EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF OCTOBER 1 - 3

Single Track in Effect on Red Line over the WeekendDue to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 69th and 87th Streets from 8 p.m. Friday until 3 p.m. Saturday and again in the same location northbound from 8 p.m. Saturday until 3 p.m. Sunday.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Monday through Next ThursdaySingle track service will be in effect northbound between 33rd and 15th Streets from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, October 4 and Tuesday night, October 5; and southbound in the same location Wednesday night, October 6 and Thursday night, October 7.

Customers should allow extra travel time.

Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceDue to the Dan Ryan Red Line reconstruction, CTA trains will begin using by-pass tracks northbound between 79th and 75th Streets Friday, October 1 and southbound Saturday, October 2. The by-pass tracks will be in place until mid-November.

CTA trains also are using by-pass tracks between 52nd and 56th Streets until late October.

Customers will continue to board trains at their normal stations.

Halsted Closes for Street Construction Beginning Friday NightHalsted will be closed at Lake from 7 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday, October 4. Southbound #8 Halsted buses will operate via Halsted, Washington, Desplaines, Fulton, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route. Northbound buses will operate via Halsted, Fulton, Jefferson, Randolph, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route.

Race for the Cure 5K Run May Cause Intermittent Service Delays SaturdayColumbus will be closed between Balbo and Roosevelt, and Balbo will be closed between Michigan and Lake Shore Drive from 4 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday. During the race, buses on the #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove, #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #12 Roosevelt, #14 Jeffery Express, #X28 Stony Island Express, #126 Jackson, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express and #147 Outer Drive Express may experience intermittent service delays.

Game Time Set for Cubs on SaturdayThe Cubs will play the Atlanta Braves at 12:20 p.m. Saturday. The usual additional game service provided on the #22 Clark, #152 Addison, #154 Wrigley Field Express bus routes and the Red Line will accommodate this schedule.

Longer Purple Line Trains Provided for Northwestern Wildcats Football Saturday NightThe Northwestern Wildcats host the Ohio State Buckeyes at 8 p.m. Saturday. Longer Purple Line trains will begin operating every 10 minutes at 5:30 p.m. and after the game until 12:30 a.m. Ryan Field is just west of the Purple Line's Central station in Evanston.

Additional Service Provided for Navy Pier Fireworks on Saturday NightsAdditional buses will operate on the #29 State, #66 Chicago and #124 Navy Pier bus routes for spectators attending the fall fireworks displays at Navy Pier at 9 p.m. Saturday nights through October 30. The last #124 bus leaves the pier at midnight. The last #29 and #66 buses leave the pier at 12:20 a.m.

Additional Service Provided for Bears Game on SundayAdditional service will be provided on the #12 Roosevelt and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus routes for the Bears game against Philadelphia at noon on Sunday. Additional service will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until one hour after the game ends or as crowds warrant.

CTA's #128 Soldier Field Express route also will operate between the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and Soldier Field beginning at 10:25 a.m. and continuing until 1 ? hours after the game ends.

Michigan Avenue Closes for ComEd Electrical Work on MondayMichigan Avenue will be closed between 108th and 109th Streets from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 4. #34 South Michigan and #119 Michigan/119th buses will operate in both directions via Michigan, 107th, State, 111th, back to Michigan, then resume the regular route.

Cicero Closes for Sewer Work Beginning WednesdayCicero will be closed northbound only between Adams and Madison from 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 6 through Friday, October 15. Northbound #54 Cicero buses will operate via Cicero, Jackson, Kostner, Madison, Kilbourn, Washington, back to Cicero, then resume the regular route. Southbound service will not be affected.
