to operate on the southbound (to 95th/Dan Ryan) tracks at the 47th Street station from 11 p.m. each night until 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Sunday, September 12 through Friday morning, September 17, due to track maintenance work.
 
Red Line customers at the 47th Street station traveling northbound (to Howard) must board and exit trains from the southbound (to 95th/Dan Ryan) side of the platform.
 
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
 

Purple Line – Other Events Affecting Service

Daytime Trains to Operate on the Same Tracks at Noyes and Foster on Sunday

All Purple Line trains will be routed to operate on the northbound (to Linden) tracks between the Central and Davis stations from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, September 12, due to track maintenance work.
 
Purple Line customers at the Noyes and Foster stations traveling southbound (to Howard) must board and exit trains from the northbound (to Linden) side of the platform.
 
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
 

Service for Upcoming Events

Longer Purple Line Trains for Northwestern Wildcats Football on Saturday

The Northwestern Wildcats host the Illinois State Redbirds at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 11. Longer Purple Line trains will begin operating from approximately 9:30 a.m. and continue until after the game as crowds warrant. Ryan Field is just west of the Purple Line’s Central station in Evanston.
 

CTA Scores a Touchdown with Service to Bears Home Games 

CTA provides convenient and affordable service all season long for fans heading to Soldier Field for the Chicago Bears 2010-2011 football season. The season begins Sunday, September 12, versus the Detroit Lions. Kickoff is at Noon.
 
For the home opener on Sunday, supplemental service will be provided on the #128 Soldier Field Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express. #128 Soldier Field Express buses will operate non-stop between the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and Soldier Field for the convenience of Bears fans.
 
CTA’s Red, Orange and Green line trains also provide a convenient connection to Soldier Field.

Service Changes for Mexican Independence Day Festivities

Longer Trains Operating on Orange and Pink Lines This Weekend for Mexican Independence Day Parades

To accommodate an increase in customers traveling to and from the Mexican Independence Day parades this weekend, the CTA will operate longer trains along the Orange and Pink lines during the following times:
 
  • Orange Line: Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Pink Line: Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
 

Currently in Effect: Festival de la Villita Detours #60 Blue Island/26th Buses

Currently in effect until 3 a.m. Monday, September 13, #60 Blue Island/26th buses are being detoured due to the closure of 26th Street between Kostner and Ogden for the annual Festival de la Villita.
 
Westbound #60 Blue Island/26th buses are operating over the regular route along 26th Street to Kostner then are traveling via Kostner, Ogden to Cicero and resuming the regular route north along Cicero to the terminal at Cicero/24th Place before beginning eastbound service.
 
Eastbound #60 buses are traveling over the regular route along Cicero to Ogden then are operating via Ogden, Kostner to 26th Street and resuming the regular route.
 
NOTE: #60 Blue Island/26th buses will undergo further rerouting on Sunday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. due to the 26th Street Mexican Independence Day parade. See reroute details below.
 

Saturday: Mexican Independence Day Parade in Grant Park Detours Three Routes

On Saturday, September 11 from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m., #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry and #14 Jeffery Express buses will be rerouted due to the closure of Columbus Drive between Balbo and Roosevelt, and Balbo Drive between Michigan and Lake Shore Drive for the Mexican Independence Day parade.
 
Northbound #6, #10 and #14 buses will travel over their regular routes along Columbus to Roosevelt then will operate via Roosevelt to Michigan and resume their regular routes.
 
Southbound #6, #10 and #14 buses will operate via Michigan, Roosevelt to Columbus and then will resume their regular routes.
 

Saturday: Pilsen Mexican Independence Day Parade Detours Three Routes

On Saturday, September 11 from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., #9 Ashland, #18 16th/18th Street and #60 Blue Island/26th buses will be rerouted due to the closure of 18th Street between Newberry and Wolcott for the Pilsen Mexican Independence Day parade.
 
Participants will begin assembling at 10 a.m. The parade will step-off at noon.
 
Northbound #9 buses will operate over the regular route along Ashland to Cermak then will travel via Cermak, Damen, Roosevelt to Ashland and then resume the regular route. Southbound #9 buses will travel the reverse route.
 
Eastbound #18 buses will travel over the regular route along 18th Street to Damen then will operate via Damen, Cermak to Halsted and then resume the regular route. Westbound #18 buses will travel the reverse route.
 
Eastbound #60 buses will operate over the regular route along Cermak past Loomis to Halsted then will travel via Halsted, Roosevelt to Racine and then resume the regular route. Westbound #60 buses will travel the reverse route.
 

Sunday: 26th Street Mexican Independence Day Parade Detours Four Routes

From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday, September 12, #52 Kedzie/California, #53 Pulaski, #60 Blue Island/26th and #82 Kimball/Homan buses will be detoured due to the closure of 26th Street between California and Kostner for the 26th Street Mexican Independence Day parade. 
 
Participants will assemble at 6 a.m. The parade will step-off at noon.
 
#52 Kedzie/California
Southbound #52 buses will travel over the regular route along Kedzie to Cermak then will operate via Cermak, Marshall, 24th Boulevard, California, 36th Place, Albany, 36th Street to Kedzie and then resume the regular route.
 
Northbound #52 buses will operate over the regular route along Kedzie to 36th Street then will travel via 36th Street, California, 24th Boulevard, Marshall, Cermak to Kedzie and then resume the regular route.
 
#53 Pulaski
Southbound #53 buses only will travel to Pulaski/Cermak before turning to begin northbound service. Northbound #53 buses will begin service from Pulaski/Cermak and will operate north on Pulaski over the regular route.
 
#53 Pulaski – Short-Run Service Only
Southbound #53 buses that only operate between Pulaski/Cermak and 31st Street/Komensky will travel over the regular route along Pulaski to Ogden then will operate via Ogden, Cicero, 31st Street to the terminal at 31st/Komensky.
 
Northbound #53 short-run buses will depart from the terminal and travel west on 31st Street to Cicero then will operate via Cicero, Ogden, Kostner, Cermak to Pulaski and then resume the regular route.
 
#60 Blue Island/26th
Westbound #60 buses will operate over the regular route along 26th Street to California then will travel via California, 24th Boulevard, Marshall, Cermak, Cicero to the terminal at Cicero/24th Place. Eastbound #60 buses will travel the reverse route.
 
#82 Kimball-Homan
Southbound #82 buses only will travel to Central Park/Ogden before turning to begin northbound service. Northbound #82 buses will travel north on Central Park over the regular route.
 
#82 Kimball-Homan – Short-Run Service Only
Southbound #82 Kimball-Homan buses that only operate between Central Park/Cermak and Central Park/31st Street will depart from Central Park/Cermak then will travel via Cermak, Ogden, Cicero, 31st Street to the terminal at 31st/Lawndale.
 
Northbound #82 short-run buses will depart from the terminal and operate via 31st Street, Cicero, Ogden, Cermak to the Central Park/Cermak terminal.
 

Sunday: South Chicago Mexican Independence Day Parade Detours Four Routes

From noon until 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, #30 South Chicago, #71 71st/South Shore, #87 87th Street and #95E 93rd/95th buses will be rerouted for the South Chicago Mexican Independence Day Parade.
 
Participants will assemble along 83rd Street between South Shore and Commercial beginning at noon. The parade will step-off at 2 p.m. and will proceed south on Commercial Avenue to 100th Street.
 
Northbound #30 buses will operate over the regular route to 92nd Street/Houston before turning to begin southbound service. From 92nd Street/Houston, southbound #30 buses will travel via Houston, 93rd Street, Baltimore, 92nd Street to Houston and resume the regular route.
 
Southbound #71 buses will travel over the regular route along 83rd Street past Exchange to South Chicago then will operate via South Chicago, Exchange, 93rd Street, Colfax to Torrence and then resume the regular route south of 104th Street. Northbound #71 buses will travel the reverse route.
 
Eastbound #87 87th buses will operate over the regular route along 87th to South Chicago then will travel via South Chicago, Exchange to 92nd Street before turning to begin westbound service. Westbound #87 buses will travel north on South Chicago to 87th Street then resume the regular route along 87th Street.
 
Eastbound #95E 93rd/95th buses only will operate along 92nd Street to Exchange before turning to begin westbound service. Westbound #95E buses will travel south on Exchange over the regular route.
 

New/Updated Changes in Bus Service 

NEW: Community Festival Detours #4 Cottage Grove Buses on Saturday

From 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday, September 11, #4 Cottage Grove buses will be rerouted due to the closure of Cottage Grove between 44th Street and 45th Street for the Quad Communities Development Corporation Annual Community Festival.
 
Northbound #4 buses will travel over the regular route along Cottage Grove to 47th Street then will operate via 47th Street, Drexel, 43rd Street to Cottage Grove and then resume the regular route. Southbound #4 buses will travel the reverse route.
 

NEW: Bus Stop at Harrison/Financial Place Temporarily Removed

Effective at the start of service on Monday, September 13 until Monday, October 11, the northbound near side stop at Harrison/Financial Place will be temporarily removed from service due to nearby construction. This stop is served by #36 Broadway and #145 Wilson/Michigan Express buses.
 
 

Temporary Reroute of #111 Pullman/111th/115th Buses at Ellis/111th Street

Currently in effect until 4 p.m. Friday, September 10, #111 Pullman/111th/115th buses are being rerouted due to the temporary closure of Ellis Avenue at 111th Street for the FEMA Flood Assistance Program.
 
Southbound #111 buses are traveling over the regular route along 111th Street past Ellis to Corliss then are operating via Corliss, 114th Street, Doty, Corliss to 111th Street before beginning northbound service. From 111th Street/Corliss, northbound #111 buses are traveling west on 111th Street over the regular route.
 

Two Bus Routes Currently Being Detoured for the German American Fest

Currently in effect until noon on Monday, September 13, #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick and #49B North Western buses are being rerouted due to the closure of Leland Avenue between Western and Lincoln, and Lincoln Avenue between Leland and Wilson for the annual German American Fest.
 
Southbound #11 buses are operating over the regular route along Western past Leland to Montrose then are traveling via Montrose to Lincoln and resuming the regular route. Northbound #11 buses are traveling the reverse route.
 
Southbound #49B buses are traveling over the regular route along Western past Leland to Montrose then are operating via Montrose, Lincoln, Wilson, Western to Western/Leland before beginning northbound service. From Western/Leland, northbound #49B buses will travel over the regular route.
 

Annual Auburn Gresham 79th Street Renaissance Festival Detours #79 79th Buses

From 7 p.m. Friday, September 10 until 11 p.m. Saturday, September 11, #79 79th Street buses will be detoured due to the closure of 79th Street between Racine and Laflin for the annual Auburn Gresham 79th Street Renaissance Festival.
 
Westbound #79 79th buses will travel over the regular route along 79th Street to Racine and then will operate via Racine, 76th Street, Ashland to 79th Street and then resume the regular route. Eastbound #79 buses will travel the reverse route.
 

Lakeview East Fine Arts Festival Detours #36 Broadway Buses This Weekend

From 6 p.m. Friday, September 10 until 5 a.m. Monday, September 13, #36 Broadway buses will be rerouted due to the closure of Broadway between Belmont and Roscoe for the Lakeview East Fine Arts Festival.
 
Northbound #36 buses will operate over the regular route along Broadway to Belmont then will travel via Belmont, Halsted, Addison to Broadway and then resume the regular route. Southbound #36 buses will travel the reverse route. 
 

Renegade Craft Fair Detours #70 Division Buses This Weekend

Division Street will be closed between Damen and Hermitage from 1 a.m. Saturday, September 11 until 6 a.m. Monday, September 13, for the Renegade Craft Fair. Due to this street closure, #70 Division buses will be rerouted.  
 
Eastbound #70 buses will operate over the regular route along Division to Damen then will travel via Damen, Augusta, Ashland to Division and then resume the regular route. Westbound #70 buses will travel the reverse route.
 

Von Steuben Day Parade Temporarily Detours Four Routes on Saturday

From noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick, #49 Western, #49B North Western and #78 Montrose buses will be detoured due to the closure of Lincoln Avenue between Irving Park and Leland, and Leland Avenue between Lincoln and Western for the annual Von Steuben Day Parade.
 
Northbound #11 buses will operate over the regular route along Lincoln to Damen then will travel via Damen, Lawrence to Western and then resume the regular route. Southbound #11 buses will travel the reverse route.
 
Northbound #49 buses will travel over the regular route along Western to Irving Park, then will operate via Irving Park, Damen, Lawrence to Western and then resume the regular route. Southbound #49 buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route.
 
Southbound #49B buses will operate over the regular route along Western to Foster then will travel via Foster, Lincoln to Western before beginning northbound service. From Western/Winnemac, northbound #49B buses will travel north on Western over the regular route.
 
Eastbound #78 buses will travel over the regular route along Montrose to Western then will operate via Western, Irving Park, Damen to Montrose and resume the regular route. Westbound #78 buses will travel the reverse route.
 

Chicago Half Marathon & 5K Detours Six Routes in Jackson Park Area on Sunday

Six CTA bus routes operating in the Jackson Park area will be subject to detours on Sunday, September 12 from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. due to the annual Chicago Half Marathon & 5K. Routes that will be affected are: #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #14 Jeffery Express, #15 Jeffery Local, #28 Stony Island and #55 Garfield.
 
Participants will assemble at the intersection of Cornell/Hayes. The race begins at 7 a.m. and will circle Jackson Park, Jackson Park Golf Course, Jackson Park Harbors and Lake Shore Drive.
 
The following reroutes may go into effect intermittently due to street closures:
 
#6 Jackson Park Express
Northbound #6 buses will operate over the regular route along 67th Street past Stony Island to Cottage Grove then will travel via Cottage Grove, 55th Street, Lake Park, 56th Street, Hyde Park, Lake Park, 47th Street, King Drive, Cermak, Michigan to Balbo and then resume the regular route. Southbound #6 buses will travel the reverse.
 
#10 Museum of Science & Industry
Southbound #10 buses will travel over the regular route along Balbo to Michigan then will operate via Michigan,47th Street, Lake Park, 56th Street, Hyde Park to Hyde Park/55th Street before beginning northbound service.
 
From Hyde Park/55th Street, northbound #10 buses will continue north on Hyde Park to Lake Park then will operate via Lake Park, 47th Street, King Drive, Cermak, Michigan to Balbo and then resume the regular route.
 
#14 Jeffery Express
Northbound #14 buses will travel over the regular route along Jeffery to 67th Street then will operate via 67th Street, King Drive, Cermak, Michigan to Balbo and then resume the regular route. Southbound #14 buses will travel the reverse route.
 
#15 Jeffery Local and #28 Stony Island
Northbound #15 and #28 buses will operate over their regular routes to 67th Street/Stony Island then will travel via 67th Street, Cottage Grove, 55th Street to Lake Park and then resume their regular routes. Southbound #15 and #28 buses will travel the reverse route.
 
#55 Garfield
Eastbound #55 buses will travel over the regular route along 55th Street to Lake Park then will operate via Lake Park, 56th Street, Hyde Park to 55th Street before beginning westbound service. From Lake Park/55th Street, westbound #55 buses will operate west along Hyde Park over the regular route.

Street Repair Work Detours Eastbound #74 Fullerton Buses

Currently in effect until further notice, #74 Fullerton buses are being detoured due to the closure of Webster Avenue between Halsted and Lincoln due to street repair work.
 
Eastbound #74 buses are operating over the regular route along Halsted to Belden then are traveling via Belden to Lincoln and resuming the regular route. Westbound #74 buses are not affected and are traveling over the regular route.
 

Daytime Reroute in Effect for Eastbound #71 71st/South Shore Buses

Currently in effect from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day through Wednesday, September 15, #71 71st/South Shore buses are being rerouted due to the closure of the eastbound lanes of 71st Street between Dorchester and Dante for emergency sewer repair work.
 
Eastbound #71 buses are traveling over the regular route along 71st Street to Dorchester then are operating via Dorchester, 71st Place, Stony Island to 71st Street and resuming the regular route. Westbound #71 buses are not affected and are traveling over the regular route.
 

Temporary Reroute for Select #24 Wentworth Buses 

Currently in effect until 4 p.m. Friday, September 24, only #24 Wentworth buses traveling to 87th Street/Racine are being temporarily rerouted due to sewer repair work on Vincennes Avenue near Lowe Avenue.
 
#24 Wentworth – Trips to 87th Street/Racine Only
Northbound #24 buses are operating over the regular route along Vincennes to Halsted then are traveling via Halsted to the 79th Street/Halsted terminal and continuing through the terminal to Emerald then operating via Emerald, 79th to Vincennes and resuming the regular route. Southbound #24 buses are traveling the reverse route.
 

Temporary Relocation of #75 74th/75th Bus Stop at 75th Street/Jeffery

Currently in effect until 4 p.m. Thursday, September 30, the eastbound near side stop at 75th Street/Jeffery served by #75 74th/75th buses has been temporarily relocated to a far side stop due to nearby construction.
 

Temporary Reroute in Effect for #78 Montrose Buses Due to Work at Clark/Wilson

Currently in effect until 4 p.m. Friday, October 29, #78 Montrose buses are temporarily unable to make turns at the intersection of Clark/Wilson due to a streetscape project.
 
Eastbound #78 Montrose buses are operating over the regular route along Montrose to Ashland then are traveling via Ashland, Wilson past Clark and then resuming the regular route east on Wilson. Westbound #78 buses are traveling the reverse route.
 

Buses Rerouted on Saturdays for the Near North Farmer’s Market

From 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. every Saturday through October 30, Division Street between State and Clark will be closed for the Near North Farmer’s Market, resulting in a detour of the #36 Broadway and #70 Division bus routes.
 
Southbound #36 buses will travel over the regular route along Clark past Division to Maple then will operate via Maple to State and then resume the regular route. Northbound #36 buses will operate over the regular route along State to Elm then will travel via Elm to Clark and then resume the regular route.
 
Eastbound #70 buses will travel over the regular route along Division to Clark and then will operate via Clark, Maple to Dearborn and then resume the regular route. Westbound #70 buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route. 
 

#111 Pullman/111th/115th Buses Undergo Reroutes Due to Bridge Repair Work

Currently in effect until 4 p.m. Sunday, October 31, the 111th Street Bridge over Interstate 57 (I-57) is closed to all traffic due to bridge and deck replacement work, resulting in a detour of the #111 Pullman/111th/115th bus route.
 
Southbound #111 buses are operating over the regular route along 111th Street to Marshfield then traveling via Marshfield, 112th Place, Hamlet to 111th Street and then resuming the regular route east on 111th Street.
 
Northbound #111 buses are traveling over the regular route along 111th Street to Throop then operating via Throop, 107th Street, Vincennes and then resuming the regular route south on Vincennes past 111th Street.
 

Change to Bus Stop along #156 LaSalle Bus Route

A traffic lane reduction is in effect at LaSalle/Kinzie due to a Commonwealth Edison project. As a result, the northbound far side stop served by #156 LaSalle buses has been temporarily removed from service until Friday, November 12.
 

Construction Temporarily Detours #14 Jeffery Express Buses in the Loop

Currently in effect until 6 p.m. Friday, November 19, #14 Jeffery Express buses are being detoured due to the closure of Monroe Street between Franklin and LaSalle for nearby construction.
 
Southbound #14 buses are traveling over the regular route along Monroe to Franklin then operating via Franklin, Washington, LaSalle to Monroe and resuming the regular route. Northbound #14 buses are not affected and are traveling over the regular route.
 
Bus Stop Changes
  • Monroe/Franklin: the southbound near side stop has been temporarily relocated to a far side stop on Franklin at Monroe.
  • Monroe/LaSalle: the southbound near side stop has been temporarily relocated to a far side stop.
 

Temporary Relocation of Bus Stop at Jeffery/75th Street

Currently in effect until further notice, the southbound far side bus stop at Jeffery/75th Street has been temporarily relocated to a near side stop due to sidewalk construction. This stop is served by southbound #14 Jeffery Express and #15 Jeffery Local buses.
 

Temporary Changes in Service for #21 Cermak and #62 Archer Buses Serving the Cermak-Chinatown Station

Currently in effect, customers at the Cermak-Chinatown Red Line station must use the new entrance located on Archer Avenue approximately one block north of Cermak. This entrance will serve as the primary access point for customers while the main entrance to the station on the north side of Cermak is reconstructed and made accessible. 
 
As a result of these changes, and to accommodate customers transferring between bus and rail services, the following changes have been made to buses serving the station:
 
#21 Cermak
Eastbound #21 Cermak buses are traveling over the regular route along Cermak to Wentworth then operating via Wentworth, Archer, Clark to Cermak and resuming the regular route. Westbound #21 buses are traveling the reverse route.
 
  • Cermak/Wentworth: the near side stop at Cermak/Wentworth served by eastbound #21 buses has been temporarily removed from service.
  • Wentworth/Cermak: new temporary stops have been added at Wentworth/Cermak for eastbound and westbound #21 buses. Eastbound customers must board and exit buses from the far side stop; westbound customers must board and exit buses from the near side stop.
  • Cermak/Red Line Station: the mid-block stop near the Cermak Road entrance of the Cermak-Chinatown station has been temporarily removed from service.
  • Archer/Red Line Station: eastbound #21 buses are serving the new temporary mid-block stop near the Archer Avenue entrance of the Cermak-Chinatown station.
  • Wentworth/Archer: westbound #21 buses are serving the new temporary far side stop at Wentworth/Archer.
 
#62 Archer
  • Archer/Wentworth: the northbound near side stop at Archer/Wentworth served by #62 buses has been removed from service.
  • Archer/Red Line Station: northbound #62 buses are serving the new mid-block stop near the Archer Avenue entrance of the Cermak-Chinatown station.
 

#56 Milwaukee Bus Stop at Milwaukee/Diversey Temporarily Relocated

Until further notice, the southbound near side bus stop at Milwaukee/Diversey served by #56 Milwaukee buses has been temporarily relocated to a far side stop.

 

Lane Restrictions near State and Grand Detour #29 State and #36 Broadway Buses

Due to lane restrictions associated with the Grand/State Red Line rehabilitation project at the northwest corner of State Street and Grand Avenue, #29 State and #36 Broadway buses are being detoured to adjacent streets until further notice.
 
Southbound #29 buses are operating over the regular route along Grand past State to Clark then traveling via Clark, Illinois to State and resuming the regular route. Northbound #29 buses are traveling along the remaining open lane along State and over the regular route.
 
Southbound #36 buses are traveling over the regular route along State to Ontario then operating via Ontario, Clark, Illinois to State and resuming the regular route. Northbound #36 buses are operating over the regular route along Dearborn past Illinois to Ohio then traveling via Ohio to State and resuming the regular route.
 

Temporary Changes to Bus Stops near Sheridan/Foster

Currently in effect until further notice, the northbound near side stop at Sheridan/Foster has been temporarily removed from service due to the demolition and reconstruction of a nearby building. This stop is served by #136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan buses.
 

Temporary Removal of #126 Jackson Bus Stop at Jackson/Sangamon

Currently in effect until Friday, September 30, 2011, the eastbound far side stop at Jackson/Sangamon served by #126 Jackson buses has been temporarily removed from service due to nearby construction. Customers may board and exit eastbound #126 buses at either Jackson/Morgan or Jackson/Peoria.
 

Service Adjustments Due to the Congress/Wacker Construction Project

Due to the Congress/Wacker Construction Project, Franklin Street between Harrison and Van Buren and Lower Wacker Drive between Randolph and Harrison are closed until May 2012. As a result of these closures and other street reconfigurations, the following changes in bus service currently are in effect:
 
#11 Lincoln/Sedgwick
Northbound #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick buses are traveling over the regular route along Harrison to Canal then are operating via Canal, Jackson to Franklin and resuming the regular route. Southbound #11 buses are not affected and are traveling over the regular route.
 
The following temporary changes also have been made to bus stops served by northbound #11 buses:
 
  • Canal/Harrison: a far side stop has been added to service.
  • Canal/Jackson: a near side stop has been added to service.
  • Jackson at the Chicago River: a near side stop has been added to service.
  • 404 W. Harrison: the mid-block stop has been removed from service.
  • Franklin/Van Buren: the far side stop has been removed from service.
 
#121 Union/Wacker Express
Northbound #121 Union/Wacker Express buses are operating over the regular route along Jackson past Wacker to Franklin then are traveling via Franklin, Lake, Post Place to Lower Wacker and then resuming the regular route.
 
Southbound #121 buses are operating over the regular route along Lower Wacker to the exit ramp for Upper Wacker and then traveling via Upper Wacker to Adams and resuming the regular route west on Adams.
 
#135 Clarendon/LaSalle Express
From Union Station, northbound #135 Clarendon/LaSalle Express buses are traveling south on Wacker to Jackson then are traveling east on Jackson past Franklin and resuming the regular route.
 
The following temporary changes have been made to bus stops served by northbound #135 buses:
 
  • Jackson/Franklin: a near side stop has been added to service.
  • Franklin/Jackson: the near side stop has been removed from service.
 
#136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express
From Union Station, northbound #136 Sheridan/LaSalle buses are operating south on Wacker to Van Buren then are traveling via Van Buren, Canal to Jackson and resuming the regular route.
 
The following temporary changes have been made to bus stops served by northbound #136 buses:
 
  • Jackson/Franklin: a near side stop has been added to service.
  • Franklin/Jackson: the near side stop has been removed from service.
 
#156 LaSalle (PM Service Only)
During the evening rush period only, northbound #156 LaSalle buses departing from Union Station are traveling west on Van Buren to Wacker then are operating via Wacker to Jackson and resuming the regular route.
 
The following temporary bus stop change has been made and is in effect for northbound #156 buses during the evening rush period only: 
 
  • Franklin/Jackson: the near side stop has been removed from service.
