EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF OCTOBER 29 - 31

Single Track in Effect on Red Line Sunday MorningDue to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect northbound between 87th and 69th Streets from 1 a.m. until 8 a.m. Sunday, October 31.

Customers should allow extra travel time.

Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceDue to the Dan Ryan Red Line reconstruction, CTA trains are using by-pass tracks between 75th and 79th Streets until early November.

Customers will continue to board trains at their normal stations.

Cicero Closed for Sewer Work Cicero is closed northbound between Adams and Madison until Friday, November 12. Northbound #54 Cicero buses are operating via Cicero, Jackson, Laramie, Washington, back to Cicero, then resuming the regular route. Southbound service is not affected.

Granville Avenue Closes for Construction at Red Line Viaduct Beginning Friday NightGranville Avenue will be closed at the Red Line from 9 a.m. Friday, October 29 until 5 a.m. Monday, November 1. #N201 Central/Sherman Night buses will operate in both directions via Sheridan, Bryn Mawr, to Broadway, then resume the regular route. The Granville station, which is accessible, will remain open during construction.

Longer Purple Line Trains Provided for Northwestern Wildcats Football SaturdayThe Northwestern Wildcats host the Purdue Boilermakers at 11 a.m. Saturday. Longer Purple Line trains will begin operating at 9 a.m. and continue until one hour after the game or as crowds warrant. Ryan Field is just west of the Purple Line's Central station in Evanston.

Additional Service Provided for Navy Pier Fireworks on Saturday NightsAdditional buses will operate on the #29 State, #66 Chicago and #124 Navy Pier bus routes for spectators attending the fall fireworks displays at Navy Pier at 9 p.m. Saturday nights through October 30. The last #124 bus leaves the pier at midnight. The last #29 and #66 buses leave the pier at 12:20 a.m.

Helicopter Lift Closes Michigan and Walton Sunday MorningA helicopter lift at the Palmolive Building, 919 North Michigan, will close Michigan between Delaware and Oak, and Walton between Michigan and Mies Van Der Rohe Sunday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

#145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan buses will operate in both directions via Michigan, Oak, State, Chicago, back to Michigan, then resume the regular route.

#10 Museum of Science & Industry buses will operate in both directions via Michigan, Chicago, Inner Lake Shore Drive, Oak, State, Chicago, back to Michigan, then resume the regular route.

Additional Service Provided for Bears Game Sunday NightAdditional service will be provided on the #12 Roosevelt and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus routes for the Bears game against the San Francisco 49ers at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Additional service will begin at 5 p.m. and continue until one hour after the game ends or as crowds warrant.

CTA's #128 Soldier Field Express route also will operate between the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and Soldier Field beginning at 5:15 p.m. and continuing until 1? hours after the game ends.

Halsted Closes for Overnight Street Construction Beginning MondayHalsted will be closed at Lake from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday, November 1, Tuesday, November 2 and Wednesday, November 3. Southbound #8 Halsted buses will operate via Halsted, Washington, Desplaines, Fulton, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route. Northbound buses will operate via Halsted, Fulton, Jefferson, Randolph, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route.

59th Street Bridge over the Dan Ryan Closes for Construction Beginning MondayThe 59th Street bridge over the Dan Ryan Expressway will be closed beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday, November 1 through Wednesday, November 24. Eastbound #59 59th/61st buses will operate via 59th, Wells, 63rd, Wentworth, back to 59th, then resume the regular route. Westbound service will not be affected.

Ewing Bridge over the Calumet River Closes for Repairs Overnight WednesdayThe Ewing bridge over the Calumet River will be closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 3 until 6 a.m. Thursday, November 4. #26 South Shore Express and #30 South Chicago buses will operate in both directions via Ewing, Avenue L, 95th, South Chicago, Harbor Drive, back to Mackinaw, then resume the regular route.
