EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER 10 - 12

Single Track in Effect on Red Line over the WeekendDue to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 47th and 63rd Streets from 8 p.m. Friday until 3 p.m. Saturday and northbound in the same location from 8 p.m. Saturday until 3 p.m. Sunday.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Monday through Next ThursdaySingle track service will be in effect southbound between 15th and 33rd Streets from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, September 13 and Tuesday night, September 14, and northbound in the same location Wednesday night, September 15.

Single track service also will be in effect southbound between 87th and 95th Streets from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. Thursday night September 16.

Customers should allow extra travel time.

Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceCTA trains will begin using by-pass tracks between 52nd and 56th Streets Friday and Saturday, September 10 and 11. The by-pass tracks will be in place until early November.

CTA trains also are using by-pass tracks between 92nd and 96th Streets until late September.

Customers will continue to board trains at their normal stations.

Leland Closed for German-American FestivalLeland is closed between Lincoln and Western, and Western is closed between Leland and Montrose from now until noon on Monday, September 13. #11 Lincoln buses will operate in both directions via Western, Leland, Montrose, back to Lincoln, then resume the regular route.

#49B North Western buses will operate in both directions via Western, Montrose, Lincoln, Wilson, back to Western, then resume the regular route.

Columbus Closes for Mexican Independence Day Parade SaturdayColumbus will be closed between Balbo and Monroe from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday. Buses on the #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #14 Jeffery Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express routes that ordinarily operate on Columbus and Balbo will operate via Michigan and Roosevelt during the parade.

26th Street Closes for Mexican Festival Saturday26th Street will be closed between California and Kostner from 1 a.m. Saturday, September 11 until 6 a.m. Monday, September 13 for Fiesta de la Villita. Westbound #60 Blue Island buses will operate via 26th, California, Cermak, Cicero to the terminal at 24th Place where they will resume eastbound trips.

Additional Service Provided for Navy Pier Fireworks Saturday NightAdditional buses will operate on the #29 State, #66 Chicago and #124 Navy Pier bus routes for spectators attending the fireworks display at Navy Pier at 9 p.m. Saturday. The last #124 bus leaves the pier at midnight. The last #29 and #66 buses leave the pier at 12:20 a.m.

Morse Closes for CTA Viaduct Work Beginning MondayMorse will be closed weekdays only at the CTA Red Line viaduct from 7 a.m. Monday, September 13 until 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 4. Morse will be open on weekends and the Morse 'L' station will remain open. Eastbound #96 Lunt buses will operate via Morse, Ashland, Pratt, back to Sheridan, then resume the regular route. Westbound service will not be affected.

Eastbound #155 Devon buses will operate via Sheridan, Lunt, back to Ashland, then resume the regular route. Westbound service will not be affected.
