69th Street Bus Bridge Reopens FridayConstruction on the 69th Street Red Line station bus bridge has been completed and it will reopen for service at 12:01 a.m. Friday, October 3. Buses on the#N5 South Shore Night Bus, #29 State, #30 South Chicago, #67 67th/69th/71st, #71 71st and #169 69th/UPS Express routes will return to their normal bus stops at the station. Temporary stops were implemented in June while the bus bridge at the station was reconstructed.
CTA Provides Convenient Service for Cubs/Braves PlayoffsRegular night game service will be provided for Game 3 of the playoffs between the Cubs and the Atlanta Braves Friday night. #154 Wrigley Field Express buses will begin operating every 10 minutes between DeVry University and the ballpark at 4:30 p.m. and will run continuously until one hour after the game ends. A $5 fee covers parking and a round trip ride to and from the ballpark.
Extra buses will operate on the #152 Addison route. #152 service normally ends at 9:10 p.m. eastbound and 10 p.m. westbound. Service will resume at the end of the game leaving from Wrigley Field in both directions until one hour after the game ends.
Yellow Line trains will operate until midnight. Southbound Purple Line trains will stop at Addison before the game only. Red Line trains will operate every 3 ? 5 minutes.
Game 4 is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday. Extra service will be provided on the #152 Addison route beginning at 12:30 p.m. Special Yellow Line service will operate from 12:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. (note: Yellow Line trains typically do not run on weekends).
Madison Street Bridge over the Chicago River Closes for RepairsThe Madison Street bridge over the Chicago River will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday until 9:30 a.m. Sunday for sidewalk repairs. #20 Madison, #56 Milwaukee, #60 Blue Island and #124 Navy Pier buses will operate in both directions via Wacker, Randolph, Clinton, back to Madison then resume the regular route.
Longer Purple Line Trains Provided for Northwestern Wildcats FootballThe Northwestern Wildcats host Minnesota at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Longer Purple Line trains will operate beginning at 9 a.m. and after the game as crowds warrant. Ryan Field is just west of the Purple Line's Central station in Evanston.
Helicopter Lift Closes Madison Sunday MorningA helicopter lift at 540 West Madison will close Madison between Clinton and Desplaines. Jefferson also will be closed between Monroe and Washington. The closures will be in effect from 8 a.m until 10 a.m. Eastbound #20 Madison buses will operate via Desplaines, Monroe, Canal, back to Washington then resume the regular route. Westbound #20 buses will operate via Wacker, Randolph, Desplaines, back to Madison then resume the regular route.
Eastbound #56 Milwaukee buses will operate via Desplaines, Lake, Wacker, back to Washington then resume the regular route. Westbound #56 buses will operate via Wacker, Randolph, back to Jefferson then resume the regular route.
69th Street Closed for Construction until Mid-NovemberOngoing construction has now closed 69th Street between Wentworth and Halsted in both directions lasting until mid-November. #67 67th/69th/71st buses will operate eastbound via Halsted, Marquette, Lafayette, back to 69th then resume the regular route. Westbound #67 buses will operate via Lafayette, Vincennes, 71st, Wentworth, Marquette, Halsted, back to 69th then resume the regular route.
Damen Closed for Sewer Work through OctoberDamen is closed for sewer main construction between Schiller and Potomac for approximately three weeks. #50 Damen buses will operate in both directions via Division, Western, North Avenue, back to Damen then resume the regular route.
43rd Street Closed for Metra Viaduct Work43rd Street is closed at LaSalle for construction on the Rock Island Metra viaduct until 5 p.m. Thursday, October 16. #43 43rd buses will operate in both directions via Wentworth, 47th, State, back to 43rd then resume the regular route.
Construction Closes McCormick until Early OctoberMcCormick is closed between Devon and Lincoln for construction until Monday, October 6. #11 Lincoln buses will operate in both directions via Devon, Kedzie, back to Lincoln then resume the regular route. #82 Kimball/Homan buses will operate in both directions via Homan, Devon, back to Kimball then resume the regular route.
